VA Tries to Confiscate Disabled Vet’s Guns

Recommended Posts

Any time you are adjudicated incompetent to manage your affairs, that generally goes along wit it, nothing new there.

Yeah, but with the amount of PTSD or TBI brought about by the Iraq and Afghan wars, this is going to be a big deal.  The level at which this is decided, and how much input the doctors the veteran actually sees will be the key.

The problem I have with it is that they do not claim they are a danger to themselves or others. Simply not able to balance your checkbook or handle your financial affairs is no reason to deny someone's 2a rights.

In the story, it eluded to the fact the guy may of been scamming the VA by claiming he needed help and I am tempted to say it serves him right. But I hate to have this policy in place where it treats them that way when they really need help.

I have also heard about felons being allowed to sell their weapons, which I agree with, so why are the Vets not given that choice?

If I've said it once, I've said it a hundred times, the ONLY way to fix / prevent all of VA's issues, medical or otherwise,

is just to shut the damn thing down, give vets a card to go where they choose, and not have to deal with these fine folks.

Personally, I am in process of getting Part D to go along with A & B, plus Tricare. Then I plan to tell the VA to kiss my _ _ _ .

The first two lines of this post are not likely to happen.

National disgrace.
