  2. I can make a recommendation about what I don't want to hear... Politics I realize politics are important in the gun world, but it feels like here lately the two go hand in hand all of the time. I just want to hear about guns, stories about guns, project guns (not Hi Points, lol), improving your guns, improving yourself as a shooter, etc.

  3. I will donate $20 to the set-up, start a “go fund us” thread for the hats and it will be over in a day or two if I had to bet. Start the thread and quote me please.

  4. I believe if I had the scratch I'd buy one just to display for that very reason! Outstanding!

  5. The best option is if they say > "Glad to see you carrying your pistol...everywhere" Let's get back to this:

  6. Figured long guns section may get more traffic than under the NFA section. Saw this earlier, from Franklin Armory. 11.5" AR with stock that is not a NFA SBR. This isn't posted under news on the Franklin Armory website and only a few other websites are reporting it. Will be interesting to see what comes of this. https://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/franklin-armory-introduce-non-nfa-11-5-inch-ar-pattern-firearm/

  8. Picked this rifle up on the cheap the other day. While cleaning it up I got froggy and decided to refinish it. First refinish job. Didn't come out exactly like I wanted, but I'm happy with it. Looking forward to shooting it, just have to scrounge up some ammo.

  9. I'm running a geiselle SD3g, I bought it before they found that the mpx/mcx were particularly rough on them. If it breaks he likely won't warranty it, which I understand but there was NO way I was going back to stock after firing it with his trigger.

  11. I had good luck with Ford Lincoln of Franklin. My salesman was an older black gentleman named Clyde Maxwell. They were here easy to deal with and left feeling like a got a good deal.

  12. first get some competent help immediately..I am concerned that you are unsure whether it is loaded or not. Please treat it as loaded and don't point it at anything you don't want to put a hole in! Not sure but the base plate of the mag doesn't look like it is the right one. Again someone familiar with handguns to help you out.

  15. Although I have a thing for classic doubles, my favorite field gun is a 20 Gauge Browning Citori Featherweight.

  16. I have a set of Remington Model 11s in 12, 16, and 20ga I inherited from my Grandfather. It's the same gun as a Browning A-5. John Browning cleverly sold the license to build it to FN in Belgium (branded as 'Browning'), Remington, and Savage. I eventually bought my own in 12 and 20ga to avoid wearing out my grandfather's guns. They take a bit of education to set the friction rings properly for the load you are shooting. If someone complains about the recoil, they have the friction rings set wrong and will eventually damage the hand guard and even the receiver. Set properly, the guns will have a soft recoil and still operate reliably. So, It's obvious what my personal choice is. I've shot semi-autos so much that I always hesitate when I'm firing a pump gun until I remember that I have to operate the action!

  18. I just read that preliminary report completely. That is the most detailed, descriptive report that has ever been made public in a mass shooting (That I have seen). Good for the LVMPD. All weapons are documented, along with other materials at the scene. (Along with photos). How the shooter killed himself is documented. Only two questions remain unanswered, why, and how can this be prevented. My belief about “why” is that he was just evil. He was obviously depressed and suicidal. He wanted to die and wanted to take out a bunch of people when he went. Could this have been prevented? I don’t think this could have reasonably been prevented. All the arm chair quarterbacking and ‘what if” scenarios do not change the fact like it said it that report; he had not committed a crime until he fired the first shot. Had the hotel detected him taking all those guns up; they could have notified the cops, but he had committed no crime. This obviously evil person that wanted to kill a bunch of people had a pilot’s license. Think about that.

  20. This is the second time I have heard Jared Reston give an account of the incident that nearly took his life but within which he prevailed. This is also the most in-depth version of the account that I've heard him give. It is very much worth watching in its entirety. Yes, it is nearly 2 hours long. Watch it in chunks if you have to, but please, watch it. Very good stuff. It might save your life some day.

  21. All Glocks since the Gen 4 came out come with 3 mags. Unless the dealer or distributor swiped them or something. Glocks have the whole magazine/parts/holster commonality & availability thing going for them, so there’s that.

  22. Lol, that’s EXACTLY the kinda feedback I was looking for. The Virtus has what I’m looking for outside of trigger. Just curious, did you change yours? I saw that Geiselle actually came out with a dedicated MCX trigger as the AR triggers in some instances were not compatible Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  23. For me, the take away is that my G43 does not hold enough rounds. Either that or I need to practice head shots more.

  24. In my vehicles I generally have a stout FAK in the trunk/hatch, while my daily also has a smaller kit specific to a GSW attached with Velcro behind the driver's headrest. Behind Headrest by Erik, on Flickr YELLOW BOX! by Erik, on Flickr It's this kit from Chinook I purchased it a few years back with excess FSA funds I had to blow before year end. Exterior FAK Reflective Label by Erik, on Flickr Speaking on vehicle first aid kits, here are a few pointers I've come to follow over the years. Make sure it's CLEARLY labeled/identifiable (remember it may not be you grabbing it). Mount it/fix it/label it. Mine's the ONLY yellow box in my truck, and it's ALWAYS on the right side under the FAK label affixed to the rear door. If i'm involved offering aid to someone I can't take to my truck, I can tell any able bodied adult GO GRAB THE YELLOW FIRST AID KIT FROM THE BACK OF MY TRUCK! and know exactly what they will come back to me with with and what it contains. When I'm traveling longer distances, camping, or expecting to be driving in the backcountry where medical care will be more than an hour away I have an additional kit which is more comprehensive that I throw in which covers more comprehensive things which could ruin a trip. This will vary by your experience and training but to give an example in my case on a camping trip a few years back we had a few of the family dogs get into it, not terrible but one had a gash that needed attention. From my little blue bag I handed a veterinarian camping with us sutures, irrigation saline, and a pair of sterile gloves. He had the couple grab some iodine from the local wally world for good measure on the cleaning of the fur around it and stitched it up. Needless to say it saved anyone having to cut the trip short which is exactly the type thing I have it in there for. "the extras" by Erik, on Flickr

  25. Ranges are a complex issue, specially open ranges. You have safety and noise issues to consider along with armed people. I know, to you and I it's no issue, but to non-shooters it may be. Gun stores may have a few issues as well, and with all the recent burglaries it just adds another element. But to target them specifically is IMHO, against the 2A, specially to ban them outright. I can see having open zoning meetings to have the neighborhood oppose a permit, but to regulate them out of existence is a no-go.

  26. Don't know about 3-gun but.... I was told yesterday that Dan Cignarale will be their match director for IDPA. Dan is a master class shooter and has shot for some time now in Cleveland. He knows his stuff and is a great guy. If Dan is any indication as to the kind of folks they are putting in leadership spots at Dead Zero, it would be well worth your time to try them out. I plan to when I can and it's a 90 min drive for me.

  30. If that is what we are going off of then based off my stores sales the Taurus pt-111 and S&W SD9VE are both America's guns. I have yet to touch one but based off previous experience I just don't see myself liking it.
