  1. I listen to 8-10 hours of both left and right talk radio while at work (almost all on Sirius/XM), and I'm convinced that the right is overly concerned with social issues like gay marriage, abortion, religion, etc. I'm also convinced that instead of minding their own business, this will cause the Republican party to lose more and more elections over time, eventually making themselves the third-party. I've always considered myself to be a Republican, but I've found myself drifting away, as of late. We, as a country have many problems, but the queers and baby-killers aren't even remotely close to the top of that list. Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2

  2. Love it! Thanks for posting. But of course everybody in their right mind, you know the ones that truly love America, should vote for Romney, because he is a republican after all.

  7. If BHO gets another term, there will never be a more conservative candidate than Romney with a chance to win, at least until The Crash. The Dems will tip the balance for their perpetual on-the-teat voting majority as things slide further and over 50% are beholden to the fed. If Romney gets in, there's a chance for more conservative presidents down the road, even one to defeat Romney himself after four years, or at least to quicken the conservative pace after 8. - OS

  8. Is life comfy for you after 4 years of Obama? Does he make you feel more secure? Do you like him and think he is personable and charming as President? Do you think he has led our country in the right direction and will lead the country in the right direction if he is re-elected to 4 more years? With Obama as President, do you feel he will not impose more gun control restrictions, and will not try to assualt the 2nd Amendment if re-elected? Do you believe your life will be better in 4 years if Obama gets re-elected? Do you believe America will be a better country as a result of Obama's leadership? Do you believe your healthcare will be better as a result of Obamacare? Seniors, do you believe you will have good healthcare as you become elderly. Do you believe you will still be able to receive knee and hip replacements under Obamacare? Do you believe your healthcare will be cheaper under Obamacare? Do you believe you will still be able to drive big cars and trucks if Obama stays in office? Do you still believe your heating and cooling bills will still be relative cheap with Obama as President? Do you believe that you will still be able to keep your small business operating if Obama is re-elected? Do you believe race relations are better now than before Obama became President? Do you believe our Arab relations are better with Obama President.? Do you believe Obama has strained our relations with our best ally Israel in the Middle East? Do you believe Obama is cooking up something with Russia's Putin if he gets re-elected? Do you believe under the leadership of Obama that the US is heading toward becoming reduced from being a superpower? Do you believe Obama has and is transforming America into a socialist/communist country? Do you believe Obama is anti-capitalism? All you RP and GJ supporters; are you really happy with the direction of our country that Obama is taking it? Do you believe that America can withstand 4 more years of Obama as President? Would you be happy if America crumbles to its knees from 4 more years of Obama's Marxist policies? If you really love America, would everyone consider uniting behind Romney to ensure that Obama does not get 4 more years of transforming America into Amerika?

  9. Over the last week I have spent my free time doing a little research. This was sparked partially due to excess free time and partially due to the discussions over Ron Paul supporters and Romney supporters from previous threads. I used web sites and radio programs offered by both sides. It started with the shooting in Aurora, that happened to be the day I was driving to Florida so I had 12 hours in the truck and XM radio. The Left: I listened to channel 127 on XM to hear the views and opinions of the left. I do not remember specific show names or host with one exception, Allen Combs. I noticed quite a bit of foul language and belligerence at first, enough so I changed the station due to the fact my children were with me. There wasn't a lot of coverage of the shooting from their side while I was listening. Impression from Radio 1. I found out that If a Chicken restaurant owner expresses his personal views on marriage he and his company are bigots. I called in to the Allen Combs show and asked if he did or did not feel that it was simply the owners use of free speech and not company policy. He agreed but ensured me that there has to be a slew of litigation against the company for discriminatory policies and with some digging I can find them. 2. Asked Allen Combs if he could tell me 3 things he disliked about Obama and 3 things he liked about Romney. I intended to ask him to give me 3 likes and dislikes on Ron Paul but he cut me off before I had the chance to ask it. His statement on the likes and dislikes of Obama and Romney was that he can't tell me how to vote and I need to research it myself. I didn't remember asking him to help me figure out who to vote for but, whatever. 3. I found out that if you are from the North and want a Job as a Truck Driver your SOL. Apparently you have to speak like a southerner and then can get a job driving. This was followed by the host and caller mocking southerners accents and how "stupid" we are. 4. The general impression I got of the right wing is they are always using the same old "tired" arguments and all people on that side are ignorant racist bigots. 5. The Right wing callers to Left wing radio programs seemed almost to good to be true. I would put money on it that it's staged to a certain extent for the effect the host is looking for. I could be wrong. Callers would say things like "Obama is a communist" etc, etc, and have no understanding of what communism is when asked. It seemed that none of them had any structure or facts to back their arguments and if they tried to explain they would be talked over and then hung up on. Impression from Internet 1. Gun owners are all nuts and that an arsenal (4 firearms) is something best left to the government. 2. The right doesn't understand that the 2nd Amendment is out dated. The 1st Amendment on the other hand isn't (Not sure the Founding Fathers had the internet in mind). 3. Obama isn't doing enough fund raising and they are worried about it. 4. An HCP holder in the Aurora shooting would just have shot innocent people and the bullets wouldn't have penetrated the shooters armor. You need NVG's for a smoke filled room, and If we don't get all firearms off the streets we will never be safe. The Right: Listened to NRA radio, Wilko Majority(I believe that's the name of it) and some Fox News talk. I don't believe it's necessary to go into how the right feels about any of the issues as I believe a large majority of the opinions expressed are covered in other threads. The biggest take away I have is the following, 1. People on AR15.Com can't spell or enunciate worth a #### and I felt stupider for reading some of their posts. 2. Every argument I heard seemed to be backed up with rational and intelligent discussion based off on facts pertinent to the situation. 3. There was a very good point on the UN weapons treaty basically stating they believe the U.S. asked for a 6 month extension simply to keep it from being a campaign issue for Obama. Overall I found myself spending more time on the right wing radio stations. Partially because I identify with more of the views and partially because it wasn't emotionally charged banter filled with disgusting language and mockery of others. I guess the final verdict is, no matter how much I tried to engage and research the views of the left I will never understand their points of view. I am also a racist, bigoted idiot and am too stupid to know that my views on any issues are wrong and the only way to deal with me is to throw something shiny at me to get my attention and distract me from what they plant to do anyway. For the record I would considered myself an Independent as I'm not a fan the 2 party system.

  12. While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old rancher, whose hand was caught in the squeeze gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to Obama and his role as our president. The old rancher said, 'Well, ya know, Obama is a 'Post Turtle''. Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him, what a 'post turtle' was. The old rancher said, 'When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle'. The old rancher saw the puzzled look on the doctor's face so he continued to explain. "You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, he doesn't know what to do while he's up there, he's elevated beyond his ability to function, and you just Wonder what kind of dumb ass put him up there to begin with." Best explanation I've heard yet

  15. They could have picked an old Vietnam vet with an eye twitch, and it would have been an improvement over what we have now. Abortion, homos, vaginas, and the 1% don't matter so much right now. Business growth matters. You can't accomplish that by building windmills, choking oil production, and all the bureaucratic clogs that are in place now. Romney may actually be the perfect guy. Firing dead weight is his specialty.

  19. To fully disassemble a classic 1911 (Series 70) the only place you need a tool is when you remove the mag release, requires something akin to a small flat bladed screw driver. Some 1911s come with guide rods that rquire an allen wrench or paperclip to get the thing fully disassembled. I've never disassembled a Series 80 with whatever is akin to the Schwartz device. I'll have to do that today. To fully disassemble a M&P you need a roll pin punch and hammer. And when you fully disassemble a M&P be very careful when you remove the sear, there is a tiny spring under the plunger that puts pressure on the sear. Also, if your M&P has the manual thumb safety be careful of that spring also, it is tiny and has pressure on it. I know, I launched one at the M&P Armorer's course and we never did find that one. It is easier to put the sear spring and sear plunger back in with a small tweezers. Also on the M&P when you remove the rear sight make sure you pay attention to orientation of the disk that rests on the spring which puts pressure on the striker safety block. Convex side down.

  20. Heard a guy say the other day, "Fcuk man, nobody gives a cr*p about that stuff anymore, so why should I?!!" I just looked at him and said, "I dunno... Maybe just to let the rest of the world know that you're not nobody?" Bottom line, neither common courtesy, nor common sense are all that common anymore. Those of us who were raised up to have and display both are obviously in the minority in this day and age. But you know something? That's a minority I will proudly claim as my heritage and continue to work at until the day I die.

  21. I'm sure I don't see every posting. I know of two that I've missed. I carry everywhere I go. Why would I stop carrying when I go to the movies? If anything, the recent situation illustrates that the movie theater is a prime target for mass shooters. I don't understand all the hate on these guys. Sounds to me like they were doing the same thing most of us normally do. They didn't see the sign? So what?
    1 point
  22. I don't understand why some are criticizing the HCP holders. No charges and the quote from officers is revealing. "Police said the theater sign showing that weapons are prohibited was not large enough to be seen easily, so officers advised that it should be made more visible."

  23. Let's clear something up here. I fully support your right to post. I get that sometimes it's a decision motivated by finances, insurance rates say. However, we all here know that it won't stop a criminal. The people MOST likely to cause a situation by accident are generally the ones who will carry right past your sign anyway. I do grant that anyone can have an accident, and that if no legal guns walk in your door, you will not have an accidental shooting involving a legal gun. The thing is you seem to be defensive about your decision. Some people here have been a bit overboard I think in jumping your case. But lets be honest here. You are asking your customers to give up the majority of their ability to defend themselves and trust you to cover that slack. Not likely to fly with this crowd.

  24. Some thoughts. Some people kill courtesy and respect. Guy on talk radio has caller call him mister. Host says, don't call me mister, my dad is mister so in so. Just killed someone trying to show respect. Also, I've learned to give rude people the benefit of the doubt. No telling what they have been going through that day. Maybe a loss of a loved one. There are tons of inexcusable rude, disrespectful jerks out there, no doubt. On a positive note. I stopped to get gas in my truck one day. A somewhat elderly lady pulled up beside me at the opposite pump. She was dressed very nicely, dress, shoes, all. I asked if she would let me pump her gas seeings how she was so nice and clean, and after all I was in my work clothes. She allowed me to pump her gas. Afterward she humbly thanked me and then informed me she was on the way to her husbands funeral. Now this lady was in no way rude to me, but you just never know what kind of day someone is having. All the more reason to be nice and respectful to everyone, even the rude.

  26. Just don't lose that little butt tool thing to field strip it. You don't need a tool with a 1911. It's not my first personal choice, but the 1911 has a long history of being the "right handgun" for THAT gig. Semper Fi.

  27. I don't agree with you. The 1911 is a proven, battle tested platform. You cannot say the same, to the same degree that you can with a 1911. Plus, the 1911 is more accurate. I like the M&P and when my bank account allows it I plan on buying a .40 in that flavor, but for a main battle sidearm 1911 hand down, everyday! Semper Fi, Joe

  34. Left-wingers think they are naturally smarter than right-wingers. Right-wingers think they are naturally smarter than left-wingers. Both sides can be pompous. Each side accuses the other of lacking humor, imagination or creativity. Left-wingers think right wingers are mindless robots. Right-wingers think left wingers are mindless robots. Both left-wingers and right-wingers think libertarians are completely delusional mindless robots. Each side ascribes bad cultural connotations and lax personal habits to the other. According to right-wingers, left-wingers are dirty lazy hippies with loose morals and no discipline or self-respect, most likely stoned on pot or worse. According to left-wingers, right-wingers are inbred immoral lazy and violent toothless rednecks, most likely stoned on booze, meth, or worse. Both sides, by their attitudes, show that they think it is OK to look down on entire classes of people. I can't vouch for these graphs, but they are referemced here-- http://en.wikipedia...._(United_States) Notes indicate where the supporting data could theoretically be retrieved. Assuming veracity of the data, and that it is rather indisputable that even yokel institutions of higher learning are bastions of liberal brainwashing, it seems a testament to basic human orneryness that so many would have resisted the brainwashing to become republicans. Because the absolute difference has remained near-constant with rising numbers over time, the chart shows the ratio of college-educated R's vs D's diminishing over time. The "demographics" section of the above article goes into more detail. Supposedly there is parity between D's and R's with advanced degrees however 9 out of 10 college perfessors are D. One might infer that among people with ambition, work ethic and ability to receive advanced degrees, people inclined to be D's better-enjoy a university environment, and "move in" after graduating, rather than "moving out" into the real world? Though one must be bright and hard-working to attain high education, I reserve judgement whether "that is the only place you will find bright people." Many bright people do not enjoy school. The above demographics mean something about political orientation vs motivations, goals and tolerance for BS. But not airtight proof regarding the relative native intelligence of D's vs R's. Interesting nontheless because the demographics tend to invalidate left-winger's delusion that they are naturally smarter than right-wingers. But the data doesn't necessarily prove the reverse to be true either. In the immortal words of Han Solo, "Don't get cocky, kid!"

  36. I am better off, BUT it has nothing to do with who is in the White House! I have taken a career path that allows me to make money on my merits and how hard I work. No president will change that. I have also taken steps to ensure the safety of my family with regards to financial and physical. I place no merit in the president or the White House, just MY house. Now with that said, the president can make things harder for me by ways I limiting our energy resources, gun laws, and fiscal policy. I do not believe that this president has acted responsibly throughout his term and I also do not believe that he believes in American freedom. I do believe that he is a true Communist by his words and he doesn't have our best interest in mind. I will not be voting for him as I didn't the last time around. I do believe that Romney will run our county like a business and I think that he will do an OK job. I'm not thrilled by him but as a poster said above, "he's the lesser of two evils."

Like I said in another thread ones a sh$& sandwich, the others a soggy sh$& sandwich with mustard. I dont know I think my problem boils down to wanting what's right for our country and I honestly believe both are damn bear as bad as each other. 41. One of the commenters asked why "assault rifles" are being sold to civilians. Shows a true lack of understanding of the intent of the 2nd Amendment. It's not, and never was, about owing lots of guns or cool guns. It's about the populace being able to resist a tyrannical government, specifically back when armies used the same firearms as farmers.
