  1. Funny as I read this I am sitting and waiting for the Driver's license center to open. I have to get an updated photo. At my age I'm just hoping to still be alive to renew 8 years from now!

  2. When it comes to children I disagree. If they want to be heard they should follow rules for it just like adults or be prepared for the consequences.

  4. I have a few revolvers to share with you. Some TC's. One without a scope is a 454 Casull. Just got bored and decided to snap some pictures with the iPhone.

  5. Thank you! I go out to Wyoming about every other summer and visit my buddy's ranch outside of Dubois. When we go into the local bars, people I haven't met yet ask where I'm from, and when I say "Chicago" they just about go into a catatonic state. Then I laugh and smile, and say something like "NO! Don't worry, I'm not one of THEM!" It breaks the ice real fast and we get to talking, and they see real fast that we're on the same page. So I have no worries.

  6. ... and he walked right up and hit me in the gut. It's true. There may even be photographic evidence. Nice to meet you, Randy. Your class seemed well received. I did have to give a little side eye to the one student I overheard telling you that your's was her favorite class of the conference as that student was also in mine.

  7. Everyone straighten up and behave Tiffany’s coming....... Just kidding . Tiffany was the hardest working woman in the tactical world last week and she deserves all the thanks in the world for making the Tac Con run smoothly. She’s my logistical hero.

  8. Like it or not, the right to gather and protest is in fact protected by our Constitution. You can’t support one without supporting the rest.

  9. Teachers aren’t going to do that, nor are their unions, school boards, local guvments, parents, and taxpayers going to allow it.

  17. I think history shows us that cases like this are as much about the response as they are the act. i would say it’s tricky. In acts of civil disobedience, it’s rarely the act itself that gets noticed. Rather, it’s the (often) disproportionate response that gets attention. Would we know about Selma to Montgomery March had it not been for the Edmund Pettis Bridge? Would the Birmingham Movement have led to the mass protests that finally ushered in the Voting Rights Act and the Civil Rights Act had they not arrested King resulting in a Letter from Birmingham Jail? What if the students at Fisk here in Nashville had just followed the rules and avoided the lunch counters that were closed to them? What if we had just let these students walk out in a pseudo-organized fashion and then moved on and gotten back to class? Would the issue still be in the news? It’s hard to say? But, a bunch of students locking arms in detention is only furthering the press coverage - especially when someone delivers a truck full of pizza.

  18. Absolutely it is, but it isn't guaranteed to be without repercussions. I can't walk out of my job to go protest without being reprimanded or fired. Walking out of school to protest should come with punishment as well. To every thing there is a season. Protest on the weekends or at night.

  19. We’re all entitled to our opinions, but in this case the Constitution disagrees with you. The Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment extends civil rights to minors. The Supreme Court upheld this view in a landmark 1967 case In re Gault. A few years later(1969), the court ruled in Tinker v. Des Moines Independent School District supporting the same. This case may be of particular interest regarding current events. Link here if you’re so inclined: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tinker_v._Des_Moines_Independent_Community_School_District

  20. This is the fastest car I own. 1962 340hp 4sp 53k original miles. I think they turned a high 14 sec 1/4 mile back in the day. Going to install disc brakes and a Holley Sniper fuel injection so I can get some enjoyment out of it.

  21. Welcome to out little corner of the interwebs Ms. Johnson! Great to have you here. We are in need of that evidence please. It looks like Tac Con had an outstanding group presenting this year. But that's no surprise. Again, welcome. Jamie

  22. My only concern about this event showing up on the media is so that folks can see what happens when the bad guys lose. And so they can see what goes on when the parties that are charged with making them lose aren't cowering and fouling themselves. Any bets that Peterson is trying for a confidential name change? SWC

  27. Why do you wish to torment ordinary men in such a way? VERY NICE! Triple GGG is right - the relaxation that ONLY wheelguns can bring. Now just pm me if you need my address for the adoption papers and the will.

  28. I’m not gonna lie..... I’m absolutely guilty as charged.... in fact I muzzle punched him with my Glock ....it just happened to be a non firing 17R to see if I could knock it out of battery as a demo showing why you don’t want to thrust the gun into your opponent when in a clinch. In all seriousness though, Lee was a HUGE help by risking life and limb as a safety officer working the line during my block of instruction on Sunday morning at the Rangemaster Tactical Conference at DARC (Direct Action Resource Center) in Little Rock Arkansas. I taught a block on close quarters shooting called Point Blank Pistol Skills that involved a lot of fast close shooting much of which was done while in physical contact with the plastic TAC MAN targets we used. I can’t thank him enough for volunteering to come over and help make sure we had plenty of experienced safety officers watching the line. And in his own right Lee is a talented multi time instructor at Tac Con doing blocks this year in Social Levergun and a block called Defensive Pistol Skills Builder . So if you get a chance to catch a class with him take it ! Thanks again Lee, hopefully we’ll get a chance to work together again some time !

  34. Well, I'm personally split three ways. The Glock 26 Gen 3 is a fine CCW. But up there with it, in my opinion, are the Taurus PT-111 G2 and the S&W M&P Shield (with Apex upgrade). However, I personally own a S&W SD9VE with upgraded sights, springs, trigger, takedown, 20 lb. SS Guide Rod, metal slide backplate, grip wrap, and mirror polished internal metal. It performs excellently and I would trust my life on it. Total investment: $400 and six hours of my time. At the range this weekend I shot a 1.5" grouping at 15', a 2" grouping at 25', and a 3" grouping at 50'. Oh, this is the first time I've been shooting in 12 years.
