Judge Rejects D.C.’s Stay Request On Concealed Carry Decision

The Second Amendment Foundation has been all over DC's ass in court on this one.  I think they are hoping that with a precedent coming from a case involving DC, it establishes case law for future federal cases.

It needs the same case presented in one of the "may issue" states, so that it becomes incorporated to all states, as was McDonald.

The San Diego County ruling in Kali is about that, but seems stalled some way or other; may be because the county didn't appeal, not sure, haven't kept up with it.

Part of DC's law is that it prohibits carry within 1,000 feet from a foreign or domestic dignitary.  At first glance this would seem to prohibit carry pretty much anywhere in the district as dignitaries are everywhere.  However, if one reads the law it only applies to dignitaries moving under the protection of MPD, Secret Service, the capital police or a designate there of; to be charged the area has to be posted or the licensee has to have been informed by LEO's.

And with it against the law to carry dignitaries there is no ay to remain on the right side of the law. You don't know who is a dignitary and where they are. Just more useless laws to try to make us all criminals.

If c.a.willard reading is correct then the area will need to be posted or a LEO in the area will need to info people.  It is kinda like the school events in parks issue.  They have to inform you an event is happening and once informed you can be arrested if you don't leave the area or at least make your gun leave the area.
