  3. Just wanted to give a shout out {If it's allowed} For a small local gun store. Cheapest transfer fees I've found anywhere, and great people to deal with. It's The Old Fort Armory in Etowah Tn. Owner said he was a member, but I don't know his moniker on here.

  6. So I had some friends visit last week as I posted above. On the way they stopped at Woodford Reserve and took a tour, and brought me a gift. This is only sold at the distillery. It's smooth and sweet on the front with that traditional Woodford oak and spice in the aftertaste. Very good on my opinion.

  8. So, scenario: You find someone in your garage or carport, a place where you have a right to be and an intruder is present.  What, you think he will just kindly leave the premises when you confront him?  You think that a wiry skinny perp can't do great bodily harm on his way off your premises?  Anytime I confront someone, I am of the mindset that they can and will cause great bodily harm to me or mine.  The TCA does not say you have to allow great bodily harm to come to you before you try and defend yourself.  Sure, you don't shoot him in the back as he is trying to run away or pop him while he is tugging on your stereo but at the same time I am not going to get into physical altercation with an intruder; and I am sure not just going to run away and let him proceed to rob me blind.  So, you confront him, threaten him with force (how I will leave that to your imagination) perp now has a choice to make, laydown and let the law come for him, let the irate homeowner beat the crap out of him, run away, or attack said homeowner because he had the audacity to stop him from making a living...how do you think this scenario will play out?    When you go check to see what all the barking is about, or go check where the noise outside came from do you go armed?  While armed are you going to resort to wrestling an intruder?  The law does make some fine points about what you are allowed and not allowed to do, but the incident will dictate when it comes to either protecting your property or your life, and in most cases both are one in the same when you confront someone that does not want to be confronted.

  9.   The thing that's pretty much universally true is simply that trucking companies do not allow their drivers to carry by policy, which includes owner operators leased to them. So for that part, it's simple -- don't tell and hide well.   - OS

  21. I came out to Nashville Armory a couple weeks a go with a friend to watch a match. In the time since, I've got all the necessary equipment (i think) and would like to participate. Where/How can I signup, and is there any additional steps that I need to take to get started?

  22. I'm really surprised the EPA hasn't gotten hold of this. Imagine what it could be leaking. I guess this isn't political enough for them to care. I think someone should raise the Jolly Roger and claim it as theirs. That's pretty ridiculous.

  23. There's a couple different ways to look at the cost of the VSR 30 cal above. 1. The cost was spread out over multiple purchases. $200 stamp, $150 VSR's, $300 solvent trap. Never had to lay down a large chunk, kinda like building AR's. 2. I don't have any stocking class 3 dealers near me and they have taxes and transfer fees for those that are class 3. 3. The pride of self accomplishment. 4. The least expensive all Ti cans run in the low $700 range before stamp 5. Weighs 18oz, petty light considering size I have shot it next to other people's commercial cans, it is on par with those, none were newest hottest models out though. If a commercial can was easier for me to get, I'd most likely gone that route. For baffles I'll make, I'll only follow in footsteps previously laid out in the commercial market, the skirted and clipped 60degree conical baffle is well proven, my machine skills to date are not :) I've got a few projects that will make a form 1 a necessity, a titanium 50 Beowulf can and a integral Mauser in 45auto. Both have commercial samples, neither is cheap.

  24.       What leads you to that?  I can't see the door where the ecoboost badge would be so I can't tell if that is there.  The only other surefire way I know to tell is if the front plate bracket is in the middle or offset.  Its in the middle on 5.0 trucks and offset on the ecoboost trucks to allow better air flow to the intercooler.

  29. The parts above, another solvent trap, made from Grade 5 Ti, about $230. It is a .357 cal can made mostly for 5.5" 9 AR SBR and .357 Max Handi rifle. Works on Griffin Armament rifle taper mounts, bored out .413. I just bought a lathe, it'll get filled with clipped 60degree cones. Waiting on 6more form 1 supressor stamps and 2 more SBR's.

  30. I have another, it was really easy to build from repurposed stuff. Ran $450+stamp. Titanium solvent trap and titanium VSR's. 8.5"x 1.625"OD, 30cal, shown on 10.5" 300blk SBR Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  34. Don't worry everyone, soon paper currency will be a thing of the past. Electronic currency will be the way of the future, makes it easier to track and that way you'll be able to only use your allotment. Easier for them to get ahold of it to. Heck, look at Japan and some countries in Europe, already setting limits on withdrawals. Mr. DJT has even suggest scalping a percentage of everyone's accounts to help with the country's debt. No sir, I don't like it. Reminds of the old saying, going to something or other in a hand basket..... And yes, Lincoln was a Republican, the first one in fact.

  41. Omega,   You are describing how most of us on this forum would like it to be.   The reality is this.  There are five conditions that have to be met to claim self defense.  The chances of going to jail increase as any of these aren't met.  If you are determined to be the aggressor, then you are in a world of hurt.  The fact that someone is stealing from your garage does not in any way prevent you from being the aggressor.   Hearing the dog bark, going out to see what it is, and having that escalate into the perp being shot is a scenario where I don't want the DA deciding whether to prosecute on me.  The truth and what the prosecutor says in court may be two very different things.   The law that you quoted above is not how it is practiced in TN.   Imagine an ego contest that turns into a road rage incident where the two cars pull over on the side of the road.  Someone winds up being shot.  Regardless of what happened, the person doing the shooting likely will not be able to claim self defense.    I went to a class taught by the top firearms self defense attorney in the country.  One of the big take aways was that you want to have all five requirements for self defense so strong that the DA moves on to something else.  If they pursue it, the best case scenario is that you will go bankrupt paying for a defense.

  42. You can't shoot someone for property theft.  The appropriate word for that action is murder.   Pulling a weapon if you don't feel that your life is in danger is a bad, bad idea.
