  1. For most of us, it's been: Work Rain Mow Rain Repeat I know I haven't been fishing in a while. I'd love to.

  3. Twitter has user agreements and terms of service. It's up to them who they ban, private service and all. If you don't like Twitter, it's probably because you've never tried to tailor it for your own purposes. I have a follow list that keeps me up to date on news (standard, left, and right leaning), interest items, sports, naked women, and safety warnings. It makes for an easy way to get information in a condensed format, allowing me to pick what I want to dive into.

  4. Sure. I don't even open carry, I just get tired of the moaning and gnashing of teeth over someone open carrying a firearm as if it automatically marks them for death.

  5. I used to be a bit hyper on the 223/556. Always wondering which to use or buy. Finally realized that my ARs are marked "multi" and quite worrying about it.

  6. If you haven't heard of the Grand it means you probably haven't shot a lot of trap. The Grand American is held from August 3-13, 2016. The AIM is held the week before and it lasts from July 28- August 2. I'll be up there for the whole Grand. On the off chance anyone from TGO is gonna be up there PM me and we'll get together. If not I'll be posting some pictures and videos of my adventures. Oh and I'll be doing a little shooting up there. That's 4750 shells if you're wondering.

  8. Like I said, I'm not against open carrying, I just choose not to. To me, the benefits and ease of concealing outweigh the potential issues with open carrying. I would say that you are probably right; Many criminals do seek out soft targets. That being said, hard criminals do not care. For examples of this take a look at the recent "assassinations" of officers. I know I want the upper hand if an active shooter or hardened criminal decides to start shooting. For me, that upper hand is the element of surprise. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. Yet we tend to only focus on the other outcomes that can be counted because they represent actual events. I think the percentage of robberies canceled as opposed to attempted in the event of seeing someone OC'ing would be higher that we might believe, if for no other reasons than criminals tend to want soft targets and pass up once that might have a problem.

  12. I think it's valid to wonder if a criminal sees someone OC'ing (good OC, not this idiot) would they pass up the planned robbery and/or move on to another one to avoid a scene.

  13. Glad I got my order in when I did. This is the same kit I built the last time and am really satisfied with it. To keep in the spirit of the thread, I also ordered extra springs and pins

  15. It's an opinion for sure (point the guy was trying to make). My Opinion is it's a DANG GOOD OPINION that you gonna be the first one an armed criminal in a criminal act will shoot if he sees you with a gun available to you. Couple other opinions: Most carriers (concealed or open) do not have the training to react to MOST situation and likely get killed or cause others to get killed. . Most open carry folks are thinking - I'm a big deal with a gun. :-( Those are all OPINIONS. :-)

  16. That's why I just bought my own phone (Nexus 5) and brought it to AT&T for a postpaid account. Let me do whatever I wanted to the phone. All I need AT&T for is access to a cell network, and I get away from all their BS contracts, upgrades, ect...with a reasonable bill as a bonus. $300 for an unlocked 16GB Nexus 5x or $350 for the 32GB model from BestBuy...not a bad deal at all. A phone just as good (better in *my* opinion that Samsung), and very easy to load CM13. Just something to think about. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-google-nexus-5x-4g-with-16gb-memory-cell-phone-unlocked-carbon/4735900.p?id=1219810399791&skuId=4735900&ref=212&loc=1&ksid=15eff79e-2b37-4f7f-8ab0-41c4c7e4d084&ksprof_id=10&ksaffcode=pg107921&ksdevice=c

  19. He will be the first one shot if an armed robbery takes place where he is shopping at. I have no clue why people want to become target # 1 in the event of a armed robbery? I carry every time I walk out my door but I am the only one that will know it if something happens and I need to use my weapon for defense purposes..........jmho

  20. According to the weather service we are suppose to have some cooler weather this week so son in law is bringing the Skeeter to me to use this week. I'm going to try and fish some on Old Hickory and Percy Priest lakes and see if I can still remember how to fish and drive a bass boat...............

  21. That's a good assessment and in line with the "wearing a gun at people" line of reasoning. Though most who do so claim its in order to assert their 2d Amendment Rights its really rubbing things in other peoples faces. In reality it comes down to being an attention whore for the majority of the folks who do this stuff.

  23. Unfortunately I find this type of thing not good for our cause. Many people especially those that don't believe in the Second Amendment rights can find this visually offending and intimidating. I carry every day of my life but I do believe in what they call "carrying concealed". I wonder what he carries in the winter ? LOL!!!!!

  25. Hmm? Guns to small to be wearing it at folks enough so throw on a 30 round mag for extra bling? Or someone hasn't spent enough time shooting tactical Tupperware pistols with extended mags like that to find out there's a difference between range shooting and real world carry.

  28. Save your money up. I doubt that there is anything that is going to pay out more than you pay in. I’m in the same boat you are; we are too old to be shopping for insurance. That boat sailed a long time ago. I have an estate that is worth some money. It won’t be a burden on whoever gets it; so they can bury me.

  30. Go buy some known quality US made ammunition and try again. Steel cases ammunition is bottom of the barrel as far as quality goes. Something else you may not realize is the bullets are actually made of steel and then copper washed. Steel bullets DO cause premature wear and if you shoot a lot it will eventually damage your barrel. How fast the damage occurs depends on how much you shoot as well as the quality of the firearm. I only shoot steel cased in guns designed to shoot steel case, like AKs, or guns with easily replaced barrels like ARs.

  32. For years Glock fought the “Don’t dry fire” mindset. It was for marketing reasons. They knew Tactical Tommy wanted to dry fire his handgun for hours on end at the TV set; so they said it was okay. I talked with a factory gunsmith for another manufacturer about the issue. He said they were following suit and saying you could dry fire, and if you broke your gun they would fix it. That’s how marketing works. I notice that Glock has now added the following statement to their FAQ’s. Those of us that are familiar with machining and metallurgy have known this for decades. And we have been okay with it. It seems some of the younger generation wants what they want and as long as they can find some one that will tell them it okay; they are good to go. Maybe with this problem they will come up with a handgun that is actually designed around dry firing. For Glock to change their policy and put that on their website should tell those of you that like to dry fire something. Or not...... continue on.

  38. I'll just right ahead and say look at the Ruger AR556 and Smith & Wesson M&P Sport II. Both are excellent choices in the $650 price range (more or less, ideally less). Don't get all wound up on the absurd amount of options and variations. Start simple.

  43. You know, that's clearly her gun and she's using a holster. I don't get it. Why some of us have to find something to "help" any woman with a weapon with is probably the reason we don't have more women on the board. Looking at her Instagram page, it appears she spends a lot more time in the field and a lot more time shooting than most of us.

  46. Member Chris has. He is also on the board of the Nashville chapter of SCI. If you are interested in hunting Africa you should join our chapter. There is a wealth of information there. Chris just got back from a month hunting trip in Africa. He gave a great presentation at our last chapter meeting.
