In honor of this thread I will fly a CSA flag tomorrow and post a pic here. If people spent half as much time worrying about important shit the world would be a better place.9 points

They are going to keep the Jefferson Memorial and the name, they are just going to change the statue to a painting. They say it's all about moving on up. They will put a smaller painting of Weezy beside it.7 points

If you don't like the way it feels or fits, why not just buy a gun you DO like the fit and feel of? There are lots of choices. I don't understand all this melting/whittling/grinding/etc. crap. Just buy a gun that fits YOU, instead of bastardizing one. :screwy:3 points

Standing on the side of the road out of traffic, flying a flag that is disappearing from stores under pressure and being removed from availability on license plates and dropped from battlefields isn't acting an ass. Acting an ass was in Ferguson and Baltimore with smaller reenactments daily in most big cities. A week ago these flags were spotted here and there and nobody noticed them, but now it's being attacked as if it was one of the bullets in the church. Not only are people attacking it, govt and businesses are acting against it so fast it's head spinning. With the lack of confederate flags in Chicago and its peaceful utopia , it's obvious that hiding it and removing it will make the country better :down:3 points

Saw this posted on Facebook earlier this evening: Everything Weapons has entered into a deal to buy The Outpost Armory and merge retail operations. That's huge! Please join me in wishing them both the best of success. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Still a great piece of work. The "Ride" was totally great! Moving and thought provoking. I'd say you have a gift for video creativity.2 points

It would be much worse. Think of the casualties from a full scale conflict using muskets and cannon. Imagine that same amount of force going after each other with M1A1 Abrahams, Cobra and Apache Attack helicopters, belt fed medium and heavy weapons and M4's. A force on force battle between to similarly equipped military units would result in horrendous casualties in minutes. Sent from the backwoods2 points

I ordered one off Gun Broker and it should be be here by the end of the week. I will be out of town this week end, but I will be happy to give a report when I get back. I know most people are smith fans, but I am a big Redhawk, GP and most Ruger single actions fan. http://www.gunblast.com/Ruger-RH45ACP.htm2 points

The most interesting gun shop to "look around in" is Franklin Gun Shop. Amazing selection of almost everything to hold and sample. Now if you want to purchase something at a competitive price Franklin Gun Shop is not likely to be your place. On the south side of Nashville The Armory near 100 Oaks and Everything Weapons in Cool Springs/Franklin will have much better prices on common items. On the north side Guns and Leather. On the west side toward Bellevue Nashville Gun and Knife.2 points

There will always be racial tensions, and there will always be small and insignificant groups like the New Black Panthers running their mouths. But in the end it would be suicide based upon numbers alone. So, I don't foresee the highly anticipated race war that Obama has never mentioned, but whites are always talking about. Some people must go to bed disappointed every night.2 points

The gun industry attracts conspiracy theorists. Every industry has their kooks, or their "ultra left wing" "ultra right wing" type people the majority wishes would shut up i would wager. The Alex jones types seem to be ours. Edit: Oh, and the fanatical open carry crowd.2 points

Since you will be staying in Brentwood, it might be worth a drive to a new shop that just opened out in Bellevue called Regal Range. It used to be a movie theather until the flood of 2010. Not many folks know about it yet. They are still working on the ranges but the shop is fully stocked. Quite the selection IMO. The range will be 60 yards indoors when finished and at least some sections will be rated up to 50 cal, or so I'm told, if you need to do some test firing. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk1 point

Your best bet between inbetween Lipscomb University (from which I am an alum) and Brentwood is the Nashville Armory at Harding & I-65. Otherwise the others are a little bit south of Brentwood as mentioned below. Everything Weapons and Franklin Gun Shop. Guns & Leather would be very much out of your way (north of Nashville) but a good gun shop none the less.1 point

If you route up i24, you must stop at outpost armory. If staying in Brentwood, Franklin gun shop will kill some time. Very few deals will be found there but these two stops will equal a free gun show. Lots of other good small shops around to buy from, but those are worth wondering through for entertainment.1 point

First Amendment. Flying the Confederate Battle Flag might be considered insensitive, but it isn't against the law. Not much chance of it ever being against the law. I'd like one or two of the Confederate Historians to research the Civil War Paroles and Amnesties. I bet it's not against the law to fly the Confederate Battle Flag, and everyone was amnestied out a long time ago. There were more than 1.5 Million casualties the last time the Confederate Battle Flag was fought over, and I don't think we want to try that over again.1 point

If you do a search, even here on TGO, I believe you will find that the signs are not required to come down and that there removal was not part of the bill and helped the bills passage I believe in the finance part of the review. They still apply to everyone without an HCP. I could be wrong and I have read that they are being removed in some locations, but I believe that they don't have to be removed.1 point

Okay why is it that the left liberals want everyone to be tolerant of each others feelings and such, I guess folks who happen to like a Confederate flag, or a monument with Nathan Bedford Forrest are non people and they should just be treated like dirt. How about treating us as good as the effin illegals coming into the country. Only in Amerika can a kid get sent home for wearing an American flag a Confederate flag, but be celebrated for wearing a Mexican flag?? I don't currently own a Confederate flag, but I will be buying and flying one along with the Gadsden flag "DON'T TREAD ON ME" just leave me alone please.1 point

There is plenty of advice online on how to do a grip reduction. If you don't have a vice and a dremel or a good bench grinder with a 3/8 or 1/2 wide wheel it can be a bit more tricky I suppose. A wood burning pen to stipple is pretty cheap. I used modeling clay to plug the grip channel where I didn't want filler and then poured black tinted Brownell's acraglas into the void. On my first prototype I ground too much off the back to my liking but simply used black industrial Devcon 290 to build the grip back up to where it fit me perfectly. It doesn't look as nice as the 15 or 20 grip reductions I did subsequent to that one but it is the one of the last two Glocks I have and it shoots great for me. Bore axis is almost as low as a HK P7, and points like a finger to the target. I never found a stock pistol that fit me as well as this G19 and I had a pile. It got worse finding the perfect pistol after the hand surgery. I'm all for making the tool fit the person rather than hoping that someone makes a tool that might fit. After a dozen Sigs, HKs, too many 1911s to count, and dozens of poly framed guns I still have two grip reduced Glocks as my primary large capacity handguns. All the others are gone and I have no intention of getting any others.1 point

Smart move by Barrett. The gun store was really just a notion at first, taking space in a convenience store they owned, and repurposing it for gun sales. At first they still had both operations running plus the restaurant! It grew quickly and they ditched the gas and c-store and restaurant quickly to create more room the gun shop. It was a brilliant example of the power of capitalism - taking an asset and raising it to a higher value. Now they recognize that it can be more but is taking their time away from their core business, so its sold - and both parties will benefit And no one from the government was needed to create this wealth God Bless America1 point

Yes, it is and if they continue to stay in business and honor the warranties the company will reap dividends in customer loyalties and support. Reminds me of HiPoint Arms and how they jump started an initial rocky entry into the gun market.1 point

Ok, we could compare it to backstrap checkering, ejection port lowering, or grip modification if that works better......... Sometimes, someone finds a platform that works for them, but it needs few modifications to be perfect. Why should we care so much about that choice to comment about it is such a dramatic way?1 point

Saw them here near Franklin several years ago. Looked like a purple cloud. Pulled over on I-840 near I-65 to look and figure out what I was seeing. Not the curtain look we see on tv, just a blotchy cloud of purple but it was visible while driving. Very early in the morning, was headed out to deer hunt. But, it's possible to see em here. Keep watching. While we're on the subject, pretty neat alignment of Venus and Jupiter after sunset right now. Worth a look.1 point

it's an issue because the professionals always seem to need to blame some thing and not some one.1 point

Glad they worked out for you. I live in Athens and saw that same deal, but had just bought something else and couldn't swing it right now. I wasn't familiar with their warranty, but it's pretty amazing. Not only is it a lifetime repair warranty, but also if the gun is lost or stolen, they'll replace it. Now THAT'S some kind of warranty...1 point

Yes. Get it. Now. But seriously, real 10mm ammo from Buffalo Bore, Doubletap, Underwood, and a couple others is no joke. Great hiking gun and great capacity vs revolvers. Don't misunderstand me, I love revolvers too and have a Smith 357, 44, 38, etc. However, those are range toys for me now and too heavy for the amount of firepower they carry vs something like a G29. I'm no Glock fan either, but they really are the only company making a solid, compact(ish) 10MM with real capacity. I personally have a full size EAA Witness Elite Match 10MM and love it. However, thei smaller framed 10MM designs are known to have durability concerns. For that reason I wouldn't be against the Glock. At the price and condition, you can't go wrong. If you don't like it you won't lose money, for sure.1 point

If the state really wanted to make some money, they'd institute a "lifetime TICS fee". They'd make money and some of y'all would be in the black in a couple of weeks.1 point
