  1. Gunsmithing Services View Advert Hey guys, many of you know me here but I've had a lot of folks inquire about services or see something and not know that I offered that. My biz name is a little misleading I apologize for that. I'm a full service gunsmithing shop that does 99% labor type work. I moved my shop to Oliver Springs a little over a year ago. Things are running great so I wanted to throw this out there in case you need anything I can provide. First and foremost I will work on almost anything. I have been working on guns for 35 years now. Started off at my grandfather's pawn shop back in the early 80s. I moved to Oak Ridge in 2008 and opened Law Enforcement Sales early 2010 and have been steady smithing since. Since inception I have had a 07/02 manufacturing license for both title 1 and title 2 firearms. Began heavily on the LE side but my customer base has grown more than I could have ever imagined and I now do way more work for the general public. Little about me, I have been a commissioned law enforcement officer since 2001, worked 7 years as a SC State Constable working all over the state. I am currently serving as a Sergeant with the Anderson County Sheriff's Department which I joined in 2008 and have been an active Reserve Deputy with them since. I am also a VP at Wells Fargo bank working in their securities/loss area as a Software Engineer. I've compile a list of things I usually work on but again, the sky is the limit. I will 100% be upfront if there is a job I am not comfortable with. I have not done everything but I have found I tend to get the more difficult jobs around the area none of the other smiths want to deal with. I feel my prices are very competitive and I always charge what a job is worth not what my time invested is. Services Sales Affiliated with most the industries distributors. I don't do much retail because of TN's sales tax it's currently impossible to compete with the internet. I want you guys to get the best price you can but I do have those customers who want to buy from me and I don't mind helping search something down and getting it. I am a East TN SilencerCo SPEQ dealer. They offer great prices to LE, Military, First Responders (EMS, etc.). Call for special pricing. They offer a couple times per year this discount to Veterans too. Transfers Title 1 transfers - $20 INCLUDEDs TBI background. I WILL accept transfer in from private parties and it doesn't matter if I can get the item or even have the item in stock - no games! Title 2/NFA transfers - $35 - I'll happily help/review your paperwork. Been in NFA for 30 years. Barrel Work Shortening Threading - most done on CNC Lathe Crowning Pinning (compensators) - installing and removing Contouring Head spacing Install AR Extensions / replace broken alignment pins, etc. I do some chambering.. full barrel blanks (7.62/308/9mm/7.62x39,22, etc.) .. and existing re-chambering ...40 to 10mm, etc - will be offering additional calibers as they come. Receiver/Bolt Work Engraving - NFA, Images, etc. Extractor installs / Sako M16 extractors, etc. Bolt knob threading/installs - Badger, etc. Changing bolt face calibers (where feasible) Receiver / Bolt face truing Various repairs Parts Kit Builds/Repair HK Style - Can roll/weld flats, demil parts kits, build 922 compliant semi autos. AK Style - Can roll flats, weld rails, Rivet trunnions, trigger guards, stock trunnions, etc. (NoDak is so cheap it's probably moot now but can do it either way) RPDs PKMs - Designed a new semi trigger pack that utilizes 99% AR internals. Custom machine a new hammer and recoil assembly. My conversions do not use that ugly recoil rod that most do that has to protrude through the middle of the rear stock. Everything is internal. MACs UZIs VK59s List could go on and on .... ALL of the above can also be machined to post sample select fire status for LE agencies Refinishing Parkerizing Cerakote Duracoat At the moment I do not do cammo patterns. Sorry I have a couple of master refinishers I can refer you to for those services. Handguns RMR/Reddot milling -not just flat, proper radiused front WITH all 4 indexing posts (RMR) Slide serrations, windows, etc. Sight removal/install Dovetail milling Recoil/Hammer Stud replacement (revolvers) Cylinder Reaming/Honing Picatinny/Weaver rail drill/tapping, etc. General repair / parts replacement If I can't find a replacement part I can often machine something. I do a lot of fixing stuff.. machine guns, rifles, heir looms, etc... Custom Machining Above is just a sample of services I can do. I have 2 production class HAAS CNC machines, both a Lathe and a 4th Axis VMC. I also have a 54" Monarch lathe that I haven't ran out of room with and an old Bridgeport milling machine. Old 1940s vintage good stuff! I do odd work on non guns stuff too - Motorcycle parts, RV car parts, you name it. I co host a 3-4 machinegun shoots across the states and neighboring areas per year. If you'll follow my facebook page https://www.facebook.com/LawEnforcementSalesTN/ or our hosting page https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=beltfed brothers we'll post our event information. It's a nice opportunity to get some real seat time behind a lot of the equipment we don't normally get to shoot. We have a M134 Minigun (4K rd/min), Several M60s, M240, couple of M249s, M16s, Mp5s, slew of other fun stuff. Don't be Knob Creek and watch come shoot for yourself!! I also post smithing jobs I'm working on as time permits. Feel free to IM or email me for any service questions. Thank you ALL for your continued support! Stay Safe! 2. And just to make sure CTD knew how I felt, before the stripper left, I'd write on her the longest complaint letter they ever got!

  3. I'm with Nightrunner. CTD could have this delivered for free by a stripper that smells like Hoppes no 9 and breasts filled with bourbon and I still wouldn't buy it. Haven't bought a single thing from them since their gougefest.

  4. Careful, Zaya just changed the blend in this neo classic last fall. The label and the age statement both changed luckily making it easy to spot the new bottles. Gone is the "12 year old rum" changed to "a blend of 12 aged rums". New- VS Old- I'm currently stuck on Zacapa 23yr Solera. It's good for the price(around $50) and great straight or mixed. For slightly more affordable standouts, I prefer Plantation Barbados 5 yr, Pampero Aniversario Reserva Exclusiva in the $30ish range.

  5. My memory is good. I remember what CTD has done before. This doesn't make up for it.

  6. I'm also a UPS MyChoice member. It's free. Any UPS package that goes to my address, I get a notice. I have the same with FedEx. It makes it hard for Mrs. 'Lizard to sneak anything in the door.

  11. I just like to reduce the risk of things blowing up on me when I shoot. I *might* always intend to shoot subs - but then a supersonic round sneaks in there - or there's a mixup in a range bag - or whatever. As a rule, if I can remove the chances of operator error from having disastrous consequences - in any system in my life, I will. I'm sure there are overbuilt cans that are over-bored and rated for anything you can fit through it. Like you said, a suppressor rated for 300 win mag is going to be awfully heavy hanging off the end of a pistol. It's also not going to be as quiet when it's bored for a 9mm round and you're running a smaller diameter .30 cal bullet through it. YMMV.

  13. Taurus made 2" and 3" M327 [605 frame] SS, blued, two-tone, even a ported 3" Charter Arms made a SS 3" (?) and still makes a 2"(?) in 32 H&Rmagnum S&W made three M632's, 3" SS and 3" Armornite (black) Magna-Ported, and a 2" SS fluted barrel hammerless Ruger made/makes several configurations , especially the SP101 3.14"bbl, but only has a snub now in the 1.87"bbl LCR hammerless [still have the SP101 4.1"bbl, 4.5"-5.5"-7.5" Single-Sevens Henry Rifles is releasing a Big Boy lever in .327fed in April.....two different barrel lengths

  14. I'd be wary of this. This may hold true in some cases - but accidentally run a super through it and you'll blow it up.

  15. Well there weren't that many made to start with. 2-3 inch barrel in a revolver period, regardless of caliber, would seriously restrict your options. The classic S&W J frame has a 1.875" or 1 7/8" barrel. Is 1/8" or .125" that much of a difference? 3" revolvers have always been somewhat rare and highly coveted, mostly due to balance and the shortest barrel length with a full length ejector rod and stroke for positive ejection. 4" is the standard service sized barrel length. What your looking for will be a rare bird indeed.

  16. Zaya Gran Reserva. It's a medium-to-dark bodied rum but still very good, and I trend towards darker rums myself. https://www.rumratings.com/brands/1030-zaya-gran-reserva

  17. Irish Viagra . . . . . An Irish woman of advanced age visited her physician to ask his advice on reviving her husband's libido . . . . "What about trying Viagra?" asked the doctor. "Not a chance" she replied. "He won't even take an aspirin". "Not a problem," said the doctor. "Give him an Irish Viagra.” "What on Earth is Irish Viagra?" she asked. "It's Viagra dissolved in his morning cup of coffee. He won't even taste it. Let me know how it goes," he said. She called the doctor the very next afternoon. "How did it go?" he asked. "Oh faith, bejaysus and begorrah, doctor, it was terrible. Just horrid, I tell ya! I'm beside meself!" "Oh, no! What in the world happened?" "Well, I did the deed, Doctor, just as you advised. I put the Viagra in his morning coffee, and he drank it. Well, you know, it took effect almost immediately . . . . . he jumped straight up out of his chair with a smile on his face, a twinkle in his eye, and his pants a-bulging. Then, with one fierce swoop of his arm, he sent the cups saucers, and everything else that was on the table flying across the room, ripped me clothes to tatters and passionately took me then and there, right on top of the table. T’was a nightmare, I tell ya, an absolute nightmare!" “Why so terrible?" asked the doctor. "Wasn't the sex good?" "Freakin' jaysus, it was the best sex I've had in me last 25 years, but sure as I'm sittin here, doctor, I'll never be able to show me face in Starbucks again!"

  21. My first one was a like new Inland. It started to jam after a few hundred rounds so my first venture into cleaning one. Found out is was dirty with carbon and dry. After shooting them often I found out, clean them every 700-800 rounds or every time you use Augila Ammo sold buy CMP ,it is dirty crap. Do not use grease anywhere unless you going to war,mud &firing hundred of rounds a minute. Grease will attract dirt and burnt powder. Wipe off all extra oil after cleaning. Removing and assembling bolt and slide can be tricky, watch a Utube Vid on this. Complete strip and clean is only needed first time and then about every two years. Hoppes, bronze brush& and oil are all that is needed in between full cleaning

  22. The options on that ARX 100 shows what a company can do when they really try to give their customers what they want. Barrel swaps with no tools, charging handle flips to either side, ejects either side, 3 mag release points, folding stock that fires while folded, spring loaded snap down sights, 4 picatinny rails, multiple sling attachment points, uses AR mags, minimal lube points and breaks down fast. I haven’t seen one, but the video makes it look very impressive. Kudos to the Engineering department.

  27. For my personal daily carry I use a Keltec P32, 6.6oz and flatter than a pack of cigarettes. I can hit a 3" dinger at 25 yrds one handed weak hand easy enough. I have also owned a couple of Taurus 22PLYs. Thicker than a Keltec 32 but easy to shoot and with 60grain Aguilla SSS make a whumph sort of feel, very satisfying. I would never ever buy the Taurus all metal tip up barrel version/copy of the Beretta Bobcat - had one of those where the frame just split down the middle. But those poly framed versions Taurus makes are robust. I was on a mission for some time trying to find the most practical smallest carry pistol and tried to find something that beat the Keltec 32, never did find anything smaller, easy to shoot, or more reliable. I never found the Beretta Minx, Bobcat or Tomcat to have the reliability of the little Keltecs. Next best besides the KT 32 would be the Keltec P3AT at 8.8oz, but after shooting many many .380 bullets into wet newspapers and comparing to .32 ACP I figure .32acp is good enough. I thought the OP wanted a .22lr.

  28. S&W M63 or S&W 317 Kit Gun both have 3" barrels, the 63 weighs 24 oz and the 317 about 12oz get ready for well over $600.00 then tax and background. Then there is the hammerless 43C which will be at 600.00 after fees. I'm a big Ruger fan but not a fan of the .22LR LCR or SP101. I am not a fan of Charter either. Switch to .22LR semi auto pistols and there are a whole bunch of them that run pretty darn good at prices much easier on the wallet. I second Nightrunner's recommendation of the Ruger MK and Browning Buckmark. Hard to beat those at the price. I had a lot of fun with the Phoenix HP22, tinkered with it a bit and it shot so well someone else had to have it worse then me.

  33. If you haven't already, I'd call Dillon and discuss it with them. It is my understanding that their customer support is outstanding. For what it's worth, I've had my 550B for about a year, and never experienced what you are describing. In fact it has worked flawlessly since I first set it up. OK....I just went and looked at mine, and the only way I can see the primers coming out is if the Primer Feed Stop Pin, (part #14051 on the drawing), is missing or stuck back. That's on page five of my instruction book.

  35. This has nothing to do with a local DA, only the DOS/ HCP division at the state. My review of 1317 makes reference to 922 (g) specifically. In turn (g) seems to specify only FFLs not private individuals. Furthermore 922 as a whole mentions minors (<18) and seems to avoid specificity of 18-20. I do have a letter that I will share with anyone in person, but not on a forum.

  36. Homeowners carrier will NOT hire a lawyer for anything except to defend a civil suit against you that seeks damages from you arising out of "bodily injury", "property damage", or "personal and advertising injury". Got thrown in the pokey on a BS "reckless conduct with a firearm" charge ? Jailed arising out of what looked to you like a good shoot of a burglar, but the local Barney Fife disagrees ? UR on your own, bubba..............

  37. I can honestly say after the range, .454 and wood grips do NOT go together! I had gel pad gloves on, and that was still brutal. I did carry it crossdraw all day while hiking in the GSMNP. It was actually really comfortable. I almost forgot it was there.
