...you spend more time figuring out which guns to pack for a trip than you do your clothes, etc? I packed my suitcase of clothes in about 7 minutes yesterday, and it only took that long because I had to match up some socks from the laundry hamper. I've spent about twenty minutes tonight deciding on which guns and ammo to bring, and how/where to pack them all.6 points

Haha! I just added in my M&P 22 Compact and a brick of ammo in case I get to take the nephews shooting. :-)5 points

I can't tell you how much i enjoy this event every year. I've never been disappointed! This year, i got a box full of great gifts. Inside this (large) box, scattered among numerous other fantastic gifts, I found a nondescript thumb drive. I plugged this bad box into my computer and I now have the users manual to about every damn gun ever made. Beyond that, I've got 30-40 books on different guns, gunsmithing, shooting and about anything else you could imagine. I can now service and maintain many of my older (inherited) firearms in my collection. Before this gift, i didn't have the manuals. I can't thank my Santa enough. I hope you Christmas is filled with joy. (P.S.-Santa, shoot me a private message. I would love to thank you in person one day.) Pictures or it didn't happen.................3 points

I would like to see the person capable of throwing a case of ammunition from the road to my porch. The exterior box looked perfect so I think it was just used as a giant baby rattle. It wasn't exactly packed well either. The shipping container was a lot bigger than the case of ammunition yet there was not any packaging materials to keep the ammunition form moving around. SGAmmo is taking care of it, I kept 200 rounds to load magazines for testing and sent the rest back for them to swap. In case no one knows this is the best self defense ammunition for 7.62x39. It is built like a typical varmint bullet with a pre scored jacket to help expansion. Penetration less than 12" in gel while still working great on hard targets like glass, car doors etc. Today I plan on doing some expansion tests if I have time. The original 8M3 dried up about 15 years ago and has been sought after ever since. SGAmmo had the original manufacturer of the bullet do a run of bullets. Then SGAmmo paid Tula to load this ammunition with the 8M3 bullet. They also have sealed primer pockets and case mouths. As soon as I make sure it performs as intended I will be buying a few more cases.3 points

10 years ago I bought a BERSA Thunder .380. It was my first semi-auto. Early on I shot it quite a bit. Lately not so much. It's relegated to SUV truck gun status in a small essentials bag. Decided to take it to the range earlier in the week. Shoot up the 5 mags of ammo, clean it up and reload with fresh. I had forgotten what a joy it is to shoot and how well I shoot it. It went through 40 rounds of JHP without a missed beat. I probably have 800 reliable round through it now. My Brother in Law brought his stainless Walther PPKs and we both did better with the BERSA and the trigger on the BERSA is "better" than the Walther. What a great gun.2 points

As someone who has worked in transportation for a very long time for multiple companies (including FedEx), I can tell you that most of the issues people have are terminal specific. In other words, the service depends greatly upon the personnel at the facilities through which the freight/packages move. Every different company runs a very similar system to every other. The people are what make most of the difference; however, every company is going to have issues and mistakes and damages and lost freight, etc. As long as human beings are involved, there will be human error. I have had separate customers on the same route serviced by the same driver both hate us and love us. One guy thinks we are the worst carrier in the world, but his neighbor just down the street thinks we are the best. That is just the nature of the business. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk2 points

Got mine today. A very well made tire gauge (Which I truly needed since I couldn't find mine last week) and a under desk gun magnet. This is perfect now I can get my gun out of my desk drawer. Already tried the gun and it holds it very well. Now to mount it to my desk. Thanks secret Santa. Perfect gifts.2 points

I marked my property lines with orange flag tape just for that reason. My neighbors don't mind but I would rather be on the safe side seeing as there is an agent out here that will always take the extreme view on things.2 points

This is my first venture into this offering. It's awesome. I know....shhhh Honestly since Elmer T is almost non existent now this is every bit as good. A great comparison. Although a bit more cash.2 points

My UPS guy leaves the packages inside my garage, no kidding. I have a normal door next to the garage door, sometimes its locked sometimes its not, he will always place them inside if unlocked. He also gives my dog a snooby snack or something. He always greets me as Mr. Runco. I have a really nice cool one!2 points

Liked that S&W CORE set up so much, I replaced the EDC with a mini-version Extension was just for giggles, have an x-grip on a 17 rounder. Up in the air about having the slide milled and installing one of those Burris optics on it too since I've got free extras coming in from that rebate thing. just not sure on it yet.1 point

I think this is pretty reckless advice, especially given to a 19 year old who is obviously very eager to carry a loaded handgun. Good luck to anyone trying to convince an officer or game warden that the loaded Glock 19 on your hip is for "snake protection." As OS alluded to earlier, that section you reference encompasses weapons other than firearms, and the exception to fishing/camping is most likely directed at knives, not handguns. I think we should err on the side of caution when giving advice to a youngster who is trying to understand the law. You are giving very far-fetched defenses to an act that could get him into a lot of trouble.1 point

I wish I could say thanks but the photo of the Enfield variants is one I snatched off the the interwebz. I do have a 1964 Ishapore Mk III though?1 point

Well, mother nature decided to smile, or grin, on me today, about 8ish I spot my first doe, but she is silhouetted on the ridge, with the road and some trailers behind her so no shot. A few minutes later I spot her, or a different doe, but this time she is traveling toward my hunting zone. So I put the scope on her to line up a clean shot when I spot a second deer further up. I thought it was a wee bit bigger so now I'm in a quandary, I'm hunting for a small doe but now am thinking maybe I should take the bigger one, and in the back of my mind I'm thinking maybe it's a buck. So they both move around me, they started at about my 7 o'clock and couldn't really get clean shot until they reached my 11:30 or so. By that time, I know there are no antlers on either one, and they're small, so now I will go for whichever gives me the best profile for a DRT attempt. Well, the "bigger" of the two is the one so I line up a neck shot and fire, down it goes. But it lands behind a big tree so no follow up shot which I thought it may need since it was kicking a bit. The other deer jumped and ran up the hill when I shot but circled around to check on the other one, giving me some real good angles...but, I was only after one more so even though I scoped her, and thought about it, I gave her a pass. So after all that, I get to the downed deer and it's a button buck, again. I don't know how you guys do it, but at the 100 yard distance, and 4 power, there was no way I could spot those buttons, heck, I can't even count points on bigger bucks most times. Not that I feel bad or anything, they taste great, but I would rather of harvested does instead of button bucks.1 point

I must thank you again, this is just the type of information I was looking for. Perhaps waiting for a second generation of this might be better. My shooting, the bulk of it anyway, is usually indoors. So that sort of takes the Mepro FT unit off the table for me now.1 point

Where can I get a cow permit? They're all over the place around here. Easier to shoot than deer and lots more meat! Correct on the 18 to possess answer. Carry permits for under 21 are ONLY for members of the military and veterans! (http://www.lexisnexis.com/hottopics/tncode/ 39-17-1351) Be careful as most police aren't really as knowledgeable on gun laws as you might think. Gun laws are very complex and there is a lot of misinformation out there. The best source for accurate information on TN firearms laws is the Tennessee Firearms Association. The TFA was responsible for getting TN the Handgun Carry Permit in the first place, as well as all of the positive changes in the firearms laws since then.1 point

I was looking at a bottle of this the other day, but picked up a few more bottles of Booker's before the upcoming huge price increase. I'll have to consider picking up a bottle of the John J Bowman single barrel the next time I see it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk1 point

I have to agree with Garufa. What little evidence we have so far screams of Lee Enfield though.1 point

Yeah, I did not even have a truck or trailer at that point. Sad, growing up we only heated with wood. We would hire out clearing fence rows and trimming trees. We got paid and used the wood to burn. Any good hard wood got sold as firewood and we burned all the small stuff and "junk" We would work all summer to get enough wood to run the winter. Then spend the fall splitting it.1 point

Hahaha my job had an exit application before I quit, they asked why are you leaving the company.. I filled it out as "Moving to America", HR called me about 24 hours later and wanted an explanation as to what that meant.1 point

I have been keeping my eye open for a .357 or .38 revolver for a while. Not a rush, but I like them. My Dad has a Smith .45 Model 1917 that I grew up around. So preference was on a Smith or a Colt. Finally found a guy who said he had a Smith & Wesson Model 10 to trade. Met him and traded. From my research this did not look like a Model 10, but looked good anyway. Got home and started digging. Looks like I am the new owner of a Smith & Wesson .38 Military & Police square butt model from the early- to mid-1920s (probably 1924/25). All the Serial numbers match, but the grips are not original. Apparently they are from the '30's and are even rarer than the ones that are supposed to be on it. I had a guy at the Smith forum immediately offer to swap me the correct ones and "a dollar or two extra." I politely declined. All in all I think I got the better end of the deal. I think he thought he just had some old revolver to get rid of. Went and shot it yesterday just out in a field and everything ran smooth. Gave her a good cleaning last night. Gonna test accuracy at the range next time. Also, looking for a nice leather holster for her to live in. The generic Uncle Mikes he gave me with it does not do this gun justice. Just wanted to share my excitement. Rarely do I get this lucky.1 point

I think it's typically the best value on the shelf. It's one of the "always have" bottles for me. It's really good. I think it was $39 at Red Dog. Well worth it1 point

Oh now, you could pour it in some fancy decanter and tell them is was distilled in some backwoods craft distillery. They'd trip over their beards and flannel to get more.1 point

Oh not me, I refuse to pay it on principle alone, for silencers or SBRs. The idiocy of the entire GCA bugs me, only the well off can play...BS. Then they insult us again by authorizing "pistols" and "braces" and telling us use doesn't change a gun into a rifle, but don't shoulder a brace, oh no thats bad. SMH!1 point

Just picked these up tonight. The Clyde Mayes was on sample and was fantastic so I bought it. The Leadslingers... it's probably rot-gut but I've heard too much hype so I'm going to find out for myself. It certainly doesn't have much of a pedigree. [emoji38] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point
