  1.   There... since we are talking about Dick's, I fixed it for you.

  2. I have had the TGO lower sitting in the safe look at me every time I open the safe. I was at the show this weekend and found a builder there that built me a pistol upper for $275 otd. So I figured it was time to use the lower. I headed to another vendor that had complete blemished pistol tube and buffer for $20. I did not pick up a LPK because I figured I could find one for the same price at a LGS. I was running out of time so I passed on that and went home. I had some free time so I went to my new favorite shop and picked up a RRA LPK. I got home and was a little tenitive to start on it because I had 4 kids to take care of and I usually only have 15ish mins before the Screams of daddy start. This was my first ever lower assembly, I figured it would take me longer my first time. I started by following a write up on how to assembly it, before I knew it I was done! I did learn 2 things: 1 take off rings before starting. 2. ARs are insanely easy to build! I can't wait to start the next one. I will have pics up in the next day or so.

  4. I would have flagged you if I'd seen your ad. Sorry I missed it.   Congrats on $100 for reselling to people so desperate/foolish they paid your prices. Maybe if folks like you keep it up we can have a manufactured 22lr crisis for years to come.

  5. I'm not trying to put anyone out of business or judge anyone who still shops there. I just choose not to spend MY money at any place that chooses to screw over their customers at the drop of the hat. Think of it as a positive. I guarantee you will never have to compete with me to purchase an item at Dick's or CTD.

  6. I'll buy from Dicks, CTD, S&W, Ruger, Troy, whoever. My firearms bucks are predominately apolitical -- if they're selling weapons or weapons related stuff at all, I can only see it as a overall plus, the more the better.   I'll let other folks attempt to put all the places that don't live up to the nth level of their 2A expectations out of biz.   - OS

  7. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that to be 100% legal when selling someone a firearm in TN, you need to do two things: #1 - Ask the buyer if they are legally allowed to own a firearm in the state of Tennessee and/or if they are a convicted felon #2 - Ask them if they are a resident of Tennessee   Legally, you do not have to actually see their DL or HCP, just ask them if they are a resident of TN.....but just to cya,  it's a good idea to ask to see their DL or HCP anyway.   Anything else, like a bill of sale, is up to you. Personally, if the gun I'm selling is one that I picked up privately and did not have to sign a bill of sale for, then I will not require a bill of sale when I sell it. If it's a gun that I bought new from a dealer or one that I had to sign a bill of sale for, then I will require a bill of sale when I sell it.

  9. Am I the only one who noticed that the S&W model 19 was the best all around gun in its day, and now the Glock model 19 is the best all around gun in its day? Something about that model 19, no mattet who makes it

  10. That is a fair price. Glad you found a good deal. They seem to be fewer and fewer these days.   Unfortunately I hold a grudge for a long time. As far as I'm concerned Dick's can choke on themselves.

  16.   Yeah, statute says only if "knowing or having reasonable cause to believe" it is stolen.   About the only way a sting can work on a buyer, like "hey I've got this great .357 heater, pretty sure it was stolen, so I can make you a great deal on it!"   - OS

  17. Disagree with your first statement. But it's a free market. You support 'em with your dollars. They won't see mine.   I do strongly agree with your second statement. Len Horiuchi is a soulless murdering piece of crap and Dale Monroe was his evil little sidekick. They both deserve the firing squad.

  21. Another easily made explosive is TATP. It is also EXTREMELY detonation sensitive. There are plenty of cases of it being detonated from walking across the dust on the floor. I personally would never think about trying to make it but the ingredients are found in almost any store.

  23. I would support it if there were a problem.   I sure won't be protesting over that brown case;  the officer was seriously injured and the deceased was a thuggish criminal.    Police brutality is shooting or beating people who are not violent.   I have not seen large numbers of cases of this in my town or even nationally.   Now and again, it does happen -- usually the offending officer is in serious trouble when it does happen.

  25. My wife went to the bring up the garbage can one day and as soon as she touched the handle, a pack of wasps swarmed her. They were all around a pine tree we have, so i figured they were just near the area, so I went to check it out. I started to grab the trash can and "Did you check that door for heat?" popped in my head. So I booted the can.    For record, i can run faster than I thought...... they made a nest the entire width of the can under the handle.   I came back with two cans of 25' stream wasp killer and had myself a shootout. My neighbor came outside laughing because i was in the street shooting them out of the air while back pedaling away.   Didn't get hit!

  27. Distance distance distance, if he was closer than 15 yards or so he was in the danger zone.  A badly pitted plate contributes to bullet or plate fragment ricochet so there will come a time when the plates should be replaced.  For the average shooter these plates last for years if not a lifetime, club plates may see a 2-3 year lifespan depending on what gets shot at it and how many.

  29. Doesn't matter to me at all.  I always make an effort to perform due diligence to make sure any gun I've bought privately isn't stolen.  But even if it was, I'd accept a charge of buying stolen property if that means I'm alive to be charged.

  31. I’m not sure why you think it would matter? Where the gun came from will have zero impact on a shooting and I don’t really think my carry gun is going to be confiscated for any period of time unless I’m going to trial, in which case the cost of the gun will be pretty insignificant compared to lawyer bills.

  33. I had to pick something laughable out of this crap going on...so here it is.   I would wager that upper 90% of the people down there voted for obama twice. Everyone knows how he stands on guns whether they want to admit it or cover it up. If guns are not allowed for the citizens, that leaves one option for safety <dramatic pause> Cops! And they hate them! LMAO! I feel like I'm reading a comedy that has nothing funny in it. Willing to support someone who wants to take away something black people were not allowed at one time, just because he's the same color as them (well half of him anyway). Unbelievable.

  34. Good luck. If you find them for sale locally I would buy a lottery ticket because I have NEVER seen them sitting on the shelf of a gun store.   Ebay has 2 of them for $16.50 shipped. Less than $20 for something you might spend years searching for is pretty cheap.

  35. Ok guys, good news, bad news. Today I brought the pup back into work with the idea that we could go to the humane society during lunch. I put her outside in our closed lot this morning to do her business while I took care if some things and she bolted. Apparently our gate has just enough give that she was able to squeeze through. Not good. So I went off in search down the alley and sure as day come across her back in her real yard being pet by her owners looking happier than a pig in waste. They were scolding her when I came up, but she looked ok and want shying away at all from them. I yelled through the fence and asked if it was their dog which they confirmed, a very quick look around showed a huge gap in their fence which I pointed out to them and they thanked me for taking her in when I explained the situation. I was concerned about the gap because it was fairly large and clearly not a dug hole. A few hours later there was a young man outside doing what looked to be some manual labor around the area, hopefully fixing the hole. So there we are. Based in how quickly she adjusted from 'kicked dog' to total ham, her ability to walk well on a leash, and the fact that she was apparently house trained as she had no accidents here, plus seeing her with the owners makes me rethink a few things. She's young, outside on her own, and a large hairy man was trying to entice her inside with 1/2 a cheeseburger (what I had on hand, not my idea of "dog food") maybe she was just legitimately nervous. I don't know. One good thing, I know where she lives. Right behind and a few houses down from work. Doing a few welfare checks a week won't be hard. Under the right circumstances, I'm not above a dog napping, but for now I'm going to call this a hopefully happy ending. If and when there is a next time I see her on the street, there will be absolutely no hesitation, I'm grabbing her and taking her to the humane society. I am going back to the house tomorrow to suggest they chip their dog and get tags made. We'll see how that goes I guess. Thanks all for all the advice, I really appreciate you guys helping me out on this. Hopefully I can still feel good about the outcome as things move forward. As much as I'm nervous that this may not be the right call, she looked happy to see her people and they looked happy to see her. I'd feel like a real monkeydick if I deprived someone of their pet, regardless of whether or not I think she needs more baths. I'm crossing my fingers that this all works out ok for the pup, she deserves to be happy.

  41. If her owners actually gave a crap she would not be running free waiting to get hit and die a miserable death.   If you can't keep her then try to find her a loving home. Plenty of pitbull rescues around that would eb willing to help. Do not take her to any animal center because the vast majority do not try to adopt out pitbulls, even if they are perfect dogs, and often euthanize then as soon as possible.   You will be surprised at how loving and loyal these dogs are.

  42.   Well, to be fair, the guy was 30 feet away from him at one point. He could have drawn a taser. That being said, this department doesn't have dashcams, they may not even have tasers.   Also, I'm not saying the cop did anything wrong.
