Oh Crap! Waffle House Again!

YAHOO REPORTS, Customer was told no smoking allowed, pulled gun, shot waitress in head fatally. Under arrest, first degree murder. Why do you need to carry a gun, we are just going for dinner?

I heard this during the afternoon. I'm terribly sorry for the lady's family, and that it happened.

But...just because we, you or I, are just going out to dinner is no guarantee that something might not happen to make us wish to have carried.

It is not like he was shooting anyone else.   He shot someone who made him feel fucked over.  So a guy shoots someone,  are you gonna pull your piece and shoot a guy who blew a person away even though he threatened no one else?

I'm not sure honestly. I wouldn't run from the other side of the restaurant but if I was seated close, he may have been shot before there was time to reason if he was going to shoot others.

He would have certainly been drawn on, his reaction to that probably would have sealed the decision.

really horrible situation, holidays, poor girl trying to survive. maybe the shooter will fall into the prison wood chipper..after someone beats him up for his cigarettes....

Yep. I'm not gonna wait around to see what else he is gonna do. He has proven he has a handgun and is an immediate threat by killing someone. If I could get my firearm out I'd not be waiting to see what else he had planned.

I dunno if I could shoot him if he did not threaten me.  I agree with having the pistol handy in case he did point it my way.

 

The whole thing is awful.  Sounds like he had more issues than being allowed to smoke.

That was in my hometown.. The coroner that took care of the scene is a close family friend. I used to go there as a teenager at 3 in the morning when you could still smoke in it and chief all night with band mates. Awful story.
