  2. Neither. It’s a shame these are the options.

  4. big thumbs up for Malkoff conversions. i have plenty of new flashlights that I like but you can't beat D cells for storage and longevity. We keep 3 or 4 cell versions in each vehicle. They all have glass break tail caps on them. Nice solid tubes of hefty aluminum are useful for all kinds of things.

  5. Nope and I don’t need too. All I need to know is that it’s on the opposite side of the state from me.

  6. Carter. Back before Dems and GOP became polar opposites of dementia. Good man, meh result of course, though I was willing to give him the extended chance. Then Reagan for his second term, and George the First the only Bush worth his salt cept for Babs. Then it became a 24 year sucking sound leading to the ultimate cesspool of the present. - OS

  7. I voted for Garfield. The cat. Not the ex president. In the last 40 years he has had my vote. Either him or Woodstock. I alternate.

  8. Of course, that it is probably the same idiots making the Kardashian thing a billionaire does kind of make it more believable.

  10. I just got off the phone with Ronnie (my son) down in Kingston Springs in Cheatham County. He just got off the phone with the Sheriff down there. The Sheriff told Ronnie that they have recovered 4 of the guns that were stolen from our home back in 1988 when they burglarized our home while we were at the hospital with my oldest son that was in a coma from and auto accident. They recovered all long guns. The most important one was recovered which is my dead sons Winchester model 1200 12 gauge. They also recovered my younger sons 20 gauge Winchester 1200 , my Mossberg 4.10 Pump and a Marlin 30/30. They said the investgation is on going and they hope to learn where more of them are. There is only 4 more long guns out there and all the rest are hand guns. The only gun out of all was my dead sons Winchester Pump that I really wanted back. I had bought it and my other sons 20 gauge for Christmas 3 years prior to my sons accident. I bought all 3 of those shotguns at Speciality Arms in LaVergne a couple years after they opened up for business and they were running a special on Winchesters. I wanted a pump 4.10 for a couple years so bought the Mossberg and because I was buying the other two guns they gave me a package deal on 3 guns. I remember having to take the 4.10 back because it would shoot around corners. When I told the guy it would shoot around corners he laughed but took the gun in the back to their range and test fired it 3 times. He came back out with a new Mossberg in a box and handed me 5 boxes of 4.10 ammo. He said you are correct sir. It does shoot around corners. He said the barrel was evidently bent from the factory. Very nice folks to do business back then. They have grown a lot since I bought the shotguns. I really wanted it back most of all. They said they will be returned after the case is closed but at least I now know it will be coming home eventually where it belongs. All they could tell Ronnie right now is they were discovered in a home in Cumberland Furnace during a drug bust raid on a house there and the occupants were arrested for dealing drugs out of the house. My son ask if he could give him the names of the drug dealers but he said he could not because it is an ongoing investigation. Ronnie was trying to see if it was someone he knew. Will keep ya'll updated as I learn more.

  11. Celebration may be a little premature but still good news. My son Ronnie went over to the sheriffs office today to talk with the sheriff about the guns. The serial numbers match what I reported back in 1988 so thats the good news. Not so good news is the drug raid was a DEA raid which means the Feds have the guns and not the Sheriffs office. The Sheriff was the one that reported that the guns were reported stolen back in 1988 by a Cheatham County resident and requested that they be place in his care but because it was a Federal case the Feds have the guns and it could be upwards of a year before we get them back which will be after the trial. I have no clue how long this can be dragged out but I am still optimistic they will be home soon. At least we know they have them.

  13. I've shipped a few firearms to Gunsmiths I've always used UPS and have never encountered a person who would refuse to ship them, you have to use a UPS hub that does that not one of their drop off places. As far as using the US POST OFFICE all I can say is I've only shipped my slides that way, I was told the only way you can ship a Fire Arm through the POST OFFICE you had to have an FFL. License. The guns that I shipped to Gunsmiths to have work done on them have always been shipped directly back to me at my home address, you just need to be there or have someone sign for it. The Florida FFL. should give you the info. you need as to how they accept Firearm Shipment's from Individuals.

  14. In the end it is all personal choice. I have bought things I regret. Guns, cars, computers, etc. I can't say alot because within the first few handguns I bought was an Iver Johnson top break .38 S&W. And it was broken to boot. Lol. Repaired it is fun to shoot, but is far from a carry gun or even a 100% reliable gun. @RatchetyClank just be aware. Despite as you might, claiming you can't afford a second gun, will not keep you from buying one once you have your first. Lol

  15. I've known several people who have moved here from up North. They legitimately could not understand some people with a thick southern accent. I'd recommend watching Deliverance a few times to brush up on your country.

  17. Well, it was not my idea to go to Dollywood but my wife wanted to go and I had a surprise planned for her and I was kind of making it her weekend to pick the places we went and I just agreed so we went. The plan I had was a dream come true for her and after doing Dollywood on Friday we just walked through Gatlinburg looking at the stores and shops. A buddy of mine that owned Charlet in Gatlinburg had given me the keys to it for the entire weekend. On Satuday morning she woke up to breakfast in bed and under her napkin was two tickets to the opening game of Tennessee season that year. I was standing just out side the bedroom door when she found them and I would guess about everyone on that mountain top heard her screams when she found the tickets. She was a rabid Tennesse fan and our house looked like a concession stand at a Tennessee game. At Dollywood she was decked out in orange and white tennessee clothes. The guy that owned the Charlet had season tickets every year in box seating as he is an alumni of Tennessee University and he let me use his tickets. I'm sure glad I took her cause it was probably the best thing I could have done to fill her dreams cause I lost her in October 97.
