  3. A massage/heated mat for my recliner (already put me out once this afternoon), a bunch of gun cleaning items, several guns (pics to follow later) and a certificate from my wife for a new (very large) gun safe of my choosing. The best gift this season though was getting my in-laws settled and safe in assisted living (mother in law moved from NC to TN near us) and my father in law a nursing home lined up to move him in January from NC to TN. They will now be within 10 minutes instead of 2 1/2 hours away. Been a tough few months watching their health crash around them but we are still Blessed more than we should be.

  4. I couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting at least 1 or 2 grand kids in my house lol, probably be able to hit 3-4 here in a few more months..

  8. I've missed more Christmas' than I can count, so it was great being home with my family for this one. Couldn't have asked or wanted for anything other than that but my wife really went above and beyond and surprised me with a S&W Governor. She new that I'd been saving here and there for one but she did me one better and saved up a bit each month this year to be able to get it for me. I was completely surprised and feeling like a very lucky husband. I also think I better bring my A game for our anniversary in a couple weeks.

  9. Bulgarian AK74 parts kit, rivets, new gun belt, and a tear off med kit for the gun belt. Haven't ordered anything for myself yet but probably going to a barrel and receiver for the ak.

  10. I personally rank the Smashing Pumpkins as one of, if not the definitive act of the 90's. Nirvana, Tool, and Creed be damned. Billy Corgan summed it all up in a few simple albums. Siamese Dream was gold, literally (;)) and Melon Collie was indisputably a genre definer. Alternative music never hit the high it did in the 90's before, or again. Even now, when I pick up a guitar, I dream of being as good as Corgan or Iha. Shoegazing is underrated.

  11. Twenty years ago, I paid a great sum of money (for a young adult) to import The Proximity Effect at Sam Goody in Athens. They were the only place that could get diverse things like that. I bought Pearl Jam's Last Kiss Single there as well, not knowing at the time it would only be available as such. They got me several Iron Maiden albums and I stood in line for Metallica's S&M. Chain store or not, I mourn the loss of quality music stores. Amazon fills that roll now, but I recall I day when I could walk into a brick and mortar and they knew i wasn't asking about Christmas Carols when I asked for Sleigh Bells.

  13. As we head into the holiday weekend, I want to pause for a moment and wish ALL of you and your families a very Merry Christmas from me, my family, and the Staff here at TGO. I sincerely hope that whatever you are doing over the next few days, that you find yourself in good health and in a good place. If you will be surrounded by family or friends, I hope that you enjoy their company. If you are going it solo, I pray that it is by your choice and that you find peace and relaxation in it. And, if the holidays will be a challenging time for you or if you will be spending it on the job, I hope that you know that you really aren't alone and that your friends here at TGO care about you and wish you the merriest holiday possible in spite of the circumstances. For our members who will be spending Christmas in uniform and on the job -- whether police, corrections, fire, EMS, healthcare, linemen, and of course our beloved armed services -- I especially want to thank you and your families for the sacrifice that you make to keep the rest of us safe, healthy and comfortable. God bless all of you and... MERRY CHRISTMAS!

  14. I got a happy wife, kids, and grandkids. That means more to me than anything I could have gotten. There is no better feeling than making your family happy. Ok, Shania Twain delivering a new Barrett 50 in skimpy lingerie Christmas morning would have been ok. Seeing the look on her and my wife's face when I shouted and jumped like a child, grabbed the Barrett, and closed the door on Shania would have been worth it.

  15. I got an Echo, that was neat. Now I need to learn to use it. The puppy got my a Deadbeat Thank You Fuzz pedal. Which brings into sharp contrast that my Mule Strat needs to be finished. $300 in parts and labor on a $100 guitar is awesome.

  17. Na. There is a power plant lake here that I can fish. The water around the discharge area stays pretty warm so I plan on fishing that.

  20. Yeah, the critics are butchering it. I can see why though, it was predictable and left a lot to the audience to decipher. I kinda liked that part of it. If they had spent five hours telling up about who was related to who and why the Dark Lord wanted that ring back... Oops, my bad, wrong Orc movie. The special effects were good and the acting wasn't terrible. The setting was I liked the most though. I have also found that I rarely agree with critics. I mean, they take themselves too serious, and in the end they are just pretentious and baseless in their reviews. Some of the worst and most boring films I have seen have been "critically acclaimed."

  24. I have heard of Coyotes taking small house dogs from peoples back yards in town around Nashville. If one tries to get my dog Darby It is going to be 1 time I will be shooting a fire arm inside the city here. I won't tolerate a Coyote trying to hurt or kill my dog.

  25. My wife and I just watched “A Christmas Story: Live!” It’s on Hulu. Pretty dang good production but I enjoy the movie more. I’d check it out though for anyone that enjoys the movie. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  37. M&P 2.0 Compact 9mm. The safety will have to go but it was a good deal so I'll get the frame plugs and remove it. The trigger ins't quite as good as my TP9SF, but the grip feels better. Now for an IWB holster, Ameriglow CAP sights, and some spare mags...

  38. I don't know about the rest of you...but I don't own any Assault Rifles. A few modern sporting rifles, but none of those evil ones that lurk in the shadows and fire indiscriminately at people. Hope his few minutes of fame bites him in the butt.
