  2. There are a few good supersonic powders. If you are shooting jackets bullets it is really hard to beat the consistecy of Lil'Gun. I use it for supers and subs, 8 grains for subs weighing 200+ grains and 16 for supers weighing 150 grains or less. A great " universal" powder is IMR 4227 because it works well for subsonic and supersonic loads. You can't get to the same velocities as with a supersonic powder but for a powder that does everything it is hard to beat. BTW, what barrel length and gas length does your AT have? Not sure if you have my number but if you, or anyone else, has ANY Blackout questions please contact me. I have an immense amount of experience with it. I have even designed bullets for it. I am less than a month away from selling a 265 grain bullet designed specifically for the caliber. It is shooting sub 2 MOA without load development. It is stable in any Blackout. Feeds from a magazine. And because it is so heavy it uses less powder which means it is quieter. They will be available from ACME bullet company initially but will also be available from some MAJOR component resellers. We have close to two years of independent testing of this bullet to ensure it is reliable and accurate. My number is the Knoxville area code (VOL) 789-5796, anyone can call anytime because I enjoy talking about the caliber, guns as well as life.

  3. I buy mine at Flippers Bait and Tackle or Poindexters baits Shop both in Gallatin but they are sold all over on line. I just buy them here locally to keep local small businesses operating. Hope this helps

  4. Man, I'm gonna get beat about the head and shoulders, but... at least I'm able to admit when I'm wrong. Many of you have heard me express my dislike of the M&P series. I now have a .45 Shield on my hip. Wound up trading my trusty Glock 36 in. This feels better, holds one more round, shoots better and more comfortably... ... proceed with the beatings...

  5. ...dyed my 10 year old daughter's hair purple. I wonder what her mother will say when she wakes up in the morning? My daughter went to her first competition of the season last weekend (her second season competing) and brought home 2nd place in all three disciplines she shot in, primitive archery (recurve,) BB and Target Air. I asked her what she wanted as a reward. She wanted to dye her hair purple for the summer. Today was the last day of school, so after her 'promotion' from Elementary to Middle School this morning, I decided that we could dye her hair purple. Her mother is unaware. Tomorrow is going to be very exciting.

  7. Sand the stuff and re-blue, there done. Or just leave it alone, shoot the mess out of the rifle then resale it.

  8. Thanks Prag. You always something valuable to say. I will be taking another rifle class with him this fall along with trying to train with Cruel Hand Luke when I get a chance. Hopefully I'll be able to meet up and take a class you are in sometime soon. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk

  9. Yes, but above 5mw, just as the drones are above 55lbs. Most laser incidents involved standard laser pointers, albeit most are the new(er) green lasers, but under 5mw. The problem is really those mentally challenged individuals that do not think about or maybe care about what happens when they do stuff like that. No form of law or regulation will stop them from doing those things, and it is only the ones that are already willing to follow the rules that will be effected. On the same token, I think the FCC needs to be told to back off the FMRS band as well. But that's another whole ball of wax.

  10. Thank you for posting this SGS! And Good on ya for getting out and doing the work! It sounds like a solid class, especially for a one day class. Training such as this, and especially in the rain, teaches you a lot about yourself and your gear, things you will never learn on a dry square controlled range. Many props to your instructor for running a "Hot Range"! Life is a "Hot Range" and as responsible armed adults we need to learn to work in such an environment. I look forward to further reports along your journey SGS.

  12. I use to use minnows all the time for Crappie fish untilta buddy of mine took me one time. I asked him if we were going to stop and get minnows and he said, nope, don't need any. When were got to where we were going to fish he handed me a rod already rigged and it had a Crappie tube bait on it in Black body with chartreuese tails and I no more than got it down in the brush pile before I had a big fat Crappie on. We both caught our limits in keepers in about 1 1/2 hours. Caught a bunch of fish. If they quit biting one color you switched to another. The one I caught most on was the Red Body with Chartruese tails. If you have never tried them you might want to give the a try. You can catch about 8 or 10 fish on 1 tube..............

  13. I'll bet you'll have a hard time getting that solder hot enough with a heat gun. It'll heat a big area and perhaps also weaken the solder that's holding the sight on. You might be able to remove it with a soldering iron and wick. Otherwise you could polish it off with some fine sandpaper or they make chemical solder removers.

  14. Not buying it, sounds akin to the reasoning for gun control. While other models may be different than mine, mine will return back if signal is lost. The farthest I sent it is like 700ft horizontal, at around 10-15ft AGL, At airports, they should deploy jammers for rc frequencies, that way aircraft will be safer.

  19. This is the one I purchased, it came with flat magazine plates in the box and I swapped one to take up less room in my pack. Overall very happy with it, light accurate reliable so far, easy to take down and clean, and a lifetime warranty. Didn't want to add a caliber so I wanted another 9mm.

  23. We are often asked at what point the distinction is made between needing to be a Benefactor or becoming a Vendor in order to sell things on TGO. Hopefully, this post clears it up a bit. Benefactor accounts are meant for private individuals who wish to support TGO. Individuals may list things that they personally own but no longer want, or things that they personally produced as a hobbyist so long as the annual sales volume of the latter doesn't surpass $3,000 within a year either on TGO or elsewhere. More on that in a moment. Sales of personally owned items that you no longer want exceeding $3,000 do not fall under this category. Obviously, a person could pretty easily sell more than $3,000 in personally-owned firearms or other items and we completely understand that. There is a common-sense difference between things that you personally own and things that you possess simply for resale. Vendor accounts for meant for those who are engaged in the business of providing a service or product(s). Obviously, it includes a business with an Internet sales presence or a brick and mortar office or retail storefront, but it also includes anyone who the State of Tennessee would refer to as a "Minimal Activity Business". Essentially a Minimal Activity Business is anyone who's sales are greater than $3,000 within the calendar year. For our purposes, we clarify the language a bit and state that those sales can occur either on TGO or elsewhere, in-state or out of state. If you produce to sell, sell, or provide goods or services annually to other people and those sales are greater than $3,000 you are a Business and need to be a Vendor on TGO in order to market to our members. As always, if you have questions about your specific use-case and aren't sure which is right, please contact me directly and I will be glad to chat with you. The approach that I outlined above may not be perfect and is not chiseled in stone, so a conversation between you and me can be helpful.

  24. Here is a copy of the letter sent to my rep today with copies to a few others on the Civil Justice Subcommittee. I don't know a whole lot about the TN Firearms Association but they seem to be trying to improve the bias in this supposedly gun friendly state...the bias that exercising your 2nd amendment right is a "privileged exception" to a crime, rather than one of the enumerated rights in the Bill of Rights. The info in italics is from an email blast from the TFA. I don't know the predominant feelings on this forum about the TFA good or bad, but as far as I can tell they are trying to do more to improve gun rights in TN than the NRA or anyone else. Unfortunately all the supposed pro 2nd amendment Republicans we think are going to improve things....never produce. Honestly my hot button topic remains removing the potentially onerous criminal penalties for carrying past a sign ( yes I know the issues below are of potentially greater import), but these guys in the legislature have no intent on improving anything, even though our supposedly pro 2A politicians have both the legislative and executive branches finally under the same party. Its time to call these guys out. "Representatives Sargent See the information below in italics from the Tennessee Firearms Association. Republican legislators continue to fail to support 2nd Amendment rights in TN when they are actually in session at the legislature. All lip service during campaigns, but no real reasoned examination of improving the underlying bias in current TN law, that firearm rights are an "exception" to a criminal violation, rather than a basic constitutional right. I am asking you Representative Sargent, as my representative, to prove that you really care about improving the confusing firearms laws in this state. Please demand a recall motion under Rule 53 on each of the bills listed below, and convince the other Republicans including those on the Civil Justice Subcommittee that failing to improve our 2nd Amendment rights under your watch will have consequences in future elections. If these bills need revision, then revise, improve and enact. Don't hide behind voice votes in subcommittee meetings. None of you will be able to hide any longer behind procedural manipulations that lead to inaction, while claiming "I tried my best". You have control of the executive and legislative branches and you have the ability to improve our laws regarding firearms. If you can't or won't tackle these issues then don't expect our support in the future. Andy Holt had HB0493 which is the constitutional carry legislation supported and written by TFA. According to the legislative status page on this bill, the "nayes prevailed" on a voice vote which means that not a single member of the committee wanted to be recorded as voting yes on the bill. Not a single one. Also on this bill, it is noteworthy that the Governor's lobbyist asked to be heard at the podium to announce that the Governor opposes Constituitional Carry legislation. Andy Holt also had HB1006 which is the improved civil immunity legislation that TFA wrote. This bill would have required law enforcement to consider whether a situation involved justifiable self-defense before arresting a civilian. That is, it would have adopted a higher level of review in a civilian self-defense case more along the lines of the type of in depth review that law enforcement receives when it shoots. According to the legislative status page on this bill, the "nayes prevailed" on a voice vote which means that not a single member of the committee wanted to be recorded as voting yes on the bill. Not a single one. Micah VanHuss also offered HB0040 which would have placed Tennessee in the same status as 30 other states which do not require permits or other state requirements for open carry. Although this bill also failed on a "voice vote", two legislators - Carter and Moody did specifically request that they be recorded as voting yes on these bills."

  25. Tennessee is oddly not that carry friendly compared to the surrounding states. The permits until recently had quite a few restrictions on them that made legal carry difficult. You had to have a permit just to have a handgun loaded in your car. You couldn't even have a long gun loaded in the vehicle even with a permit. The permits are also initially somewhat expensive with the training class and fees. You'd think the state would trust people that are forced to take a class, shoot on a range, and get fingerprinted, but the state obviously doesn't when you can't even carry legally where the permits are issued. Yeah I guess it is not New Jersey where you probably won't get a permit unless you are politically connected but it sure isn't like a lot of places.
