Congratulate me!

As of today, I have not used smokeless tobacco for four weeks. I had used it almost half of my 41 years on this earth, but decided it was time to quit. It has not been easy, but it has not been as difficult as I feared.  I am over the physical nicotine withdrawal for a couple of weeks now, but the situational habit of having a dip in when shooting or going to gun stores or just driving is still very strong at times. I thank God, and my wife for encouraging, not nagging, me in this. If this is something you need to do, do it.

I have been threatening to gve up my Marlboro's for about 6 months but has not worked yet. I'm 68 years old and been smoking 58 years. Doctor actually told me quiting at my age with my health and smoking that long might just kill me. I looked at her and laughed and told her that was exactly what I have been thinking......................:wall:

Smokeless tobacco is a nasty addiction and I've seen friends just about lose themselves when they finally decide to quite the stuff. Good for you for deciding enough was enough and going cold turkey. Not everyone can find the determination to do what you've done so give yourself a pat on the back, you earned it.

Congrats! Every time you feel the urge put the money you would have spent on a can in a jug. By yourself some ammo or save up and buy a firearm with the money. Probably be amazed how fast that jar will fill up.
