Gosh, think it will rain???

Recommended Posts

I was fretful that it took forever this spring to get our gutters installed and a pad poured for our rain tank. We finally got it set a couple weeks back and it took about 2 days to fill up 1,500 gallons.

I can totally see adding a couple more tanks in parallel to prep for a dry summer. The new well we dug is going to be a slow performer so storage is going to be key for everything up there. I'd already planned for about 3,000 gallons of buried tank when we built the house. Was going to store grey water in it for the garden.

I may have to expand that thought so we can water both livestock and the garden and not have to depend on the well for that purpose.

I wish I knew how to calculate how much water we are going to typically use...

In the meantime, I have one more round of tomato starts and pepper starts to get into the ground. The plants are starting to get yellow on the leaves. I may have to pull them inside this week.

Oh well, too much is better than too little I guess...
