  1. To all fathers, husbands, step dads, and family leaders, I pray the Lord continues to give you the strength, wisdom, and courage to be men of greatness, to chose to be extraordinary, to be the man you want to be.

  2. It would be almost impossible. There are rumors that the other ship was running dark with its AIS systems turned off. We will see. Prayers to the crew and their families.

  3. "Stopping Power" is largely a construct created by the FBI and other agencies. Better to have a weapon than have the super stopper 1000mm magnum at home in the safe because you can't carry it! Besides when the bad guy makes a really bad mistake and robs a store full, of armed citizens or off duty LEO's getting shot from multiple directions they are getting what they asked for. I've carried a 22 when circumstances dictated it. Shot placement is more important than anything else...

  4. The Bersa's I own were made in Brazil and yes, for the most part 380 caliber is the gun of choice in most of Brazil. I don't know where people get the idea that a 380 Caliber gun is an ineffective caliber. In all I have read it is a short 9mm and I have shot some different ammo maker rounds through mine and I think they have plenty of impact power but that may just be my opinion. I do know I damn sure would not want to be shot by one.........JMHO

  6. Had to work in east tn and said well.... I'll cruise through buds to see if there was something that I could not live without. After browsing and carousing amongst a load of people, I bellied up to the counter and asked for a sig P320X5.... knowing these are nowhere to be found right now the counterman yanked one off the wall. 30 bucks more than national average price but being a Sig fanboy, I got it!!! Now the bad part.... THP has not sent me my renewed DL yet, it's been over 30 days, buds would not take the paper copy as valid ID, something about ATF not liking the paper temporary ID ,so now after putting it on layaway, I'll have to wait to pick up the X5 until I get my plastic DL in hand... Sorry had to say yay and wtf in one thread!!! Happy Father's Day! lol be home drooling staring out the window[emoji38] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  7. Don't come to my place after the SHTF looking for good reading materials! You'll have nothing, and I'll have a nice collection of 1920's men's fashion advertisements. I'll just turn you away and go back to working on my tails and top hat ensemble.

  11. My edc is a mid size 9mm. I am fortunate that most days in can carry that. I used to be a 45 guy, but years of engineering on 9mm ammunition has changed my mind.

  12. They say Brazil, but isn't the round of choice in South America .380acp? According to some sources on Googlenet, I hear .380 is mostly ineffective. Are these magic .380 bullets, if so I want some for my Kimber Micro.

  14. Some more. I did a slight redesign on one of my AR magazine pouches. The main modification was just adding a reinforcement lip around the index notch to prevent collapse, and widening said notch slightly. The other modification was adding in semi hidden tunnels for running shock cord for bungee retention.

  15. I am becoming an expert at 3 - 5 lol. This is the first mag, fresh from the box, haven't shot it in over 9 months. 300 successful rounds, mixed HP / FMJ with no failures. Riding in a N82 Tactical as I type...

  16. I've had the best luck with duracell and panasonic brand batteries. Energizer and some other brands seem to be of lower quality. I'm swapping batteries at about 6 months. I date the batteries with a sharpie when I install them

  20. I have an indoor arlo pro that I use to monitor a remote location. It runs on AC. Has audio to listen, not sure if I can talk back through it. You can watch live, or set up a schedule to monitor and it will record 7 days with no additional monthly charges. It's pretty wide angle so outside it probably wouldn't work that well, it's not rated for outside I don't think. It works great for my purposes and it was super easy to set up. I'm only at the remote location about once a week and I wish it had a feature that sent a notification if for some reason it disconnects from the network.

  23. I'm all into milsurp bolt actions. It was my dad's thing and he passed it on to me. Mosin's will put a hurt on you after a while but I have a theory based on thousands of rounds. First, when surplus ammo was cheap I would go pop off 60-80 rounds or however much I brought in one session to the point I was just pulling the trigger so I didn't have to take any ammo home. That's punishing in and of itself. Second, Mosin's have a shorter stock than normal rifles. I firmly believes that makes a difference. I broke down and put a nancy pad on my main Mosin and it definitely helped in increasing that length of pull and getting an extra 20-40 rounds out of a ammo burning session. Now, an 8mm in K98 configuration with proper 196 gr surplus ammo is absolutely brutal. The heavier the bullet the more it kicks...or beats you up. Romanian surplus 8mm carries 150 gr bullets and Is a joy to shoot compared to Turkish and Yugo. While the Turkish is the hottest of the bunch, it is not "machine gun ammo". I think it's just more suited to the longer barreled Mauser the Turks made. I know the Turk stuff I have performed noticebly different in my Yugo M48 (shot was high) than Yugo and Romanian stuff. My '43 nazi stamped Mauser Oberdorf K98 has not tasted corrosive ammo since WWII and never will.

  24. I won't really know until match day of course, but I think I fixed the 870 today. I replaced the extractor, spring, and plunger and it's running fine now. And since I pulled the barrel to work on it, I checked my slug zero once I got it good and hot. Look closely - that's two shots at 50yds from kneeling. Giggity.

  28. Well, I thought about bikinis but I don't think I'd want to see most of the folks that I have seen at past gun shows in bikinis so that's out. Prepping stuff? Maybe it would be more appropriate to have a prepping show/expo with a portion of the sales floor dedicated to guns/ammo/reloading supplies rather than vice versa. I guess I'll go with 'nothing'. Honestly, about the only think I'd like to see that is usually missing from gun shows would be actual deals rather than people trying to sell guns for $50 to $100 more than I can buy them at an LGS.

  29. The poll needs another choice - nothing. Have the same rules as the Tulsa shows, gunshows are for guns. No prepping supplies, cheap clothes, beef jerky, camping gear, those damn annoying taser/zapper/bug laser/whatever they are displays, etc.
