Bill and Hillary are at a Yankees home game, sitting in the first row, with the Secret Service people directly behind them. One of the Secret Service guys leans forward and whispers something to Bill. At first, Clinton stares at the guy, looks at Hillary, looks back at the agent, and shakes his head "no". The agent then says, "Mr. President, it was a unanimous request of the entire team, from the owner of the team to the bat boy." Bill hesitates...but begins to change his mind when the agent tells him the fans would love it! Bill shrugs his shoulders and says, "Ho-Kay! If that is what the people want. C'mere Hilly baby..." With that, Bill gets up, grabs Hillary by her collar and the seat of her pants, lifts her up, and tosses her right over the wall onto the field. She gets up kicking, swearing, screaming, "Bill you"!$#@&!". The crowd goes absolutely wild. Fans are jumping up & down, cheering, hooting and hollering, and high-fiving. Bill is bowing, smiling and waving to the crowd. He leans over to the agent and says, "How about that; I would have never believed how much everyone would enjoy that!" Noticing the agent has gone totally pale, he asks what is wrong. The agent replies, "Sir, I said they want you to throw out the first "pitch."5 points

I remember back when I was testifying at the Senate Judiciary hearing on Employee Safe Commute Republican caused abortion in 2010, then Democrat Memphis Senator Ophillia Ford quipped, "I never leave my house without my gun." She actually voted with us on that one, as opposed to several Republicans...2 points

2015 is officially the year of the AK for me. This year alone I have purchased two Century (CAI) "Iraqi Contractor" Romanian WASR 10's, a 2013 production Century (CAI) Romanian WASR 10, Century (CAI) Romanian RPK AES10B, + a Yugoslavian N-PAP DF. I have another Century (CAI) "Iraqi Contractor" Romanian WASR10 + a Century (CAI) Romanian Draco AK pistol en route to my FFL as I write this. As you can see, I am a fan of the weapon system through + through. At the present moment, I am debating the purchase of a Arsenal SLR107FR but I am stuck on if I should pick the variant with plum furniture or all black. Decisions, decisions! Without further ado, I present to you my humble selection of AK's. Those of you whom are friends with me on Facebook already know but for the rest, On the first of May, I suffered a severe heart attack while working offshore in Brazil. This actually happened on my off time, as we work 12 hour shifts. I was getting in the shower and for the next 6 hours I was so bad off that I could not even use the phone in my cabin to call the medic. They gave me an EKG on board and confirmed that I should be dead right now. Shell Got me a medical chopper immediately. The next thing I knew I was being taken into the ER, I called my wife with my cell and just got that info out before they needed to operate, This scared the crap out of her and me because I am in a third world country, They put 2 stints on my right side and told me I needed another surgery for the left side. The translator app on my Galaxy phone has been pretty much the only way to communicate with them. The nurses do the same, my company paid for 6 nurses for me, they are lovely caring professionals. For the last 5 or 6 years, when I quit smoking oddly enough, I have had Hypertension after the first surgery my blood pressure was in the low medium range, I just got done with the second surgery, the doctors tell me that I have the heart of a baby now, besides the language barrier and the fact that I am here without my family this is by far the best medical care I have ever had in my life. I would greatly appreciate all of your prayers for my family during this, it has been hard on them I should get to come home in the next few days, and as crazy as this may sound I actually thank God for this as it almost certainly pro longed my life, I work for an awesome company and will be paid while I recooperate Any way thanks for listening!1 point

Used to be able to buy burl pipe blanks from ebay and some wood suppliers. I would take a look online to get an idea what the blanks look like and is be willing to bet you could about take it from there as far as the crafting goes. Getting the bowl cut proper looked trickier than it looked if that makes sense, but doable. I used to have a good book on pipes that went through construction and materials, I'll take a look for it but I dont remember seeing it for a few years.1 point

I agree. I think that would help a lot with the 16" barrel. I've never used electronic ears so I don't know how effective they are.1 point

I don't see how they can prohibit firearms at all in a park legally... 39-17-1359 does not apply, even if a business or other entity leases the park... because it's a park owned or operated by the City of Memphis, 39-17-1359 can not apply, period. and 39-17-1311 doesn't allow posting either, so seems like they're out of luck. I don't think you'd have to full on go to trial on this, seems like a simple injunction would work... the plain meaning of the law is clear, parks can't prohibit carry under any circumstances anymore... unless a school board is actively using it. And watch, if they lose they'll get the local school board to sponsor the event next year ;)1 point

Last time I was out I used just rubber plugs, gave all the muffs I had to the kids and the sound wasn't bad at all. We were at an outdoor range, indoors hasn't been tried with just plugs.1 point
-
It should help tremendously. Electronic muffs are awesome, but most don't really have the dB reduction "horsepower" for rifle shooting. Plugs + electronic ears give you the best of both worlds.1 point

I 2nd TrickyNicky's advice about the Kinetic-tec.1 point

I have all three of the linear comps below, all are designed to help redirect the muzzle blast forward and you can buy all 3 for less than the price of the Noveske flaming pig. None of them are the exact same thing, but I think for what you want they would be perfect options. All are good cheap choices you can try and they won't break the bank, but of my money the kinetic-tech are by far the best value. http://www.kineti-tech.com/muzzle-brakes-2/ This is my favorite out of the 3 for a few reasons. Primarily its ability to pull double duty as a comp and blast director. It's pretty light weight so throwing it on a rifle barrel won't be a big deal. The machining and finish are good quality and the price is pretty good for all that you get. I'll be buying a second one of these eventually. http://www.kakindustry.com/kak-industry-flash-can The KAK can is a good option for redirecting sound, but it has a big drawback as well in that it is heavy. I have mine on a 7.5" barrel and it handles great, but I wouldn't put it at the end of a carbine or rifle, too nose heavy. It is very robust however. They make a slimmer version now to cut back on weight, might be worth looking into. http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/barrel-parts/compensators/levang-linear-compensator-prod5594.aspx Last but surely not least is the humble Levang. I actually really like this little guy. Relatively light, streamline-ish design and super super simple. I have had best luck with this one throwing it on the end of a 20"rifle to just "smooth" up the shooting experience. It's a good product but the finish is lacking. Ipainted mine t match the barrel so no big deal for me but YMMV,1 point

try a flaming pig, I don't have one but the utube videos that I have seen shows that they seem to work well KAK makes one and from what I recall not very expensive and I think you can find them on ebay as well as amazon. Good luck!!1 point

A barrel nut. Try no muzzle brake at all. All the gasses will go forward and not be redirected.1 point

I'm not sure which one, but I know there are some. A more knowledgeable person than I will be along soon. However, I would like to <evil grin> with and for you! Hope in the meantime you get something to make it more enjoyable for her to keep shooting.1 point

Agreed. Great ideas are a dime a dozen. Executing on those ideas to make a sustainable business is really hard. As an old quote - often attributed to Thomas Edison says, "Opportunity is often missed because it's dressed in overalls and looks like work." Or, as Calvin Coolidge said, "Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent."1 point

What an Honor I have the distinguished honor of being on the Committee to raise $50,000,000 for a monument to Hillary R. Clinton. We originally wanted to put her on Mt. Rushmore until we discovered there was not enough room for two more faces. We then decided to erect a statue of Hillary in the Washington , D.C. Hall of Fame. We were in a quandary as to where the statue should be placed. It was not proper to place it beside the statue of George Washington, who never told a lie, or beside her husband William J. Clinton, who never told the truth, since Hillary could never tell the difference. We finally decided to place it beside Christopher Columbus, the greatest Democrat of them all. He left not knowing where he was going, and when he got there he did not know where he was. He returned not knowing where he had been and did it all on someone else's money. Thank you, Hillary R. Clinton Monument Committee P.S. The Committee has raised $2.16 so far. Out of date stamps are acceptable. Bus tokens are not. Food Stamps .....maybe. Mexican passports are valued at $.05.1 point

It's stories like this that make me realize how lucky I am to live in TN. Our gun laws are definitely not perfect, but they could clearly be worse. I hope this failed policy in MD was extremely costly for the state's taxpayers, because they elected the idiots that passed the law. Stupidity SHOULD be expensive.1 point
