Recommend me a IWB holster

Recommended Posts

I've never tried a IWB holster, I always thought they looked uncomfortable. But due to summer heat and my Sunday cloths OWB is not an option to CC. I'm not into baggy clothes(or skin tight for that matter). I am a 36" waist if that matters any. I mostly carry a glock 22 or glock 42. What holster do y'all recommend?

I'd check into the Alien Gear 3.0 holster. I owned the original version which was a crossbreed clone just like all the others and didn't care for it. I have a buddy that has the 2.0 and it's a much nicer holster. You can see the details on their site but they do away with the leather in favor or plastic and neoprene. He say's it's much more comfortable and has no long break in period. The 3.0 (which I just ordered) adds another layer of spring sheet metal or something like that to give it a little more rigidity. I think it also adds another layer of cushion. They are right at $50 shipped too with a lifetime warranty and you can swap out the kydex shell for free if you change guns.

I have a hybrid style holster made locally by MTO holsters.  I wore mine yesterday evening in about the kidney position, say (4-5 o'clock), drove to Nashville and back and an hour or more at sleep number store, and hardly knew it was there.  You may need bigger pants though, and a longer belt depending on the thickness of your carry gun.  I've tried it with my regular clothes and its a tight fit, but that may be too many tacos too.  I also purchased some longer shirts by buying a size larger than normal, it covers well and does not print much if at all.

I have the 2.0 and it's pretty good with most shorts I have.  I'd be comfortable recommending it to someone.

I'll have to check out the 3.0 if I ever get a new pistol.

I have a Remora for a Kahr PM9. I like (most of the time) that it doesn't have belt clips so it's super easy to put on/take off. It stays put just fine as long as I use a real belt. I have a few softer belts that it doesn't do as well with if I don't cinch them down.

I've been wearing a Crossbreed for about 5 years now. It still looks good and I suspect it will easily last another 5. I have the horsehide version as the leather is denser and seems to work better in the summer

Wow, I like the TT but my wallet doesn't. LOL

Is that the Slim XC model?

What he calls the Slim "Mike's Special'. He's actually using my photo to illustrate it (with permission).

DM Bullard for leather IWB

I really love the Dual Carry, but not the metal clips. Unfortunately, with that design, the leather loop option makes it too bulky with the upright risers necessary to put them in position.

I've gone to the leather loops. Yeah the metal clips need to be kydex or plastic of some sort.

I had to give up on the Dual Carry. The leather loop arrangement using those risers was just too clunky for me. Need a pair of black ones?
