  1. You got me there, but I won't need to renew it.

  2. Mine doesn't have an expiration date. I figure I paid for convenience more than the permit.

  3. The thing is, though, the Constitution protects us from the government infringing on our rights to free speech, to bear arms, etc. The laws of private property supersede them in certain cases, and web sites are private property. Just as a person has a right to forbid you from carrying a gun onto their private property, a web site has the right to forbid a person from using the full array of words in the language.

  4. I went ahead and got a lifetime renewal at age 65. I was afraid they might not let me leave the nursing home to go renew it eight years from now.

  5. It's not bad to shoot. You won't want to put 300 rds through it in one session, but it's not bad. The 8 rd mag helps a bit. I mostly pocket carry it but also have a belt holster made by @gjohnsoniv

  6. I understand that. I went through law school nearly 40 years ago. That was why I used the word "spirit." My wife has a friend who literally has a "no guns allowed" sign on the front door of her house. I know that's totally allowed, but it sure doesn't seem smart!

  7. Went out to the Outpost Armory and picked up an M P 2.0 9 C this morning. It cost 369.00 with a 50.00 rebate from S W. Rebate is on the way. Good price guys.

  8. I don't remember that being a responsible adult time in my life. Must have been a long time ago. My daughter says I never had a time of being one. My son said he remembers it well. Said it lasted almost a week. They still argue over when it was and they try and drag me into it and I keep telling them they are acting like children.....

  9. Man it was a great week to check cameras! Check it out and hope y'all are getting some good pictures as well. A little over a month and I'll be up in a lock on hoping a velvet monster strolls through. I hung another Millennium m100u this morning and have a Hawk Helium XL stand on the way for the backside of the property.

  13. The LCP isn't bad to shoot, but they aren't pleasant either. I personally like them though, carry one on me pretty much all the time. As mentioned above they are surprisingly accurate little guns.

  14. I have one of this too... it makes a huge difference. A must have. The Galloway recoil spring and guide rod are on the list.

  15. I turn 45 next week, and it damn sure doesn't feel young.

  17. I just got mine renewed back in May but old one didn't expire till August but it was my first renewal and knowing how things work, if I waited till last minute I would either forget to do it or they would screw it up so I will give them 2 months. My SIL got his lifetime and asked if I was going to get one and I said Nope!! He said Why not and I said because I don't have a lifetime left!!!!!

  18. Also, note that there are different recoil springs for the LCP and the LCP2. Not sure which model you have, but Galloway makes springs for both.

  19. The lcp is the perfect pocket pistol. I shoot mine more than any other gun I own, because I want to be proficient with it. You'll be surprised how accurate the little thing can be with practice.

  20. The other items are both from Galloway. The 13 lb recoil spring really helps with the muzzle flip and perceived recoil, and while you're at it you might as well put in a stainless steel guide rod. Here's the link: https://gallowayprecision.com/ruger/lcp/ These plus the Hogue grip sleeve will greatly enhance your LCP shooting experience!

  21. Here's a link to the grip sleeve. Note over 700 reviews, 5 full stars average. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ULQTL12/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  22. I have shot my LCP in a BUG match, 50 rounds. Not that big a deal. Shoot it ocassionaly, but I bought it to carry, not to run a bunch of rounds through. There are guns made for carrying, guns made for shooting. Personally I wouldn't waste any money trying to make a silk purse out of a cow's ear. The nemesis holster or sticky holster are good for pocket carry.

  23. Seems like the older folks do the early voting and they do it early in the A.M., I know I did!

  24. I haven't been able to check out the compact version, but my dad picked up a brand new Shield 2.0 sub compact with Crimson Trace laser at Smoky Mountain Guns & Ammo (Smoky Mtn. Knife Works) yesterday for $299. We called this evening & they said they have 174 left in stock at that price so a friend & I are heading over to Sevierville in the morning so he can buy one. After feeling the grip & trigger of the one my dad got, I may be bringing one home too.

  25. I will answer this with specifics at some point over the weekend. There are Hogue grips that make the LCP immensely better to shoot, and you can put in a better recoil spring that will make the gun feel vastly better. You can make this snappy pain-in-the-ass thing that you don't want to shoot into something that is actually ok to shoot. That is as good as it will get. Shooting the LCP will never be fun, but at least it can be made to tolerable.

  26. Actually lusting after one myself. There are a few S&W's in the safe.

  27. That's pretty damned funny! Years ago I ran a forum for performance car enthusiasts here in Nashville. Halloween and New Years Eve parties with the moderating team meant "drunken bannings" which were exactly what they sounded like. Folks got their avatars changed to some really questionable things, temporarily, during the process. It was all in good fun and the members absolutely loved it. Of course, that was back before my kids and before I was trying to be a responsible adult.

  28. yea, I was kind of surprised that I have a lady do most of the paper work to get me set up but still needed to complete a few things so went back the next day and the lady was off that day. I went over and sat down waiting for another person to get free and another lady came up to me and said Hi Mr. Richards. Is there something I can assist you with. I was caught a tad off guard that this lady called me by my name. I ask if Edie was working and she told me she was off and the new lady took care of the issues I had that day in about 20 minutes and at that point I was totally WB&T customer. I got an email from BOA today telling me that if I had anything outstanding and it was presented to the bank for payment they would re-open my account, return what ever was presented as insufficient Funds and charge me a $29.00 transaction fee. I laughed at it and thought yea I guess because I was stupid enough to do business with you for 18+ years I would be stupid enough to close an account with outstanding items not cleared at the time I closed it. Sorry BOA , but I am not that stupid............

  29. You can use the receipt they gave you when you renewed in person, some form online as well. It will suffice until the new permit arrives.

  30. I have bunch of autos and a bunch of spring assisted. I always wind up carrying one of my manual frame locks. To each his own. I just never find myself wishing for a spring, and have no complaints with slow deployment. Doesn't mean I wouldn't like to own the Gerber too.

  31. Got my 380 EZ w/o thumb safety at Academy for 329.99 plus tax and background. Great ergonomics, easy to rack the slide, easy to load the magazines and functioned flawlessly with American Eagle. At this point accuracy won't get you to the finish line at Camp Perry. That is with a 35 yr old and 63 yr old shooting this thing and both of us can shoot a handgun reasonably well. But it functions so well, carries so easy and at 7 yrds as long as it is in the pie plate as fast as you can pull the trigger who cares? However, I am going to keep shooting this with various ammo and after 500 or so rds give an accuracy assessment. But at save your ass distance it will work. I am "amped" up to get my wife on this with her basal thumb arthritis. This will likely be my go to bedside handgun as age strips away strength and ability. Much easier to shoot than even a steel J-frame with .38 wadcutters. I wish they made this in .32ACP.
