  1. So I was installing a water line today at a very old, backwoods house and dug up something intresting. Its an 1851 Colt Navy pattern cap and ball. I disassembled it to a degree at lunch, it is complete except for the grips. Just thought Id share the coolest thing I ever dug up. My guess is its a reproduction, but not sure how to tell. It was a good 2 ft in the ground. Tapatalk ate my spelling.

  5. All I can say is when that guy in the White House Promised Change he meant it and now the people that voted for him are seeing it. I hope they are happy with his change and I hope everyone that voted for change gets to experience it.  Thing is I kinda liked the way it was before his change but I guess I was in the minority huh?

  15. Couple of my friends and I decided to make the drive to Georgia last week and visit as many of the film locations we could find. We managed to see a bunch of them. Some of the locations are off limits like the farm house which is privately owned, the prison is actually a studio set and the rock quarry is owned by the city of Atlanta and is posted. Other than that we seen a bunch. It's cool cause some of the locations are far apart but seem like they are just around the corner on the series and some are really close but seem far away in the series. We did visit "Woodbury" which is actually Senoia, GA. It was pretty fun driving the back roads of Georgia looking for these places. They have an app called GA walking dead tours and it's a do it yourself help guide. The town of Senoia is actually home to a bunch of different films and TV shows. We plan on going back soon and finding the new season locations and some we missed. In these pics I took a pic and combined it with either the scene pic from the movie or a pic that represents what it is. If you have seen the show you will know most of them. http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377955205429_zps97ecbaa4.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377996529299_zps84621ee0.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377996456966_zps8379e9a7.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377996415678_zps4b4cb508.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377996415678_zpsdfdf0546.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377995812996_zps596ec840.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377995656880_zpsfa6ea842.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377995415753_zps2bf9382e.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377994637659_zpsf5ea872a.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377994423355_zpsd0c92b2e.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377994143389_zps71d91692.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377990001880_zps9554e65d.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377982982894_zpse4ce0c9c.jpg http://i525.photobucket.com/albums/cc340/bean962/PhotoGrid_1377982935360_zpsa5e4cc7c.jpg

This crap of voting things in and being exempt from it is a recipe for eliteness. "Do as I say", "I know whats best for the common man" type attitude needs to go ASAP. You vote it, you live it. Ok, I'm back from my fantasy land now.

Ted Cruz in his filibuster against funding Obamacare, just read "Green Eggs and Ham" to the gathered august body of blowhards.  His punchline was perfect:  "I do not like Obamacare with a fox in a box, or with a mouse in the house."  That's putting it on their level.

NPR will piss you off on a regular basis, also, but it's the best game in my area for news in the morning, (just keep your BS filter up to date), and I like Car Talk on the weekends while I'm in the shop. Plus I can't stand pop-rap-new country&western (hahaha), indie rock, etc, etc.  A solid hour of Rush and Hannity just annoys me, also.

  32. Interesting to me as more governments join and/or ratify this treaty- knowing that the government-to-government back-door arms trades have always been "outside the law",  this law can only serve to widen the power-gap between governments and the citizens those governments should be serving.   Ominous.   Let me also say, that I am absolutely for.. for... for compassion - for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all members of the human race.  It breaks my heart to see people in pain from violence - no matter who they are or where they are.  I want kids, women, and men to be safe in all countries, BUT... effectual stability, safety, and security (and root morality) will always be a local cultural issue - it has never been governmental and will never be.  Governments (the systems, not the individuals) are designed to rule... and if left unchecked, the system will work to bring every experience under that rule.     Intersting about the United Nations... it generally lacks oomph to effectively adjudicate and regulate government entities that offend, so it has resorted to encouraging governments (many of whom are not egregious offenders) to regulate their own citizens.     I don't buy into sinister conspiricy theories; I simply think the systems are functioning as they were designed - what are missing are effective checks and balances.   The world  - through increased population and technology is increasing in complexity.  (IT & programmers, check me on this) Whenever you increase the complexity of a system, you have to increase the structure (rules) to maintain stability and functionality.   Not to over-bibliocize this - but in wisdom literature, you can look to the Christian Scriptures:  Israel asked for a King - their God said, "You don't know what you are asking; trust me when I say, you don't want a King."  Israel essentially demanded, "Yes, give us a King!!"  - Israel got their kings and -through good and bad kings, Israel paid the price for giving their collective representation over to a King.      In societies' desire for safety and security, masses of people are asking for a King - more rule of law - to keep them safe.  Many of us are responding... "You don't know what you are asking; trust me when I say, you do not want a King."    Orwell much anyone?

  33.   This is why I made that statement earlier Dave.  I will comment on it only because it was directed at me.  With all due respect Dave, I do, at times, question your reading comprehension.  On this thread, as well as many others, I have never suggested that we overthrow the government, or that it is even warranted, at this time.  I feel that it is very safe to say the same thing regarding some of the other major contributors in these threads, AR, JayC, Punisher, etc...  I will let them speak for themselves if I am in error, but I don't believe I am.  Granted, there are some that might chime in that armed resistance is what is needed now.  I usually dismiss such talk as frustration without thinking.    I am certain that you despise Obama more than the rest of us; you have stated such numerous times.  That is good, but the problem isn't just Obama.  It is my contention, as well as many others, that Reid, Pelosi, Schumer, McCain, Graham, and many others are just as bad or dangerous as Obama.  I, like yourself, believe the correct course of action is through the voting booth.  By getting more people engaged in the political process we can fix this mess within a few election cycles.  Just look at the success of the Tea Party over the last several years.  We have some really good Republican congressmen, and senators like Cruz, Paul, Lee, and a few others are great.  They are what we have needed for a long time.  If we can get more people like those above elected to office, things might turn around rather quickly.   All that said, if we continue down the same course without any correction, as TMF and I talked about in another thread, we will eventually hit a threshold where we will have no political recourse to counter the rampant infringement of our rights.  At that time, utilization of other methods to secure our rights and liberties may become necessary.  If such a statement makes me a terrorist in your mind, then so be it.    As a side note, I have never been in the military, and I have never experienced the theater of war.  I have never seen firsthand the brutality that always accompanies war.  However, I have read vivid accounts of what occurs in battle, and I also know what it would look like if it ever happened in this country.  Do I believe that armed resistance is the correct course of action at this time?  Do I hope for such action in the future if all other methods fail?  I don't know how I can be more clear than giving a resounding  HELL NO!

  37. Ratified or not, there is legal precedent that the executive branch honors all treaties once signed. The treaty could still be used as support for more executive orders. It's another way to circumvent the constitution and checks and balances.

  38. I'm not getting personal. You have multiple people, including myself, who attempted to explain to you how the industry works in order to give you insight. I haven't worked in that industry since George Bush took his oath of office, so I have nothing to gain by servers getting or not getting tips. We simply were responding to your original post, which you have shown you don't care to acknowledge those points, so really this thread was created for no other reason other than for you to complain about folks who get their wages from tips. I will now get personal though. The reason you have such a disdain for the system as it exists is because you resent folks making good money that you don't feel they have earned, and I detect a little envy in there too. You have zero ability to make such judgments about these workers because you have not worked in the industry and clearly don't value the perspective of those who have. You just want to be mad that they expect tips for service. In all my time serving I can't remember ever complaining about tips other than people who stiffed me. I had an old lady who would come in every day at lunch, take up a two top for over an hour as she read a book and would only order a coffee. Each time I got a quarter for a tip. The same table would have earned me around 5 bucks for the same amount of time. I never complained, was never poor with my attitude or service to her. It's part of the job. Also, I've know dozens of servers and I know what goes on behind the scenes. Yeah, we complain about tips sometimes to each other, but that isn't the norm. The folks who habitually complained about tips weren't good servers, which is why they didnt get good tips, and they never lasted long. The perception that servers are on,y out to get your hard earned money with the expectation of over-the-top tips exists only in your own head. For this reason I have determined you can't be confused with facts or perspective from those who know better, therefore this thread is nothing more than your own personal bitch session to vent you prejudice against those who live on tips. Carry on.

  46. I don't see what anyone would gain in antagonizing an LEO over something as simple as a request for ID. If you aren't doing anything wrong, what's lost besides a few minutes of your time? You may wind up having a pleasant conversation and making a friend. If you're a jackass and put up a fight over showing some ID, what is there to possibly gain?
