  1. Yes I have. I mentioned in another post somewhere on here. It was my FIL wanting .22lr. Long story short, I told him, "oh no, you voted for this joker, you're on your own."

  2. Just picked it up today. FNH FN Five Seven and 100rds of ammo: I understand this gun gets a ton of hate and starts pissing matches all over the web. Don't care. You either like it or not. I happen to like it.

  5. I have upgraded the Tapatalk mobile app add-on this morning to the latest version.  This version fixes the extra HTML line-break issue but we've noticed elsewhere that it causes the preview to constantly show the first post in the thread on the mobile app, rather than showing the latest post in the thread.  I'm sure the developers will drag their feet on getting this fixed the same way that they drag their feet on fixing everything else.   Seriously, while  I enjoy the convenience of the app as do most of you, the Tapatalk programmers are the world's worst.  They suck at bug-checking and validating their changes before shoving it out to the consumer.   Enjoy yet another crappy release from them!

  8. I don’t claim to be an expert on the laws of all 50 states, but I’m pretty comfortable with my own interpretation of the use of deadly force that I think would protect me from a criminal conviction in all 50 states.   If me, or someone around me is in immediate danger of death or great bodily harm; the use of deadly force is justified. While I (as a citizen) would not have fired on him I think the argument could be made that the immediate threat of death or great bodily harm was still in play with the perpetrator of a violent felony running with a gun in his hand. I wouldn’t want to have to go to trial to make that argument; but I don’t think a jury would convict.   If I was a cop I would have shot him dead just like the manager did and no one but the usual suspects that always question a cop shooting would have said anything about it.   Everyone in the area was in immediate danger of death or great bodily harm when the manager shot him.   As far as who fired first; unless the news story are wrong the Manager said he fired his weapon first.

  9. Either that or those particular models were never submitted for approval.  My understanding is that each sub-model, like a 10-5 or 10-6, has to be approved.  Craziness.

  10.   That is exactly what it is. These events are happening all over the city, from what I've read, not the hood. Rather than worry about tourists going armed, the city should be worried that tourism will cease completely in Chicago.  I wouldn't go there now for any reason.

  13. Is a $60,000 vehicle worth it?  A $15,000 vehicle will go faster than the law allows.   Only the buyer can determine if a automobile or a gun is worth the price.  Many factors are involved in that decision.

  15. I came to the conclusion that I had been hoarding too much ammo so I decided to sell some. I put an add on armslist and gunownersclub for 9/40/38 ammo for $20/50 rd box all of it was brass case fmj of reputable manufacturer. This was on average what I paid for it, I think I had closer to $17 in some of the 9mm. To make matters simpler I had $12 a box in some Viper 22lr 100rd boxes but decided I would post it for $20/100 as well. Ok here is what happened the center fire catridges sold all about evenly, I made a couple of dollars on the 9mm only. I probably lost a few dollars on the various .38's. The 22's were the last to sell, I met one guy who wanted two boxes of the four. When I met him I told him they were listed for $20 but $12 is all I needed for them. So he got two boxes for $25. So if a bunch of us will flood armslist, gunownersclub, and other sites with ammo for sale it will discourage resellers. If you get someone legitametly wanting a box sell it for less to help your fellow man.

  16. This will be my first time to see them in concert. Anyone else going?   I've been a fan for quite a while now, and I always said that if they ever came back to Nashville, I'm going.    Haven't been to a concert in decades. I'm expecting to see a mix of young and old there tonight.

  20. I was on patrol the other day and was doing paper work on a dead-end road near a wooded area. I just happen to look up and saw a 3 foot long very well built Lynx . It was beautiful !  I have never saw a Lynx in a long time here much less a huge one like this. It was a big healthy one.  Also I have noticed how Tennessee is getting lots of Armodillos here. In the last 8 yrs I have saw over 40 armodillos here in Middle Tn . Before 2002 I never saw any here in Tennessee.  I am in contact with TWRA a bunch durring my work time and I have heard that they have had several sightings of Cougars here too.

  21. And I don't get why my government would deliberately deny the validity of an HCP as valid identification. And I stand by my theory. If you flew as much as me and observed the indignities that I see my fellow citizens subject / Particularly seniors and children / you might feel differently.

  22.     I get tired of all the ignorant Memphis-bashing from Middle and East TN folks who have never lived in or near Memphis, but that is just plain funny.  On the other hand, the non-Memphis Shelby County IQ average would probably rival any other area in the state.

  25. $85 over MSRP-- glad to see at least that the prices are coming down a little bit... these guns were priced super-stupid about 4-5 months ago. I've seen them for as high as 2 x MSRP.   Thanks for the heads-up-- I really wanted one when they came out, but now they're a little further down on the list due to some of the operational glitches that they've had with the early models. I'll probably wait a little longer before taking the plunge.

  28.   You know, douglas adams was way underrated.  His stuff was funny, but I learned a lot from it.  What came to mind here was one of the guys had SEP glasses.  (Someone Else's Problem).  Whenever the wearer encountered something that was not his problem, the glasses blacked out to prevent having to look at/ deal with it.    I have worn a set of these (imaginary of course)  for decades now, its a way of life :)   Compassion is a good thing, but it is often misplaced.  There is a perfectly acceptable and inexpensive (even free) way to prevent having kids with someone you do not like.  And there are all sorts of ways to avoid getting married to a tyrant of a woman (or man).    I guess what I am saying is your compassion is misplaced.  This guy's problems are 100% self inflicted (as are most problems for most people).   If you feel a need to have compassion for someone, next time find some poor soul with terminal cancer and give them $500 instead --- it will be better spent.  Just my useless 2 cents.

  29. As long as there is a demand for something, there will be a black market/secondary market for it. The only way to minimize the effect of resellers is to either decrease the demand or flood the supply line.   Since the larger retailers (Wal-mart, Cabelas, Academy, Midway, etc) can't even keep ammo in stock, flooding the supply line is not currently an option. The bottleneck is at the manufacturing/distribution end.

So basically you want to shoot Bullseye with fishing vests?     Pass.  I might go shoot the occasional club match because it's close, but every new rule book has made IDPA worse, not better.   Now, get rid of the ridiuclously stupid retention load stuff and we're moving in the right direction.     DanO

  34. 39-11-611. Self-defense.   (e) The threat or use of force against another is not justified: (1) If the person using force consented to the exact force used or attempted by the other individual; (2) If the person using force provoked the other individual's use or attempted use of unlawful force, unless: (A) The person using force abandons the encounter or clearly communicates to the other the intent to do so; and (B) The other person nevertheless continues or attempts to use unlawful force against the person;   If the other person de-escalates you cannot use deadly force.\   39-11-621. Use of deadly force by private citizen. A private citizen, in making an arrest authorized by law, may use force reasonably necessary to accomplish the arrest of an individual who flees or resists the arrest; provided, that a private citizen cannot use or threaten to use deadly force except to the extent authorized under self-defense or defense of third person statutes, §§ 39-11-611 and 39-11-612.   So much for deadly force to affect a citizen's arrest unless the suspect escalates it, but you CAN be considered to be threatening deadly force if your gun is in your hand while running after a suspect. To some people's point, a suspect can turn, fire, and turn around again and thus catch the return fire in the back. Pretty much, there's not enough facts in the article to get anyone's panties in a bunch over it.

  43. The progressive, liberal, left wing, Socialist Marxist party has nothing but lies and deceit and a hand fed voter base to rely on to get their agenda pushed through.  Add that to a conservative party that tries to push the car down the road from all four sides at once and you can see where our freedoms and country are headed.

  45. I guess I will go along with what the DA decided when his office did not prefer charges based on the police investigation. And while just up and shooting someone in the back is generally not a good thing, the criminal got what was coming to him. I have NO doubt his death single handedly stopped his one man lifetime crime spree.
