  1. Just scale it back to what you need to support yourself... smaller garden, fewer critters, etc. Just because you've got 25 acres doesn't mean you have to use it all. Perhaps there are people nearby you could barter with? That might allow you to concentrate on a few things and not have to do everything yourself.

  3. Best part of the video hands down was the look on your fathers face when the car keys were passed to him. He has an expressive face and is a genuine hoot to watch when y'all stage up something like this.

  4. Meh. I think the use of the MOAB weapon was equal parts testing it out, having some "fun" with a big ass bomb on some assholes who seriously deserved it, and sending a message to anyone who feels that a demonstration of our might and prowess is relevant to them and their interests. An All Points Bulletin of sorts to say, "Hey check this out... we've still got toys we haven't even popped on scumbags yet. Remember us?" As for Afghanistan, other than keeping ISIS, ISIS-K, SPECTRE, Hydra, HIVE, and any other miscreant organizations suppressed, who really thinks we have an end-game there that includes a stable democracy and a McDonald's on every street corner? That's never going to happen. The best we can hope for is that Al Qaeda, ISIS and the Legion of Doom are either wiped out or kept at bay, and the rest of the country somewhat peacefully goes back to the caveman #### they've been doing for eons. Stuff like growing poppies for opium, screwing goats, subjugating their women, and dressing up little boys to look like little girls so they can screw them instead of goats. Come to think of it, we should probably just rescue all of the women, children and goats, and then nuke the whole goddamn place. We haven't used one of those boomsticks lately either and the world kind of needs THAT reminder too.

  5. Cheaper than you would think. The company that sold these could have made twice as much had they priced the original run correctly. The used guns went for $1299 and $1349. The "nib" started at $1890. They steadily increased the price of those as the sold. They have like 17 left and they are priced at 2995.95. I paid $1349 for the used and got one of the first "nib" ones for $1890.

  7. Going down Thursday am for the foundation banquet Thursday night and staying through Saturday. It's too awesome to miss. I've been the last three years. Great deals on random 'gun stuff' and knives, holsters, parts, etc. Pretty good swag too.

  8. MOAB, shmoab. The British were using the 22,000 pound Grand Slam bomb in WWII. "Guvna, the jerries are giving us a spot of bother" "Well then, determine what a Lancaster bomber can carry and build a single bomb so we might give them a proper rogering"

  10. I absolutely would not sell it. I would also hesitate to bring some other family to live there (if that's what you meant) because these days that can often be WAY more trouble than it's worth ('cause people are awful). Just work it yourself and enjoy the land. If you have a lot of room for crops you might consider holding some of the land in reserve so you can rotate the crops.

  11. I'd offer ya $1650 for the used one Cool gun's and I will keep an eye out for a used one... NIB is not what I would want for my collection of "prior-military service" firearms.

  14. Most young people today want things until they figure out how much work is involved. I wouldn't beat myself up to bad. Good partners are hard to come bye.

  15. I got kinda bored with mine for a while, then I got hooked on lost PLA casting. Now I want to take more backyard casting classes. Nothing like printing and pouring some small intricate parts you couldn't make on the CNC.

  16. Well, that letter is just about what I'd expect from bureaucrats. They know damn well why you where denied but won't tell you. And some people wonder why there is so much disdain for the "justice" system.

  21. Smokey Mountain Knife Works sells guns and if you are there might as well hit Buds Gun Shop as well since they share the same parking lot. The largest used gun collection I have ever seen has been at Shylock's Pawn in Tazewell (Only TAZEWELL). They almost always have some older revolvers. I have seen Dan Wessons revolvers there for $350 and they always have a few Smiths. They had a new in the box Remington XP100 in 223 Remington for $800, if I could have afforded it I would have snatched it up. They had a Remington model 41 in like new condition for $850. Useable single shot shotguns in any caliber for $60, not remotely pretty but useable. Bought an all stainless 10/22 there for $175 several years ago. Might give Mike's Gun Shop in Tazewell a call. He has a huge selection of guns, mostly new, but he also has a decent selection of used guns as well. I would get a list of pawn shops in the area and call each one a few days before to see if any of them have what you are looking for.

  23. I heard on the news that the bomb killed 18 Bad guys and closed up 3 of the caves they have been using. Way I figure it I wish it would have killed 500 BG's and still would not make up for the 1 Green Beret that was killed in the battle for the caves.........jmho

  24. My guess is after the Taliban drags in some women and children to kill and claim that they were killed by the bomb. A blast radius of 1 mile is no joke!

  25. I'll be there with Mike Dresner. We are bringing some of our machine guns, mainly belt feds for a red carpet entrance to the after party on Saturday for all the big named companies (vortex, eotech, etc). They will be taking pictures with our guns. Pretty excited to say the least.

  26. I think this is just another example of how government is on-call to enforce edicts from business interests. Unless it's a health or safety issue, officers should not be willing to enforce on behalf of the airlines. United had a problem that was 100% business created, and therefore should have been 100% business solved. Forcing a booked, ticketed, checked, and seated passenger off a plane should never be a police function because there is no public danger in play.
