Pros: Huge store, large selection of all products
Cons: Extremely rude and unhelpful staff, "No Carry" Sign Posted, High prices

Mahoney's has very few things that I can say about it that are positive. They've got a huge selection of long guns and shotguns, and a pretty good handgun selection. The ammo selection is probably among the best in town, next to Wideners. They have a pretty large selection of accessories of all sorts. Not many spare pistol magazines, but the rest of the spectrum is covered fairly well. They have a the best scope selection in town as far as hunting and target optics go. They also have a pretty decent selection of reloading components as well. They also have an excellent knife selection for those who like to keep sharp objects nearby as well. They're also one of the few places you can go for quality Airsoft pieces in town too. Everything however, is priced high. And they don't haggle with you on it. They also won't price match unless you're talking about a multi-thousand dollar weapon that someone else has for a couple hundred bucks cheaper.

The staff on the other hand, are one of the reasons I do not shop at Mahoney's. They are not helpful, most of them are blatantly rude to everyone under the age of 40. Most of them will only come ask if you need help if they can't find something else to do. And if you want to stand around and compare things, they will get impatient and probably wander off at least once.

The building itself is posted, albeit improperly. This annoys me to no end. One of the largest selections of firearms in the area up for sale, and they don't want law abiding citizens with permits carrying there. They want you to check your weapon at the front counter. That reason alone is enough for them to forfeit my business in the future.

Pros: Good selection
Cons: Posted, arrogant staff,

I've bought a few guns from Mahoney's over the decades. But I won't do so again as long as the building is posted. It's an absolute insult to their gun customers, and illogical nonsense for their customers in other departments.

Until that sign comes down, I won't bother to go in their shop. I don't do business with places that insult me.

Pros:
Cons:

Just wanted to let all of you know- The store is not posted for ccw carry permits. We have had over 3 discharges inside the store from customers over the past 10 years. They all came from people who said their gun was unloaded. There are many people who are ccw holders who come in the store to try a new holster and the firearm is loaded when it is "tried in the new holster." This is a dangerous situation for employees and customers. We do not take the firearm or care that you have it on you, we just look to make sure it is unloaded. We just don't want a loaded firearm to come out of the holster as they tend to do in a gun store. We do not care if you carry concealed and it never comes out but due to the nature of history this is why we posted this sign. We hope you understand, it is just a safety issue.
