Single Action 9mm

I am itching to add one to my collection. I wouldn't mind more of a commander size or something to carry, but an all range toy would be okay.

I am considering CZ 75 SA or a Hi Power. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I had been looking at a CZ P07, but the single action will not satisfy me and you apparently can't convert it to SA. I'm starting to look at a P02.

Never had a Hi Power. Always figured I needed one. Just so many of them. I've been noticing some Israel imports.

I love my EAA Witness Elite Match. Mine is a 10MM, but they are available in 9, 40, 45, and 38 super as well. It's their version of a CZ 75 and it's pretty flippin sweet. You can find them for around $600 OTD. It's one of many great options out there. Have fun in your search. That's half the fun, anyways!

I would recommend a CZ SP-01 Shadow SA or I also have an STI Trojan that I really like if you like a 1911 platform.  I like the SP-01 a bit more than the normal 75, but they are both great guns.  Depends on what you want to spend of course.

I just got the Sig P938 SAS model. Amazing gun, awesome trigger out of the box even better after about 100 rounds. Great sights and extremely accurate. Shoots as good as the EMP I used to have but a much better carry option. Fun and comfortable to shoot which is not the case for most small hand guns.

Looks like their prices have gone up.

Were it me, I'd look to an older Belgian made Browning.

There are a lot of clones out there - and good ones at that - but a hi-power is an heirloom quality pistol.  I'd go for a good one.

That said, FN makes a great variant.  If you're looking for a more budget friendly option, some FEGs can be had around $300.

They seem to fluctuate depending on caliber and availability at Bud's. A check today shows the 9mm out of stock, and the other calibers between $567 and $592. A shop in Smyrna does my transfers for $15+$10 TICS... gets me within a box of ammo to $600 ;-)

'Course, sounds like I'm the only Witness Elite fan, so I'll politely retreat to the weirdo cave where I normally stay. :-D

I don't think too many people have ever shot a Witness Elite so they don't know just how nice of a gun they are for the price. I have one in 9mm and I love it. The only complaint I have ever heard about the gun is it's heavy.

How much take up is there on the EAA? And the reset?

I don't have a measured way to answer this, so... uh... here ya go.

Also, it's nice to see how bad I am at keeping my trigger finger tight and close on the reset, I let the trigger move way too far forward than it needed to be. Also, I'm sorry I didn't take more time on showing the takeup. Anyways, I hope that helps answer your question! :-)

I have my trigger set at 3 lbs and the reset is very short and not sure how you would measure this without going the range and just shooting it. I have a shooting friend that has a CZ Accu-Shadow and my reset is real close to his.
