Wandered in lookn' to do some recon on Tennessee. I've got 5 years to go before I retire and I've heard good things about your state. Yep I'm a Yankee (don't hate me for that.) I'm a conservative. ;)

See you folks on the boards.

Or is that y'all ?

I believe that's correct when speaking to an individual but, "all y'all" is proper when speaking to a group.  :D

Be sure to check out the greater memphis area. We have reached our Yankee quota in East, TN.

What do you have against the new guy?    :-\

BTW, welcome to the forum   and I'm sure you will be welcome in any part of the state..

You might be a Yankee, but as a former Masshole I can say you'd be welcomed with open arms! Especially being from a state friendlier to guns than Massachusetts! ..and Go Red Sox!

Not sure how long ago you were in MA, but I'm pretty sure these day NY's gun laws are a little worse than MA...granted not by much.

Oh and welcome OP :)

hey, welcome to tngo!

TN is a good state.   It is not "ruled" by one huge city, a problem in many states including neighbor GA.  It has no income tax, not a big deal for a retiree but I get a lot from it.   Costs of living are very low ...  homes are cheap, prices fairly low, sales tax high but it works out.   Has everything from good sized city life to extremely rural.  Shooting.. minor issues compared to most states --- still have to get  a permit to carry and a lot of places you can't go carrying it after that because posting a 'no guns' sign has the law behind it.  Most everything else about guns is good to go though ... individual sales,  shoot at home (not in cities..), nearly any type of gun or mag (full auto federal restrictions apply), you name it and you can probably do it, within reason, in tn.   A typical big city yankee retiree can often live out the rest of their life in comfort off nothing but the proceeds from selling a home...
