Black powder gunsmith in Franklin

Recommended Posts

Word is that there's a guy making black powder rifles in Franklin but not sure who it is. Does anyone know what his name is? I need a modification (dovetail cut) on a barrel and heard he makes his stuff from blanks so he may have the right bits to do this.

The number that xsubsailor posted is for John Anderson. He's a spectacular traditional gun builder. He's also a fine friend of mine here in Tullahoma.
Please give him a call. Chances are he'll do it while you wait. Edited by robtattoo

Oh no, I don't like black powder guns... Out of generosity I offered to help a friend out and shouldn't have done so.  Will never happen again with something old, foreign and of sentimental value lol.

I never caught the AR bug either, the only thing I have is a bone stock bushmaster ar10.  Pistols are my love.

That guy is awesome!  Older gentleman, had some very cool relics, very knowledgable of black rifles and he machined that barrel for a whopping $10.  If he wasn't so far away, I would definitely hang out with him more often.
