These belonged to my dad who passed away a few years ago. He was not a big gun guy or collector. He was a Lutheran pastor I only found these at Mom's house the other day. I think she sometimes used them to pull weeds in the yard. I'm not sure of the originality or finish. Neither can I find any stamps or markings. Maybe $45 for each. Thank you for looking!

Just attended a social function, as couple from our church just celebrated a 60th wedding anniversary and their kids were having a get together for them at our local events center. I had to dress for the occasion and put on a pair of light tan colored Kakis and Polo shirt. My pocket in those trousers is a little small for my usual K frame size 7 shot revolver and it prints really bad, so I put the Taurus in the safe and retrieved my Ruger Max 9. I had the extended 12 round mag in it, so I took it out and inserted the 10-rounder. The Max 9 fits that pocket much better but does still print however not near as bad as the revolver. It had 11 rounds of 9 MM on board instead of the 13 I usually carry. I really have come to like the Max 9. It is just right for big or smaller medium size pocket carry. IMO, only those who really know where they are in our solar system would even notice the bulge in my pocket. The Max is very easy to draw, fire, and get good hits with. I really like the green pipe sight and how the steel pistol feels in the hand. Even with the 10-round mag I can still get a good 2 1/2 finger hold (medium size hands) on the grip which is enough to hold to and makes shots more accurately. Even with continuous fire with 147 Gr + p S D H P ammo my half finger does not disengage the grip. If looking for a good, concealed carry pistol, for either IWB holsters or medium to large size Pocket carry, the Max deserves your eye for at least a checkout. The thing is built like a tank. I use a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster to carry the pistol in. I only paid 369.00 plus Tax for the Ruger. It comes with both mags.

Most instructors will not permit you in a class to train with a cross-draw holster. Since you are a novice it is regarded as a safety issue for you and others. The only advantage, IMO, is if you are on the road a lot driving. If that's the case, AIWB is a good option and beats OC.

If it feels good now, the Hogue grip might make it feel too big and/or change the feel of the grip. Have you ever tried Talon Grips? They add almost no thickness and do not change the grip profile. Just another option to consider, hope you enjoy your CZ.

Update: Got my P10c in and ran some rounds through after inspecting and cleaning. Found out pretty quickly that it did NOT like the Turan 124g HP since the first one I chambered hung up, and I ended up having to force rack the slide in order to eject the unspent round. CCI and Fiocchi ran flawlessly. I will definitely be upgrading the front sight as the three white dot system is difficult to see, but I still managed a decent group at 25 yards. Now, I just need to work on repetitions and work toward better grouping and speed as time goes along. The gun feels great in my hands, even with the needle-like stippling, but I think I will try the Hogue rubber grip for it and see how that feels in comparison. Pics will be added soon.

You know, people have many opinions of courts and prosecutions. Many have opinions of how they "think it should be", that are about as far as one can get from real factual law, and facts of how the justice system and the courts really work. I had a friend who told me, from experience, it was totally different than he once thought. He said he never even got the chance to tell his side of the story, and it really never came out really what happened. The only thing that came out was his lawyers telling of his perception of what transpired and the other sides trying to hang him with their really unfactual lie filled take on what really happened. I once was on jury duty, in a capitol criminal self-defense case and it opened my eyes totally. My friend was right about his assessment and knowledge of being prosecuted. I learned from my experience, and it is what caused me to seek out and find a plan to face prosecution. The guy being prosecuted had a court appointed lawyer who only had 45 days to prepare his case and defense and informed the judge he really felt he had inadequate time and "resources" to properly defend his client. The lawyer was 75 Y O and slept thorough a lot of the trial. The Judge ruled we are going to try this case starting today. If our jury foreman had not had knowledge of self-defense, we would have sent this guy to prison for 15 years probably. When we started deliberating, we took a vote, and it was 10 to 2 to convict. The jury foreman spoke up and said come on people, a man has a right to protect himself in his own front yard with anything he can use. He was totally right. This old very sick 66 YO man was attacked (domestic violence) by a drunk 25'ish young man (daughter's boyfriend), and the old guy busted his head with a ball bat. Took 18 stitches to sow his scalp back together. The grand jury found cause and DA prosecuted the old fellow. Guys, I learned that day you had better have a good lawyer, and to me "LOTS" of money, should you be forced into a self-defense situation and you act with counter violence. In Rutherford count y a lawyer recently told me he would need, in today's dollars, $100,000.00 +, with half of it up front, to mount a good/adequate defense if the case was the least bit complicated/controversial. That is in today's dollars in Rutherford County TN, TODAY. If racial or well publicized much, much, more money. Look at the Rittenour trial and Zimmerman trial. with both in the millions of dollars. I know they are exceptions "BUT"! You got that kind of change laying around, I DONT! That is why I got a plan and hope/pray I never need it. Edited to add; ACLDN told me they were spending in the $60,000. range for full blown local defenses for the ACLDN members in most situations of full out court fights with a couple going much higher. Said several situations was less money. I would need to sell my house to mount that kind of defense moneys, if forced into a S D situation and was prosecuted for it guys. You got car insurance, homeowners' insurance, and health insurance, don't you? Well!!!!! Do you carry a gun? What about insurance for your continued freedom should you be forced to use it?????? Not trying to be trite here guys. "JUST THINK ABOUT IT."
