Hawaii could become the first state in the United States to enter gun owners into an FBI database that will automatically notify police if an island resident is arrested anywhere else in the country.

Most people entered in the "Rap Back" database elsewhere in the U.S. are those in "positions of trust," such as school teachers and bus drivers, said Stephen Fischer of the FBI's Criminal Justice Information Services Division. Hawaii could be the first state to add gun owners.

"I don't like the idea of us being entered into a database. It basically tells us that they know where the guns are, they can go grab them" said Jerry Ilo, a firearm and hunting instructor for the state. "We get the feeling that Big Brother is watching us."

Supporters say the law would make Hawaii a leader in safe gun laws. Allison Anderman, a staff attorney at the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence, said the bill was "groundbreaking," and that she hadn't heard of other states introducing similar measures.

This regards the FBI's Next Generation Identification.

I wonder if the feds have actually said they'd actually enter the information? I mean, Hawaii can't pass a federal law, or even force a federal agency to do something by passing a state law, whether it's found to be constitutional or not.

The states would be entering the data, not the FBI.  It doesn't technically violate current federal law IMHO.

the ruling class does not like or want us to have guns.  this is a way to know whom has guns, so they can come for them at a later date.  criminals/dirt bags don't get their guns the same way we do, so they will not be in the data base.  so the circle of gun control keeps on going.

Gun confiscation wouldn't work.  We can track down 20 million illegal immigrants and deport them.  How on earth are roughly 1 million law enforcement officers going to go door to door removing guns from 100 million households.  If you sent a single officer to 1 house a day it would take more than 3 months.

You just can't collect all the guns.  And in the process you'll turn 1-3 million otherwise law abiding citizens into criminals who no longer believe the government is empowered to govern.

Didn't Obama sign the Small Arms Treaty and the Safe City Act that allows the UN to bolster our law enforcement for confiscation?

I dunno, maybe?

Whats the UN gonna do? The US is the backbone and right arm of the UN, what, are the French gonna come in and confiscate guns from the US? Mexico?

Anyone who talks about the UN as an potential force for confiscation has never seen a UN force in the field.
