  1. GM still sells more cars than any company in the world. It would be an economic disaster for them to fail. They make bigger, better quality, cars and trucks than the imports. We ever get the import buyers that are still living in the 70’s back to the future and our economy will get better.

  2. Real men *put the toilet seat down *do not talk about sexual things in public *are FAITHFUL in all aspects to their mate *Would fight, kill and die for the loved ones they are charged with taking care of. They would do this without thought, pause, or remorse.

  3. What would have happened is that someone or several someones would have bought the company and ended the contracts they could no longer afford and make the company profitable again...that's how capitalism and the free-market works. The only people that would have ultimately lost their jobs would have been people that we not needed which is as it should be.

  4. Really? Do you all not think how bad off this country would have been if GM went under? They employ over 200,000 employees not counting all the satellite companies that supply parts for GM. If you think this recession is bad now, just think what if?

  5. My family owned GM vehicles for almost as far back as I can remember; at least since my Dad returned from WW2...all but a tiny few of my vehicles have beenGM vehicles. However, short of homeland security holding a gun to my head I'll never buy another one. If I ever buy another (ostensibly) domestic nameplate it will be a Ford and I don't even like Fords.

  8. When I was in college I got it into my head I was going to be a famous knifemaker and started making my own knives. Some came out really great, and those I'd have my "leather guy" make some decent leather made up for it to showcase my work. Those "good ones" I'd wear everywhere - even in my Sunday best. I got the fewest weird looks when the knife was more fully contained in the leather (maybe just a few inches of the handle actually uncovered) hanging horizontally at about 4 o'clock on my strong side. I always *felt* classier when the leather on the knife matched the leather of my belt, too. I haven't made a knife in ages and I prefer to carry a folder now for the same reasons that I prefer to conceal my handgun when I carry it, but I do occasionally carry one of my more fancy handled ones to parties.

  9. I agree with this 100% and am kinda mad that I didn't think of it myself.

  10. I don't need a knife to fight off Ninjas or Samuraii, what I need is a good tool. I use my EDC knife to open packages, open beer bottles and tighten screws. I used to carry my scout knife but that was given to #1 son when he joined scouts, I then carried a Victorinox "SWAK", the old red scaled one with a small tool box enclosed. I recently discovered the Original Issue SWAK and fell in love with it. I have both the Wegner Original Issue SWAK and a Victorinox Pioneer which is the same knife but without the key ring bail (a rivet is used instead). I now EDC the Victorinox Pioneer. It is all I need in a knife and pretty compact to carry.

  11. Almost everything I know about being a real man is covered by Rudyard Kipling in "IF" (http://www.kipling.org.uk/poems_if.htm). Of course others would say real men don't read poetry, though.

  13. Acronis True Image. Restore your computer to whenever you like. Reformats, reimages the drive, no need to reload OS or programs, takes about an hour on an average computer. Saved my butt a few times at home and at work.

  15. "A human being [man] should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects." Lazarus Long, in Time Enough for Love by Robert Heinlein One of the great characters of science fiction by one of the greatest writers of all time. (Corrected. 16. Don't hate her, but I do find her irritating. But I got to agree with OS, that she ain't going anywhere. Best to marginalize her, by voting in a filibuster proof republican majority in both houses along with Romney.

  17. After Weiner stepped on his own goober, she has become the most personally irritating person in Washington, even worse than Pelosi. Though her politics are loathsome, she'd grate on my nerves in a personal sense if she were a conservative Republican, she's that bad. Doesn't look like even an outside chance to unseat her though, population is a Dem wet dream: "Florida's new 20th district voting age population is 48.9% non-Hispanic Blacks (includes multirace), 29.5% non-Hispanic Whites (single race), 17.4% Hispanic (excludes Hispanic Blacks), 1.2% Hispanic Blacks (includes multirace), and 3.1% other races (non-Hispanic)" - OS

  19. He's been using the alias "Mike Hunt" and the email 115fmj@gmail.com when emailing me. This guy emailed me a couple days ago. Saying all the same garbage he said to others. I responded by telling him to go (you know what) himself. He then sent another email and I responded by just telling him he was an idiot. He sent another email today, but I just ignored it. That seems to be the best remedy for this. I removed my phone number from Armslist as soon as I got the first email from him, so he couldn't call me or get any personal information. If this guy called you and talked about your kids, etc I would definitely be contacting law enforcement. That duck wouldn't hunt with me. I am fine with someone talking a little trash because I can just ignore it, but when they even begin to mention my family I will be on them like stink on sh*t.

  21. They look harder than a bag of d**ks. Bet they weren't lookin' so bad azz when they were on the receiving end of that AR. The owner should sue the crap out of these two that survived and the family of the dead one for destroying the front of his store and make them pay for the ammo.

  22. While I don't agree with much of your beliefs, I often try to offset you with a +1 when folks come by and -1 ya. Nearly all of them were just folks that disagreed with you politically, not because of a wrongful action on your part.

  23. Not really the point. There shouldn't be an excuse for it either way. The beginning of a customer-business relationship shouldn't be one of suspicion towards the patron. If I were managing the place I'd be worrying more about losing money on customers not returning than busting folks for unauthorized snacks that they otherwise wouldn't have purchased at the concessions. This equation stands to only lose money, not gain any. But then again, I get the impression that movie theaters aren't looking to attract customers like me and that's okay. My feelings aren't hurt. I'll continue to use Netflix while the movie theater industry continues to lose money.
