I'm guessing they didn't have time to wait until the store opened and fill out a 4473 form like most folks... Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk5 points

Thanks for the feedback so far folks. I'm not going to carry through with the idea. It was cathartic to just get it out of my system.5 points

I vote keep it. Obviously you have emotional ties to it. It's not like an animal you don't have to feed it, it doesn't cost you anything if you don't drive it. New cars just don't have the soul the classics do. If I won the lottery (which I don't play anyways) I would have a TON of restored/modified older vehicles. Even if it's only rarely driven, keep it. You won't come across anyone else driving one just like it. There is a certain pride of ownership that comes with a built not bought vehicle that you can't get from anything else.2 points

Well, I gotta admit I give BHO a bit more credence on this one that most of his decisions. Not that it ain't political to a certain extent, but to be fair, would a Republican president allow such an end run around the confines of sequestration for funding some part of government favored by liberals? I doan thin so, Lucy. The fact that it's the military is of course somewhat galling considering BHO's long onslaught of same, but then again, the Budget Control Act of 2011 had overwhelming GOP support in the House, so it's not like the military having to live within the same proportional constraints is suddenly some big surprise or anything. - OS2 points

It's been a while since this happened but yes, we had someone post a bunch of stuff for sale and then try to reverse charges a few months later. After going back and forth with the member's bank over it, I finally just told them to refund the person and I banned them permanently from the site. The more I think about the notion of just taking the high road, the more I think it's probably the right idea.2 points

Folks over at Lucky gunner must have found a Ballistics Gel Blue-Light Special! http://www.luckygunner.com/labs/self-defense-ammo-ballistic-tests/ Just about every size and brand of handgun ammo out there. - Kevin1 point

I just finished this one up. High cut under the trigger guard and checkered at 30 LPI to match the mainspring housing. French border cut on the slide. I refinished in Norrell's moly resin to color match the original parkerized finish. Larger photo here: http://www.guntechtips.com/images/doc-sa-2.jpg1 point

Sell it. Vehicles that aren't driven regularly will deteriorate, and as they do either they become money pits or else get neglected further. Unless you are really into collecting and restoring cars/trucks, and have the tools, facilities and know-how to do so, if you ever get the urge to own a restored version of this it's far easier and ultimately much less expensive to buy one that someone else has done the work to, maybe even someday this truck again. Ask me how I know all of this ...1 point

None taken, sorry if it seemed like it. I am scanning craigslist right now and some of it is comical. Honestly, 6-7k will not get her. My lowest of my low is 8,500. and I know she will sit. The good thing is I have full coverage insurance on her as a DD and she's guaranteed for $14,000 if totaled. The money would come in handy. Both of our DD's are about to be paid of next month. I have a lot of things I could use the money for but my gut says to be smart and sock it away. I just know that I will never carry out any further restoration on her and I love her enough to know that is there is someone who will, she deserves it. You're so right. My favorite thing is we live so far out that when I go to the one gas station in the area, I always pull in and the old farts outside dinking around just stare. When I leave I always floor it just because I can look back and see them laughing. She does have a cool factor and I have been offered cash for her quite a few times, I never took them up on it. But now, I know it is what I want to do. Kinda. It's tough! She costs me quite a bit. 6 MPG @ $2.85 is a wee bit! Which is why I don't drive her often and I do drive her a bit fast and loud so I am sure I am really only getting around 4MPG. LOL1 point

I'm just the opposite. Unless it is something really collectible and sure to increase in value by multiple times, I say dump it. I bought a 1977 F150 new, ran the crap out of it, rebuilt the engine, ran it for several more years and then dumped it because I was tired of it. Bought a new 1989 f150 and haven't looked back. I decided I like new technology instead of rolling around underneath my vehicles.1 point

I had a 1978 Ford F-150 that I got in highschool. It was my first road legal truck, and i drove it everyday. Blew the motor after high school, and as a coming home present my dad dropped in a new one while I was at boot camp. Drove it everytime I came home, proposed to my wife in it. Dropped a 460 in it after I eased and came home. Finally sold it after it sat for 6 months with no money to put on tires a couple years ago to a gentleman on here. I regret it everyday and would love to have it back, but don't even remeber his screen name. If it means something deep down, then keep it. You'll regret the sell and the money will disappear all to quickly Sent from behind the anvil1 point

Scored it off eBay inexpensively from some feller, but doesn't show in last three years, so I must have gotten it before that. How time flies. It does have a "pocket hook", is curved for right pocket carry, but main way to release heater is to press down with right thumb on top while pulling gun butt upward. I can say I tried a Nemesis with my PM9, but it's like carrying a widdle stuffed pillow, so I'm sure I'd hate it equally for a revolver, which is already wider to begin with. Here's a quick pic compilation to show you the style. I thought the little thumb stud sticking out laterally just a bit might be troublesome in pocket, but didn't find it so, but again didn't carry the revolver but a day or two, mainly got the holster as a backup way to carry in case I needed to for some reason (I carry PM9 daily). I think if I wanted it flat on that side without the lateral projection that makes it flat on top, could actually just soften it with heat and pull it straight up and would still serve fine, or do that and even cut a bit off, whatever. - OS1 point

I agree 100% You posted this pic a long time back and got me sold on Kydex pocket holsters. Thanks for the idea. I've made 2 for myself (P-32 and XD-s) and 1 for a co-worker (Shield) at my last job. If you make them right, nothing could be thinner and mine has NEVER come out of my pocket on accident. In fact, It's often a chore to remove it on purpose.1 point

The Smith & Wesson M&P9c has a 3.5 inch barrel. Most manufacturer data are tested with a 4 inch barrel. shootingthebull410 has done some testing using a 3 inch barrel Sig P938. The shorter barrel and resulting lower velocity affect the expansion and penetration. You might find his work interesting and compare with the Lucky Gunner data.. He likes the Fed HST best, but several others are close, not necessarily the traditional self defense rounds FROM THE 3 INCH BARREL. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iA7FTjmLiQQ&list=PLgNSGOEQko_M90AMdRCDMgd-w4Yozc27i1 point

Honestly, try to name a universe that expands book, comics, films, games and comes out the way you want it to. Aliens is a perfect example, the movies beyond 2 just went way off the rails. I like 3 alright.. and it least it stuck to the same timeline but it veered off from the books so heavily that they had to rename some of the characters just to appease the die hards. Hicks became Wicks, Newt became Billie. Star Trek is the same way. If you were a comic book reader.... good lord at the plot twists and re-envisioning... after a few years your character could even change gender. I'm just going to watch it because it's fun to see a movie. If anything, you might see girls in slave Leia outfights and that's enough for me.....1 point

I would say the same thing about people who follow grown men playing silly games with a ball. Many people find fictitious things dumb or beneath them but sports are equally worthless. It's all pass time. If it makes you happy (and it's legal) it's all good.1 point

You say that but studies have proven that active imagination and especially reading (anything) is one of the best things you can do to fight Alzheimer's and dementia. So long as you don't end up in moms basement twenty three hours a day playing world of Warcraft on line, reading and and engaging your mind in occasional fiction is very healthy for your mind.1 point

OOOOOOOhhhhhhh! By far my most favorite bit of expanded universe knowledge. Not as awesome as some things but knowledge is power... R2D2 was never wiped. Never. He had full length records of events and conversations dating back to before Anakin was found. ALL of it was intact. Luke Skywalker never knew this until many many years later. He could not access it because Anakin was a computer programming god. HIs encryptions were unbeatable. Luke finally managed to bypass some of it and used the force to get into other parts of it. Eventually, he got to see his mother, his father their relationship and a like watching netflix to catch up on past seasons, he got to see the rise and fall of his father. This was a MAJOR contributing factor why Luke became so powerful and decided to wipe clean the old order and rebuild an entirely new order. Attachments are no longer forbidden, love and family are encouraged under his regime. Seems silly to some but this part of the story like was HUGE to me. Imagine getting to see a mother you never knew. Getting to see the mistakes made and learn from them. That's quite significant in my mind.1 point

If you are still looking, I'd vote Jeff at Guns and Leather. a bit of a drive, but he's a great smith and a great guy. Tom over at Lock Stock and Barrel has a good reputation from what I've read and they are a little closer to you, you might also try calling them up.1 point

I wonder if having a minimum post count would help? Don't make it a crazy number but requiring anyone who wants to sell something to have a minimum of 5 or 10 posts would cut down on those who register to dispute them. Another option could be that staff approves all posts by those who do not have 10 posts. I think there is a large segment of the population who does not believe it is stealing if it is done on the internet. I have had people try to dispute stuff with me even though I had a no questions asked money back guarantee. But I believe it was never about getting the refund and all about being able to keep what I sold them without paying for it. And if I could have convinced my local LE to I would have prosecuted every single one of them. I would rather see a hall of shame with all the classic threads where people have lost their minds.1 point

I assure you there is no good news whatsoever regarding a Tennessean having a loaded firearm in MD, and since you aren't traveling according to FOPA, even unloaded with ammo in separate locked container could be problematic. Can you not go to Detroit instead? Equally dangerous, but at least you could pack. ;) - OS1 point

Here is my super secret squirrel method for buying and selling stocks. It helps if you live near Chattanooga. Once a week drive up I-24 and go past the Covenant Trucking dispatch yard. If there are a bunch of trucks sitting there sell. If the lot is empty buy. The trucks always park before a turn down gets noticed and they are among the first to get going when things are ready to pick back up. It has worked better than any other tool I've found.
