Really?  Wow!  This sickness has escalated quickly!

I didn't think it looked like the 1x30 the OP talked about in his first knife post a couple of weeks ago.  That KMG Square is probably the best grinder on the market.  I'd love to have one.  I've just got to find a place to put it.

Is there something around here causing this epidemic of knife making? It seems to be escalating at quite the pace. lol

I know...it's all willis68's fault.

He started it with all the knife porn! lol

Seriously though, you guys are doing some awesome work, and frankly, I'm a little envious of your undertakings. Were things a bit different for me, I would like to get involved as well.

I love the concept of taking a piece of raw material, and thru work and patience; producing something as good as you do.

Keep it up!

It's like crack I guess. yukyuk.gif For me it was like "Let me see if I can do this". Once I figured out I could actually make a decent knife I couldn't stop. laugh.gif For me it's a great hobby but it's not for everyone. A lot of the work is slow and tedious and if you don't have the patience, time and ability to adapt and make things easier it can be frustrating. When I get bored or frustrated I just put the steel down and walk away and come back to it later. That's the advantage of it being a hobby rather than a business.

Very good points, GT. That is one of the issues for me, but mostly the time issue, starting another hobby, and realistically, my home location and health issues.

Doesn't mean I can't appreciate it though.

Niiiiice! I AM going to start a new one tonight hopefully. I have been delving into the blacksmithing/knifesmithing so much that I have neglected the reason I started in the first place. I'll either shoot start a new one or finish one already started. Thanks Sybo for the kick in the pants.

Thanks for all the comments! I have always been up for anything that is a learning curve challenge, and this is one of the most difficult and also the most rewarding, thanks to all and especially Grand Torino for sharing tips! I'll keep Ya posted on progress! Jim
