I've been getting emails about unissued SKSs from SOG and now from Classic Firearms. They have a video posted though... and how has it got my drooling. Freaking gorgeous.

Anyone decided to order some? I had pushed it out of my mind and told myself I didn't need one... until I was looking at this video.

Here they are at Classic

And

Here they are at SOG

Unissued this is not THAT bad of a deal.  Just make sure to check the barrel for pitting as I don't think the 59/66 yugos had chrome lining on them.  Just in case they were fired once for proofing then thrown in storage, etc without cleaning.

Correct, none of the Yugo models have chrome lined barrels (Mauser, SKS, AK, etc.)  The former Yugoslavia doesn't have chromium ore deposits, hence no chrome plating.

Dang it! I just got separated from more of my money. Why did I have to watch that video?

I think I need to find a meeting to go to.....

I'll host a group buy on these - But being a dealer I have to charge Sales Tax.

Works out like this

Crate of 10 $399.99 each

Shipping $137.76 Crate

Tics $10 each

$423.77 each

Total with Tax OUT THE DOOR $465

AND we will draw a winner for the crate out of the 10 buyers

Any Interest at all?

I already called and they will not offer a Dealer or multi discount on these.

should have just accepted it.

I love them things.  Recall buying one for 160 otd 7 or 8 years back and thinking I was getting screwed.   460 now?   Wow.

As for taking that one,  meh,  a little wear on it.  It is a milsurp, who cares?

Once I put the golf ball launcher on mine I forgot about a little wear and tear on the flash hider.

Because I bought what's supposed to be an un-issued (or pretty dang close to it) one and paid the price accordingly. If I wanted one that looks like it got drug behind a UPS truck or a tank, I'd have bought one of the Norincos coming in now for a lot less. It may not be just the finish on the muzzle device. If it got whacked around bad enough to tear that up, who know how off the barrel may be?

Mine arrived yesterday, but I wasn't home (signature required) so I had them hold it at the UPS depot up on Whites Creek Pike. Stopped by today to get it.....

Refused to accept. Return to sender. I'll have to call Classic on Monday. That sucks.

Monkey,  I'm glad you refused it.  I have expertise on proper packaging for parcel shipments and they didn't package it properly.

I don't know what their return / exchange policy is, though it may be that they have to take it back if you refused it.

Mine came from S.O.G. the other day.  You commented on my thread complaining about them, so you know what my experience was.

Having said that, Classic and S.O.G. are the only ones I know of that have the un-issued ones.   I read the classic website to say you may or may not get the booklet, oil can, etc....

S.O.G. states that you will get them, which I did.  I'll post pics later today of the gun I rec'd as well as the 'goodies' so you can see who you want to buy from.  The gun will still be coated in cosmoline.  I'm taking it apart later today to remove the cosmoline and want you to see the pics before Monday when you deal with Classic.

I spoke with them today. They're getting pics of the rifle out to me before they reship to be sure I'm OK with it. the guy I spoke with said the only damage is that bluing wear on the muzzle device, which may or may not have happened in shipping. He said that muzzle device wear is something they're seeing on some of them out of the crates. Other than that, he said it's beautiful, no other signs of any damage. I'll post back with pics when I get it.

It's good to hear that they're going to take care of you. I've never dealt with their customer service, but I have heard good and bad things. I can't complain though, all my stuff has made it to me intact and quickly.

They've been pretty good. Contacted me throughout the process. No complaints from me so far. A little slow on the turnaround. the rifle arrived back at their place on Tuesday last week, and I had to call today to get a status, which is when I found out the above info. Not a big deal to me. I'm not in a hurry for this. If I have no emailed pics and have to call again in 3 or 4 days, that may start to change, but so far so good.

Everyone I've spoken to has been polite and professional. They sound like good people over there.
