  1. I'm up to Episode 8 or 9. I can't believe I pulled two tours in that ####hole. The worst thing was coming back to the US and being treated like dog####. I vowed I'd never let that happen to the lads and was part of a meet, greet and thank group while spending several years in AZ for returning folks from the desert. God help me but I love every one of those young folks.

  2. This is good stuff... Somewhere in the "Leroy Film Archives" ive got a great bunch of snapshots from the late 70's or early 80's of these boys in their "uniforms" at a great Fourth of July Watermelon Slicing (...no joke...) and Meet n Greet Rally in a big field just across US 441 from the Meridian Baptist Church in South Knox County... It was funny then; i think it's funny now... Never interrupt anyone makin a fool of themselves... As The God-Man said:.. "... Do not cast your pearls before the swine... They may turn on you and rend you to pieces..."... I say; if the Antifascist can gather; so can the White Supremacists... Here's hopin that they both meet in the same time and greatly confligrate... Laughin and Watchin leroy... Watchin to the west for the big blow up in Cumberland County...

  4. Not a very good picture, it's a screen shot from a slow motion video. I was shooting my 357 reloads out of a Ruger LCR which was not fun but I thought the picture was interesting.

  5. That's counter to the ability of folks to get outraged over this. Every time black folks have tried to speak up and protest about the need for police reform they've been told to do it differently. And now that some are using their platform to engage in a quiet, peaceful, nonviolent protest, it's being twisted into a nonsensical claim it is disrespectful to troops. I mean, I wish folks would just be honest and say what they really are thinking. "Shut up monkeys and entertain me. You're supposed to be dancing, not thinking!"

  6. I admire your stamina. For me, there comes a time when you just sit back, read, shake your head and move on. Nothing like a bunch of freedom lovers attempting to restrict the freedoms of others. I'm a veteran, and protest don't bother me at all, but I'm a liberal commie. Besides it's no fun not being able to talk about 45 and the wonderful job he's doing. It's almost as if he doesn't exist.

  7. Maybe, but I think the US Army is OK with this protest. Since that is one of the freedoms they fight for. But hey, maybe I am wrong...

  8. Should I also boycott the United States Army, since they are sponsors? As a vet, I would rather not.

  11. If you go, make sure to check out the Korean war memorial after it gets dark. The night lighting on it really brings something to it that you can't see during the day.

  13. Thank you my friend for that information but my days of flying ended when they brought me home in 1973. I made myself a promise my feet would never be more than a 10 foot step ladder would take me and I have held good to that promise. Besides when I go I want family with me.

  14. I think I made it through watching it with no bad dreams so far. I did actually learn a lot of stuff by watching it about just how political the war really was. I knew it was a political war but had no idea just how far the Presidents and their advisers went to tried to keep it out of the sight of the American people and failed so miserably. That was one of the main reason for many of the protests. The people learned a lot more that they tried to hide. While in country we got many orders that many of us did not want to follow and I can remember a lot of them that did not get carried out when it came to civlians. We were not there to kill civilans. In all reality the South Vietnam civilians were going to suffer a lose lose situation reagardless of which side actually won. I have put off visiting the Wall since it was completed but I think I will make plans to have some of my family take me to Washington DC and I will go hopefully before I get to old to make the trip.............JMHO

  15. I might would be in favor of this but would be a waste of good napalm since it looks like there may not be enough in attendence to drop even 1 canister of the naplam plus the people of East Tennessee have seen enough large fires and really don't need another one...........JMHO

  17. I put Pergo laminate in my house about 15 years ago. I wouldn't use an adhesive, as its designed to float to allow for thermal expansion. Check along the wall as the flooring should have a small gap between it and the wall. If a board is pushing against the wall, it may be the cause of the warped boards.

  19. If it's not a big deal I wouldn't mess with it. Cause if you're worried about 1 board, in one spot and 1/8" and it's old flooring, you're looking for perfection and that will require replacement. Just chalk it up to character and move along.

  20. Fantastic documentary. Albeit a bit longer than it needed to be. I love history and read on the major WW's regularly; will definitely be reading more about Vietnam after seeing how much of a cluster**** that war was. Never understood before this why there was such a level of civil outrage over the war, but now I think I would've been in the middle of it myself. (But against the policies, not the soldiers)

  22. I couldn't figure out if this went down last night , rescheduled for today ? Not enough "supremacist" to matter IMO. This proves once again the less coverage this kind of gets the better for everyone. This goes for both sides.

  23. Bad is a good word. Wrong is another fine word. They should put together a football team and have games with cheerleaders and a band. The Libtards against the skinheads. With live TV coverage of coarse. No Gatorade or water just beer in aluminum cans (no glass allowed)

  27. I just thought of a total upside to so many white folks getting pissed at the NFL over this. Maybe the fervor for spending tax payer dollars on new stadiums will come to an end. That'd be good for everybody.

  28. Back about 10 years ago a friend sent me this. He has long since past but I enjoyed reading it ever so often and it helps me to keep faith in people. It's kind of a long read and I bet you find it as rewarding as I did. I was at the corner grocery store buying some early potatoes. I noticed a small boy, delicate of bone and feature, ragged but clean, hungrily apprising a basket of freshly picked green peas. I paid for my potatoes but was also drawn to the display of fresh green peas. I am a pushover for creamed peas and new potatoes. Pondering the peas, I couldn't help overhearing the conversation between Mr. Miller (the store owner) and the ragged boy next to me. 'Hello Barry, how are you today?' 'H'lo, Mr. Miller. Fine, thank ya. Jus' admirin' them peas. They sure look good.' 'They are good, Barry. How's your Ma?' 'Fine.. Gittin' stronger alla' time.' 'Good. Anything I can help you with?' 'No, Sir. Jus' admirin' them peas.' 'Would you like to take some home?' asked Mr. Miller. 'No, Sir. Got nuthin' to pay for 'em with.' 'Well, what have you to trade me for some of those peas?' 'All I got's my prize marble here.' 'Is that right? Let me see it' said Miller. 'Here 'tis.. She's a dandy.' 'I can see that. Hmmmmm, only thing is this one is blue and I sort of go for red. Do you have a red one like this at home?' the store owner asked. 'Not zackley but almost.' 'Tell you what. Take this sack of peas home with you and next trip this way let me look at that red marble'. Mr. Miller told the boy. 'Sure will. Thanks Mr. Miller.' Mrs. Miller, who had been standing nearby, came over to help me. With a smile she said, 'There are two other boys like him in our community, all three are in very poor circumstances. Jim just loves to bargain with them for peas, apples, tomatoes, or whatever.. When they come back with their red marbles, and they always do, he decides he doesn't like red after all and he sends them home with a bag of produce for a green marble or an orange one, when they come on their next trip to the store.' I left the store smiling to myself, impressed with this man. A short time later I moved to Colorado , but I never forgot the story of this man, the boys, and their bartering for marbles. Several years went by, each more rapid than the previous one. Just recently I had occasion to visit some old friends in that Idaho community and while I was there learned that Mr. Miller had died. They were having his visitation that evening and knowing my friends wanted to go, I agreed to accompany them. Upon arrival at the mortuary we fell into line to meet the relatives of the deceased and to offer whatever words of comfort we could. Ahead of us in line were three young men. One was in an army uniform and the other two wore nice haircuts, dark suits and white shirts...all very professional looking. They approached Mrs. Miller, standing composed and smiling by her husband's casket. Each of the young men hugged her, kissed her on the cheek, spoke briefly with her and moved on to the casket. Her misty light blue eyes followed them as, one by one, each young man stopped briefly and placed his own warm hand over the cold pale hand in the casket. Each left the mortuary awkwardly, wiping his eyes. Our turn came to meet Mrs. Miller. I told her who I was and reminded her of the story from those many years ago and what she had told me about her husband's bartering for marbles. With her eyes glistening, she took my hand and led me to the casket. 'Those three young men who just left were the boys I told you about. They just told me how they appreciated the things Jim 'traded' them. Now, at last, when Jim could not change his mind about color or size.....they came to pay their debt..' 'We've never had a great deal of the wealth of this world,' she confided, 'but right now, Jim would consider himself the richest man in Idaho .' With loving gentleness she lifted the lifeless fingers of her deceased husband. Resting underneath were three exquisitely shined red Marbles. The Moral : We will not be remembered by our words, but by our kind deeds. Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath.

  30. They are so disillusioned and ignorant that they think hrc will be president if Trupm/Pence were to be gone. I really think they believe that. Seems like a lot of folks wasted 8 years in college for that degree in musical basket weaving.
