  1. Finally got my 640 in. Went ahead and put Pachmayrs on both the 640 and the 686PC. Now I just need to make a good holster for the 640 and go shoot. Somehow I feel a little more gooder now.

  2. Yes he does. If he was normal, he would have left there with a bipod and the rifle.

  3. The committee, 7 members if I recall, killed multiple pro gun bills that would have passed had they made it to the floor for debate and vote. We should ALL be emailing, calling, writing etc. to voice our displeasure and asking for them to recall the bills. For those that live in districts where the committee members are up for reelection, speak at the ballot. It's a shame these bills couldn't even get a vote. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  4. Well, I'v been wanting one of these for a few years and finaly did it on Gun Broker. Oddly, I was the only bidder on the $300 auction with $15 to ship and my dealer here gets $25 to make it happen so it comes to $340 OTD so to speak on this Stoeger import. Any one know when Stoeger dropped the Uberti Stallion line? The gun was advertised as new old stock but it did look like it had a cylinder or so fired threw it. The colors are really nice on this particular gun along with the over all fit & finish. I do need to do a little work on the trigger since its a tad creepy and its only 1.5 lbs away from a Bang! This is the first 30 rounds fired at 40 feet off a rest. If not for the one flyer (me), its holding 1.5". I'll tune the sights in better but now I'm after a Mag cylinder and then I'll decide on any sight mods. The second pic puts the Stallion along my JP Sauer 44mag. Great guns with about as close to Colt fit & finish as your going to get without Colt stamped on the barrel.

  6. After a final session sighting it in (@25 yards) I'm now ready to learn how to shoot it properly. I got it as a sporterized NPM with a 3/44 Underwood barrel. The ordnance stamp on the barrel and stock show a trip to the armory, at least once. I'm curious why it has a Type 1 barrel band. With that late a barrel I would assume a bayonet lug. The original hanguard, though varnished, is stamped RMC, so I have a small piece of Rockola. With now over 300 successful round fired on the rebuild (and about the same before ironing out all the kinks) I'm pretty confident with it mechanically. I rebuilt the bolt, replaced the piston as well as the recoil and hammer springs. Left the trigger group alone. I may upgrade to a M2 mag catch Found parts and compared prices starting with Fulton Armory and Numrich. The big reveal is what did it cost? A few dollars here and there, I never really kept up... Gun $400 (actually less, it was a bundle deal) Modified-by-me-with-hacksaw optic mount $15 Burris FF 3 free (gift) Choate folding stock $100 Beautifully made aluminum front railed handguard, $130. Not displayed, but for display purposes only. It gets ridiculously hot after 50 rounds fired. Vented sheet metal front handguard $15 Mags and pouch $90 Bolt tool and piston wrench $50 Spare bolt parts and springs $30 1 / 2 point sling $30 Covert carry, Prince tennis racket case $40 I just did the math too. Love hours spent, priceless

  7. Gallatin Gun IDPA will start hosting indoor IDPA matches at Sumner Gun & Supply April 12. We will hold the indoor matches the 2nd and 4th Wednesday nights. Set up starts a 5:00PM with first shots at 6:00PM. We should finish around 9:00PM. I will host these matches until Gallatin Gun Club has a new range built. In the mean time I will train SO's and anybody that wants to part of the Sumner Gun IDPA group to run it's own matches after I resume duties at the new outdoor range. This may take a while, so in the present we will have indoor matches. The first match will have 4 stages, around 70 rounds. Their is a learning curve here as I learn what I can do within the confines of an indoor range. I have limited the first match to 24 guns. I may allow more as we progress. I have opened a entry form on Practiscore; https://practiscore.com/gallatin-gun-idpa-indoor-match/register Match fee is $20. Discount is available to members of the Sumner Gun Range. Payment is to be may at the sales counter of the Gun Store. I have also bought tablets for scoring that will be posted onto Practiscore. Their is a learning cure here also. Robert

  8. Here is a copy of the letter sent to my rep today with copies to a few others on the Civil Justice Subcommittee. I don't know a whole lot about the TN Firearms Association but they seem to be trying to improve the bias in this supposedly gun friendly state...the bias that exercising your 2nd amendment right is a "privileged exception" to a crime, rather than one of the enumerated rights in the Bill of Rights. The info in italics is from an email blast from the TFA. I don't know the predominant feelings on this forum about the TFA good or bad, but as far as I can tell they are trying to do more to improve gun rights in TN than the NRA or anyone else. Unfortunately all the supposed pro 2nd amendment Republicans we think are going to improve things....never produce. Honestly my hot button topic remains removing the potentially onerous criminal penalties for carrying past a sign ( yes I know the issues below are of potentially greater import), but these guys in the legislature have no intent on improving anything, even though our supposedly pro 2A politicians have both the legislative and executive branches finally under the same party. Its time to call these guys out. "Representatives Sargent See the information below in italics from the Tennessee Firearms Association. Republican legislators continue to fail to support 2nd Amendment rights in TN when they are actually in session at the legislature. All lip service during campaigns, but no real reasoned examination of improving the underlying bias in current TN law, that firearm rights are an "exception" to a criminal violation, rather than a basic constitutional right. I am asking you Representative Sargent, as my representative, to prove that you really care about improving the confusing firearms laws in this state. Please demand a recall motion under Rule 53 on each of the bills listed below, and convince the other Republicans including those on the Civil Justice Subcommittee that failing to improve our 2nd Amendment rights under your watch will have consequences in future elections. If these bills need revision, then revise, improve and enact. Don't hide behind voice votes in subcommittee meetings. None of you will be able to hide any longer behind procedural manipulations that lead to inaction, while claiming "I tried my best". You have control of the executive and legislative branches and you have the ability to improve our laws regarding firearms. If you can't or won't tackle these issues then don't expect our support in the future. Andy Holt had HB0493 which is the constitutional carry legislation supported and written by TFA. According to the legislative status page on this bill, the "nayes prevailed" on a voice vote which means that not a single member of the committee wanted to be recorded as voting yes on the bill. Not a single one. Also on this bill, it is noteworthy that the Governor's lobbyist asked to be heard at the podium to announce that the Governor opposes Constituitional Carry legislation. Andy Holt also had HB1006 which is the improved civil immunity legislation that TFA wrote. This bill would have required law enforcement to consider whether a situation involved justifiable self-defense before arresting a civilian. That is, it would have adopted a higher level of review in a civilian self-defense case more along the lines of the type of in depth review that law enforcement receives when it shoots. According to the legislative status page on this bill, the "nayes prevailed" on a voice vote which means that not a single member of the committee wanted to be recorded as voting yes on the bill. Not a single one. Micah VanHuss also offered HB0040 which would have placed Tennessee in the same status as 30 other states which do not require permits or other state requirements for open carry. Although this bill also failed on a "voice vote", two legislators - Carter and Moody did specifically request that they be recorded as voting yes on these bills."

  9. S&W 439 and 3 mags. Growing up my Dad had a 39-1 and it was the first center fire pistol I remember having shot so when I saw this, nostalgia bit hard and now it sits in the safe next to my 52-2. As with most older used pieces it needed a good strip and clean so a few minutes online finding a good .PDF file about 25 minutes later it was back to good clean and ready for fun status.

  10. You know what he is doing is illegal, right? In Davidson county you must have a license to operate a lemonaid stand.

  13. I ordered 3 cases from them. Two mandolin and a saxophone. The sax case fit my PS90 SBR perfectly as well as my CZ Scorpion with the stock folded and Silencerco Omega 9k installed. One of the Mandiolin cases fit the MP5SD great too.

  15. How many of you have walked into your local gun shop looking for something specific and walked out with a new pistol or rifle instead? In my case, I stopped by my LGS to purchase a bipod for one of my rifles and I walked out with a Romanian SAR-3 instead.

  18. Yes, I got the same email blast. Sent a similar letter to Rep. Eddie Smith. Supposedly a 2nd Amendment supporter, but I see no evidence of it yet. I would rather have someone truthful that speaks with action rather than words. We'll see how this shakes out.

  23. AFAIK, the only real question regarding "showing" your firearm to anyone in this state is whether it rises to one of the standards of assault and/or aggravated assault. 39-13-101. Assault. .. Intentionally or knowingly causes another to reasonably fear imminent bodily injury 39-13-102. Aggravated assault. ...Intentionally or knowingly commits an assault as defined in § 39-13-101, and the assault: ... Involved the use or display of a deadly weapon - OS

  24. Depends on the manner in which you expose your weapon, it may be seen as brandishing by some and an overzealous LEO may agree if called. Personally, I would not show my weapon until I was ready to pull the trigger.

  27. On my way to winning the "Most Malfunctions on EVERY STAGE while shooting BAD FACTORY Ammo" category..., I managed to misplace one of my magazines while furiously trying to clear the failures to fire dud ammo from my extremely magnificent Beretta Elite that Erine (now Ernest) Langdom skillfully and ingeniously crafted for me. Thus...., if anyone happened to find a Beretta magazine during or after the match - - - please contact me. UPDATE - - - Found my missing mag! It was in the bottom of my range bag hiding behind a Velcro flap that had lifted up. WooHoooooo!!!!! Heading to the range tomorrow with different brands of ammo to see if I have a bad lot of Federal, or if its an issue with my Elite..... Standby, more to follow. Best Regards, D. Mark
