  1. Yeah that might be the most troubling part of this story, that the officer is standing there holding a gun that he thinks is unloaded.

  2. Some 17 year old kids walking home from the store are no threat at all...some are murderers (or at least are willing to be). I've looked "deep into myself" and I'm fine with "me". The only thing I'm "predisposed" to do is not snap to ANY judgment about anybody's guilt or innocence. You weren't there...I wasn't there...the 911 operator wasn't there but I'm fairly certain that if the DA feels he has enough evidence to get a conviction he'll proceed with charges; if he doesn't then I suppose I'm predisposed to think that the shooting was justified.

  5. It seems relatively simple to me. If they can forbid you from having a firearm in your locked car, then they can forbid you from having a Bible in it, or political literature, or even from listening to talk radio once you drive onto their property. Where does it end? They are ignoring the fact that your car is YOUR property. As long as it stays in your car, what business is it of theirs?

  6. Can't be true. There are no guns in Chacago, it's illegal!

  7. Right! I don't carry a weapon to try to save the world, only as protection for myself and family/friends who may be with me at any given time.

  8. Considering the situation if those two men robbed the store and ran out of the building. If you pulled your gun out you would probably be arrested too BEING that NO ONE was in imminent danger of serious bodily injury or death as they were fleeing. Confronting them with DEADLY FORCE as they leave will only WORSEN the situation and cause harm that could have been avoided had they been allowed to flee. Keep in mind that the only time you can display DEADLY FORCE is to DEFEND yourself or third party if they are in IMMEDIATE danger of serious bodily injury or death. If they are running away they present neither unless they were to car jack you and your son. If that happen to me I would never be able to forgive myself for putting my son in danger like that. I would have kept my distance, called 911 with suspicious activity, and try to be the best witness as possible.

  9. The only problem I see with your argument is that it makes sense.

  10. It just keeps coming. It's getting hard to ignore. Even those who have ignored the issues are becoming skeptical, and the skeptical are getting downright cynical. It takes Sooooo Loooooong to trigger folks' concern, but the administration provides sooooo muuuuuuch material that it becomes impossible to ignore.

  11. I have conversations sometimes with the 9 year old grandson about different scenarios and what we would do. He wishes there were zombies so he could snipe 'em. And he also told me he would rather be a zombie than be dead because zombies get to walk around anyway.

  12. This is why I will always inform them. I have lots of respect for that job, and most of the individuals that do it. Why give them one moment of anguish when they're doing something that I support? And yeah, a few of them are boneheads, just like anything else.

  13. You're dam straight some people won't accept Obama or any other socialist sob as president and anyone that thinks it's because of his race is part of the problem. It's not his race, it's his politics. Glenn

  14. ^^This One note on national parks is that buildings where actual NPS employees (aka rangers) work are off-limits, sign or not. I don't think I have seen a building where they work that wasn't posted with a gunbuster, but it's not required. A gift shop or snack bar operated by a contractor would have to be posted, but a visitor center or ranger station is off-limits posted or not. All state parks are good-to-go. City parks have to post except that Nashville and Knoxville (any others?) city parks are off limits even without a proper sign. Confused yet? Thank a legislator.

  16. The rule of have "members only" parking at a club is not the Issue here in my opinion . Paying your money (in this case 30.00) to shoot a match and then having someone pull your score sheet after the match is over and never telling you that this could happen is poor judgement and the issue here. If I don't park in the right spot tell me face to face that you are going to keep my money and my score sheet then I will decide to move, shoot or communicate. If a shooter breaks a safety rule or some other DQ'able offense, more power to you. The shooter deserves to forfeit match fees and scores and hopefully no one got hurt. If someone parks in wrong spot and get what amounts to a DQ, whats next? Wear the wrong color shirt and get kicked of the range forever? Seems a bit over the top.

  18. We don't always get what we want. I can hear the drums in the distance. People will choose 1911's over Glocks for many reasons. *It's all they know, and don't want to know any better *They're convinced JMB was something supernatural and to be worshipped. *They're convinced the .45 will hit a man in the hand and knock him to the ground *They think they are prettier than a Glock......Okay, they win that one. *They think on paper accuracy is equal to practical accuracy therefore the 1911 is much more accurate than a Glock *I've even met a couple who think they are more reliable. *They put too much faith in "You get what you pay for" therefore a $3500 MUST be better than a $600 gun.

  19. No matter how stupid we think the law is it is still a law. And that law must be enforced regardless of who breaks it. And think about this, from now on anytime someone does enter these school grounds, or perhaps any school grounds, armed they can use this ruling as precedent to have their charges dismissed. Probably a good thing as I do not believe the current law protects anyone. If they really wanted to protect the children and stafff they would allow the staff to carry in a safe, yet easily accessible, manner. Dolomite
