Anybody reload .17 Ackley Hornet?

Sweet rifle. You probably won't find ammo for it a WalMart. I've loaded 22 Hornet, 218 Bee, and 32-20, but never this one. I assume you'd neck down 22 Hornet then fireform it?


Correct. It is a 22 hornet necked down to 17. Ackley created it in the early to mid fifties. Supposedly the best combo of speed and stability of any 17 of the time.

Cooper still makes an action chamber in it.

From what I have read if will work but you lose some accuracy because the bullet has to jump to the rifling. The shoulder angles are different and the oal is a little difference. I might try that just don't want to do anything to screw it up.
