  1. I admit I was a little proud when my son asked me to ride with him this morning so I could ride back the new toy he purchased. He'd never ridden a bike before. Mama ain't happy. His girlfriend ain't happy, but I'm tickled we share a common interest. It's an 04 Suzuki GS500F. Very low miles, and runs and rides great. A perfect starter bike in my opinion. Now if I can talk mama into us getting a bike, I know where there's a sweet HD Night Train!

  2. Without hesitation. RIA’s are excellent 1911’s. Don’t let the low price fool you. They only thing they lack that more expensive pistols have is a fancy finish.

  4. If I recall correctly, the GB and the Glock 17 came out at the same time. Glock had much better marketing than Steyr and won the Austrian Military contract. Then it just became another Wonder9. And at that time, he market was flooded with Wonder9s!

  6. I figured it was time for me to embrace the future and put a red dot sight on a Glock. I chose my Gen 4 Glock 19 for this and ordered a stripped slide from Suarez International done in their black Melonite treatment with plain black, suppressor-height, front and rear sights. I filled it with a set of stock Gen 4 Glock internals from Big Tex Outdoors, tossed in a Silencerco barrel that I've been sitting on for a while, and topped it off with a Trijicon RM07 6.5MOA red dot sight. It's riding on my Gen 4's frame with an Agency Arms minimalist magwell, a Streamlight TLR-7 light, a Crux Ordnance extended mag release, and a bit of thumb-index stippling done by yours truly with an ice-pick heated up with a BIC lighter. Just kidding. I used a woodburning tool, but I totally could have done that with a hot ice-pick. I may put a different trigger in it. I'm not sure. I am one of those weirdos who likes the OEM Glock Gen 4 trigger, but the trigger on my Gen 5 is just so damn nice that it has me thinking about an Agency or Apex trigger on this. We'll see.

  8. Nothing like getting a text from Mike at Law Enforcement Sales saying all 3 of your transfers are in. Finally got to bring these home today. Now to find some range time.

  9. Any other Steyr GB fans out there? They stopped making these fine pistols in 1988. These two are--by far--my favorite 9mm handguns.

  10. In my personal opinion, a much better pistol than the later models of the Steyr.

  13. We're very near D.T. Franklin and have a small creek in the back. I have observed mink, fox, coyote, hawks, heron, turkey, deer, possum, armadillos, hummingbirds and yes... bats. Last 2-3 seasons we've enjoyed a pair of returning bluebirds.I don't know why, but I really look forward to seeing them.

  14. I’ve had about 5 red tail hawks hanging out in my back yard for the past couple of weeks. Subsequently, the chipmunk population of my ecosystem appears to have been decimated. Speaking of bats, every year I swear I’m gonna put up a bat house to help control the mosquitoes of which there is no shortage around here. One of these days I might actually do it.

  18. I am I fan. I would really like one. I think they might have been more popular if Rogak hadn't ruined market opinion of them. They were ahead of their time.

  19. I agree, but you forgot one of the best, the P51 Mustang. We would of lost way more bombers and crew had it not been for them.

  20. The K31 runs much better for me on the range at 50 and 100 yards than the K11. They're both great rifles. I just handle the K31 better.

  21. I love the moon clips for my Smith 625. I can "toss" six rounds into the cylinder at once, and keep on firing. It's the fastest way, IMO, to do reloads. Also easy to find and pick up your brass, all nice and tidy in a little cluster of a clip. And .45 acp in a revo makes a fine target/competition/plinker gun with a lot milder recoil than my .44 mag for sure.

  22. Thank you! He is feeling close to normal this evening I think. He is definitely very much improved over the last 24 hours. Matter of fact he just brought his tennis ball (the small one) over here and laid at my feet while I’m typing this

  24. Well, the R.A.C.K meeting was fine but I didn't really learn that much from it. Last night I went to the S.M.A.R.C meeting in Alcoa and it was much better. They seemed to be far more outgoing than the former and more willing to share info.

  30. Like the Emerson wave feature. You leave the vehicle and it racks the gun. In the case of the French, you don't wanna be surrendering your gun with an empty chamber. Makes you look like a sissy.

  31. You need to e very careful about what doctors tell you. I have been told not less than 7 times I would be dead in 24 hours or less and I am still here. BOA just sent me a NO LIMIT card Application in the mail the other day and I cut it up in small pieces, Placed it is the envelope they supplied with postage paid and sent it back to them. I have began reseaching other banks in my area in which to move my accounts.
