  2. Just for clarity: What you picture is bullet setback. Not good of course as it raises pressure of the round considerably. A squib is an underpowered load causing the bullet to remain in the barrel after firing. - OS

  3. AIM has several of the models back in stock. https://www.aimsurplus.com/catalog.aspx?groupid=5392 Someone should buy one of each so I can live vicariously.

  4. That kind of thing could land you in a federal pen for years! After all, it is obviously a HAND gun () but it is attached to a device that allows you to support it with your shoulder. Further, this weapon uses technology which allows it to be fired with very little to no noise (and we all know a gun that doesn't have the potential to cause hearing damage to the user is much, much more deadly.) I hope you have all of your papers, registrations and tax stamps in order or the ATF will be coming for you!

  5. Everything about this incident was horrible - including the trial.

  6. Ah, yes..I can see it now. Mine is a bit older, looks like a t-handle, the trigger releases the pressure off two ball bearings, releasing the string. This one looks like the wrist sling does alot of the pull, unlike mine that just uses the sling as extra support.

  7. I don't drink much coffee (I like coffee but coffee doesn't like me) but I imagine it is kind of like Denis Leary said about smokers. He was talking about how a surgeon general's warning wasn't going to make a bit of difference to real smokers (such as himself.) He said something along the lines of, "You could come out with a brand of cigarettes in a black pack with a skull and crossbones and call them Tumors and people would be lining up around the block to get the things."

  8. Wow. That sounds like it could require drastic measures - like securing your pup for a safe ride in the back of a pickup and going through the car wash or something.

  10. Mighty nice of you. I have/had that same rattle bag, it did get me a few over the years. No clue what the other item is, thought it was a small knife. It will surely be of good use to someone.

  11. I take it you're not a hot sauce connoisseur. They have all kinds of crazy names including "Death Wish".

  12. My oldest grandson told me he would be in a tree tomorrow at daylight and hopes to be back at the house by 8 AM. He has three nice bucks on a trail cam that walk right under 1 of his stands every morning about sunrise and he hopes to bag 1 early before the heat gets up.............

  13. Can't make it tomorrow, but I'm not missing next weekend. The temperature around here is going to be too perfect to miss. I have a decent 10pt on my trail cam that's begging to come home with me. Gotta get out there before he gets a better offer.

  14. Thermacells have become an essential part of my early season hunting kit. Truly great equipment. Permethrin is even better. That stuff is like a bug force field.

  15. I seem to have been able to avoid most the ticks and chiggers, its the freakin wasps and bees that cause me grief up in the stand! There always seems to be some bug that looks like a something out of the movie Alien that likes to hover in your vicinity sounding like a Huey helicopter. Hate those things.

  16. Wear them out until they give in. Walk, run, ball, frisbee, whatever.... tire them out until they don't care anymore.

  18. That's my Redbone Coonhound also. He's about 85# and will spread all 4 legs out so I can't even drag him through the door. We have to tie him up after a walk on the leash and then he gets a shower from the hose and shampoo. That method can't always be used in winter though. He hates water. I have a feeling he would find a way to get that peanut butter and avoid the bath.

  19. I don't own one but a good friend of mine does. His is in .308 and is wearing a sightron 10-50x50 AO scope. When I make this next statement please understand I am not brand bashing or being a "hater" or anything like that, I am just not a big Ruger fan. I am not saying they don't make fine shooting instruments, they are just not my cup of tea. That is just my opinion and that is all it is worth. I'm saying that to emphasize the next statement. His Ruger precision is an amazing rifle. The bolt is so well machined that I swear I think the bolt, receiver and chamber are all machined from one billet by machinists with elfin like magic. The trigger, while clearly a blatant copy of the accutrigger, is amazing. The whole rifle is just really a well made system. I will say it will make you a better shot, as a matter of fact, if you have any long range shooting skill at all, it is almost boring to shoot at less that 400 yards. at 225 I could get 3 out of 5 touching and the last two were because of me. It is hard to get a good cheek weld when the scope is set up for someone else.

  20. Thanks for the awesome feedback. I'll probably still get the .410 for rabbits and squirrels but keep an eye out for a full choke 12 before I tackle turkey.
