  3. I don't know about TV by itself but now with the invention of the smart phones that allow you to do it all including watch your favorite TV shows and people that are sitting next to each other bench waiting for the Bus will text each other rather than just speak to each other. To me those are more enslaving then anything else. Stats show that the average person will check their cell phones an average of 100 times a day. Smart phones are more addictive than Morphine.......JMHO

  5. I will be attending on December 9-10 at Tactical Response in Camden. Just seeing if anyone on here will be attending. Looking forward to a good training experience. I'll be using this thread to post pictures, video if I get any, and my thoughts after I finish the class. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk

  6. I mentioned it, in passing previously. My mother passed. It was a stressed and estranged situation. There is at least one here I have discussed the relationship with in depth as he has experienced similar. I suppose what is bothering me more than anything is my lack of ability to grieve. I understand that the majority of humanity had parents that sought to protect and raise them, I was not a member of the majority. It has been several weeks, and I am not a vocal, or emotional person. I like the anonymity of the interwebs for that fact. Here I am who I am. Not who I pretend to be. In life I am a highly successful and put together cat. My wife has noticed a crack in the last few weeks. But she hasn't pressed the issue. I am good at what I do. I don't have many flaws. But I did not have the white picket fence my current self would lead others to believe. Even in my honesty. My mother died. I am the oldest of six. I was the only one there. I stepped up after failures and paid for and arranged everything. I have achieved my childhood dream of having my mother's body in my trunk. I don't know what do to after that fact beyond not doing something I will regret. I have written off the 'family farm.' I have written off my siblings. I would die before my heathen experienced the life that molded me. And that is possibly what grieves me the most. I am who I am for what I have experienced. I once wrote to Dear Prudence for advice, and she thankfully confirmed that what I have accomplished was me, no guilt. But I can't lie, I still feel guilt. I have a homeless sibling, two in jail/prison, a victim of the welfare system and a full blown alcoholic failure. Is it guilt I feel at being successful and accomplished? Think of the worst of the worst, and that was my life. My first suggestion for my mother's occupation on her death certificate was 'drug addict whore.' We settled on CNA after the realization that 'Homemaker' was just as much of an insult. After all, she did work as a CNA for a week or two. It is times like this that I wish that I could forget it all. I came up through the foster care system. Why do I care about the other life? Why does every bad decision in my life haunt me? Why does every good decision in my life bring into sharp contrast the bad decisions? I am not seeking sympathy. I am not seeking support. I don't know what I am seeking. I do know that I have to get this off my chest. I spent the weekend with my mother's last boyfriend, he would have been her fourth husband, but they never married. As such they lasted twenty years. He is a hell of man. My daughter calls him Papaw. He is proud my me. And I love him as my father. He knows this now. Of that I am proud. Of my heathen I am proud. Of my wife, I am proud. Of my house, cars, dogs, guns, and guitars I am proud.

  7. Thanks for the honest introspection, but don't let it abase you in any way. Life is messy and complicated period, for you obviously especially so. Be proud you've risen above a morass that could have easily sucked you down into it for good. Peace out, OS

  9. If you like that kind of thing, you could have a great time watching a few more of his videos. David Windestal is one of the best R/C model builders I have ever seen, with regard to needless and awesome destruction. He used to to be affiliated with a group called Flitetest and they did some of the best things with R/C flight to bring it to the masses that could ever be done. it was through their videos that I began to appreciate his engineering genius.

  11. IDK why they ever got listed as a DD, I know in the early 80's street sweepers were FS at local gun shows in San Diego, I'm guessing BATFE changed them to stamp guns prior to 86 for some crazy ass reason. I still own this SPAS-12ga I bought it from a SD swat officer back in 1984, HQ changed their rules for having personal weapons in patrol cars, so he sold it to me. If a USAS-12 and Street Sweeper are DD, it makes no sense why they didn't DD the Spas 12 or 15 too... 2017-07-16_07-14-11 by Johnny Rotten, on Flickr

  16. KNS is coming out with an adjustable gas piston now for AKs, or were, haven't seen anything on it recently. Not saying you don't go for drilling out the pistons, just throwing out options. Next up is you need to build one.

  20. I'm with you. I like my AK's and own more of them now than AR's. I just wish I had the knowledge and equipment like you to tune them. I'm thinking about buying a press to drill out the pistons like you do to help with the recoil.

  22. Sometimes the truth hurts. I spent the better part of my adult life carrying ARs for work. I would, without a doubt, grab an AK before an AR when lives are on the line. I will say I never really had any real problems with ARs but after watching how Afghans clean their AKs I realized cleanliness and lubrication are not required for an AK to work. If you told an Afghan to clean an AR it would probably malfunction the first shot, not so with an AK.

  24. They are known for having issues. But the good part is those issues come on pretty early. And to put your mind at ease Century Arms has always taken care of my problems without hesitation. Does the trigger have a "C" on it? If so those are some of the best "factory" AK triggers on the market. They have a very nice two stage feel to them. They are my go to trigger for all my guns. I would suggest taking pictures of the tail of the carrier, the bolt lugs on the bolt as well as the locking lugs on the front trunion. Then snap the same pictures every cleaning so you can compare to see any problems before they become a bigger problem. It will also help you if you have to send it back for repair. Now you need to get rounds down range to learn the best fighting rifle on the planet.

  25. Great class. Definitely worth the money. If you're one of those people that don't like them or James Yeager go train and experience it for yourself. The lecture and mindset stuff is worth way more than the class alone. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
