Ammo deal

Recommended Posts

Check your local Walmart. They have perfecta brand brass cased ammo on sale. $8.94 for 50rds of 45ACP, 40S&W, or 55gr 223 and $6.94 for 50rds 9mm or 20rds 308.

C'mon, no way any of those prices can be for 50 rounds.

edit: well, hell, maybe it is?

.13/round for 9mm? .17/round for .223? And brass to boot? Even after tax + a dime that's amazing right now.

Mea culpa, still seems like Twilight Zone though. :)

I can take a pic of my receipt and post if you want me to.

No, no ... didn't mean to impugn you, just thought maybe you had round counts mixed up or something.

Seems some variance in pricing from other thread, wondering if this isn't an unannounced "intro price" just in some stores or some such?

I mean, for example no where can one get .223 of any kind right now for under .20/round even buying by the pallet, and even Wally's Russian stuff hasn't been the cheapest available for some time.

Thanks for the report, and again certainly didn't mean to offend you.

I did some checking at lunch today. the Walmart here in Memphis I went to had tons of 9mm. The Perfecta was $13.97 for box of 50. They did have Federal 9mm 115 grain in aluminum cases for 9.97 per box of 50. The Perfecta .45 ACP was priced at $18.97 per box of 50 as well. Did not see any of the old Federal 100 round boxes we used to get for $19.97. They did have WWB for $26.67 box of 100. They also had a great deal of .223 ammo with some Tula as cheap as $5.97 per box of 20.

I bought perfecta .223 50rd box(6 boxes) at Walmart Sunday morning for $8.94 a box. $0.18 a round. That's all they had or I would have gotten more. This store had roll back stickers claiming the sale price. The store where I bought the 45 did not have stickers up and didn't want to sell it to me for the sale price but I asked the manager to honor the price that the other store had(he called and checked) and they did.

No offense taken, I appreciate the deals that others have posted and I'm just trying to do the same

Yeah, obviously some store by store promotion, however that is determined. Just toddled over to my nearest Wally.

They only had Perfecta 9mm (13.97)  and .45 (18.97), same as MphsTiger reports below.

Further shows lack of consistency across the state. Both Tula .223 and 7.62x39 have been 5.47 both here and in Nooga for some time, ever since they bumped it up from 4.xx  some while ago.

True. Makes me curious who makes the decision regarding prices. Store managers, or perhaps some sort of area or zone manager. I have even seen different prices on the same ammo between stores here in Memphis.

I use to know a guy who was a store manager for Walmart. He explained that they have a supper computer in Arkansas that figured the pricing based on a set of parmeters then set it to the store were they have people who change the price. Told me some times it may go up and down from hour to hour

Well, there's no doubt Walmart decisions are mad by micromanaging spread sheets out of Bentonville. Just didn't know how micro some of it may be.

I went to the local Walmart about 8:30 PM and they had Federal 550 36 grain hollow point .22 Long Rifle bullets in stock for $23.97 plus tax.  Several WalMart locations in this area had .22 LR stock today.  There could be some in TN.  I used the WalMart app on the smart phone to check inventory and it was correct but the stock was in the warehouse.  The lady working sporting goods went back and got 3 boxes for me.

Just bought Perfecta 308 for $6.94/20. 3 box limit at the Wally at Nolensville and Bell Rd, and no limit at the Antioch/Mboro Rd Wally. I could have bought four cases, but my wallet would have kicked my butt. Lots of $7/50 9mm and other similar deals available at 5:20pm today.

I've said too much <_< >_>

Lots of 308 and 9 at Charlotte. Lots of 9 and some 308 at Dickerson. Bought my limit of both. Don't need 9, but need 45 and 223. If anyone wants to trade a couple of boxes, shoot me a pm.

What are their limits my friend?
