  1. We were on our way back from a short loop vacation and realized we would be passing close to Bud's in Sevierville about an hour before Hickok45 was having his meet & greet on Saturday so I diverted to see the big guy. Of course since I had an hour to kill..... Yes I had to buy something, I have had an LCP380 Ruger since they first came out and the LCP380 II has been calling to me and Bud's price was pretty good so.... I warned my wife, who said she would stay in the camper and read, that I might buy something. The trooper she is all she said when I came back to the camper was, did I find what I wanted and was the meet & greet good. Yes to both. Hickok45 was fun to see in person. Another highlight from our loop trip I finally had genuine Nashville Hot Chicken at Prince's. Was glad I listen to the counter person. I ordered hot and she asked if I had it before and I said no, she gave me some examples of how hot, hot was, and I ordered medium. Just right, it was great, wish I could get it in NE TN. For those that haven't been, there is 2 levels below medium and 3 above. Hot, Hot X and Hot XX are above medium. I can't imagine what Hot XX must do to your mouth and whole digestive system.

  2. I used our 3D printer to print one. I will see if it fits one of my AR's. If it does I will be happy to ship it to you @The Legion if you can use it.

  3. They were naive and gullible, but no one deserves to be murdered because of that. If they'd encountered a few more challenges during their lives, and perhaps encountered some less savory people prior to their bike trip, they would probably have known better. Their sheltered lives and lack of real world experience led them to make an extremely poor choice that cost them their lives. That's not the same as deserving to be murdered by homicidal maniacs.

  4. Even though I look it, I am not as old as some of you old farts. I was only 12 in 1979. Late 70's to early 80's I was listening to Eagles, Boston, Chicago and Meatloaf. Bat out of Hell is probably the record I have bought in the most formats. I had it in vinyl, cassette(wore out 2), cd and downloaded it.

  6. As we, my wife and I, were leaving church last night, a lady friend of ours said she had something to show me. She had one of those cell phones that makes pictures, and she showed me a photo of her son (from a previous marriage) holding a flintlock rifle. The man in the picture was wearing the uniform of a Tennessee State Parks employee, and was holding the rifle while he wore those white cotton gloves. The rifle, she told me, was Davy Crockett's "Old Betsy." Her son is curator/coordinator for East Tennessee State Museums. Apparently the rifle was scheduled for some special event display and he got to handle it long enough to have his photo made with the rifle. Apparently at my church I'm known as a gun buff. 7. Funny story about Fleetwood Mac. I was familiar with the band when they did Bare Trees and Mystery To Me albums. So I had a buddy at James Madison in Harrisonburg and in late 76 he called and said he had tickets for their show at James Madison. So I'm anticipating the blues band I was familiar with and they came out and did the Rumours album. This was just before they became the 70's radio gods that made them famous. Awesome show.

  8. Although I don't know the first three references, I am completely envious of the other groups you have seen. A great litany of music there! I did get to see Ray and Dennis from Dr. Hook once at a small club we attended at times. They were recognized in the audience and played with the house band for a bit. I was mezmerized. They were perhaps a bit under the influence of a plant substance at the time. lol

  11. Exactly. There’s a world of difference between engaging in an action with a very predictable outcome and actually deserving that outcome. It’s the same concept as saying a rape victim was “asking for it” due to manner of dress or location.

  12. It fits. It is very snug but it does fit. A little sandpaper on the inside edges of it will probably help.

  15. I just heard the The Eagles Greatest Hits 71-75 is now the greatest selling album of all time, surpassing MJ’s Thriller. Perhaps the world is correcting. Edit: it regained the top spot lost to Thriller 10 years ago.

  17. After a 500 round function test last week, I put into carry service, both work and personal. For work, it was back pocket carry, grip towards spine, under a sport coat. The depth of my pockets coupled with overall length the grip exposed to get a full, consistent grip. With no cover garment, too exposed and not secure in close quarters. It's possible to front pocket carry, I tried in a pair of 5.11 Tacticals. You'd have to be a pretty big guy to pull it off. It's only slightly shorter in height and length than a traditional compact (G19/P01/etc.) but is slimmer as a single stack and the backstrap shape appears almost minimalistic layed over a Glock or CZ grip. I now understand the appeal of a bobtail 1911. With a good belt, the weight is a non issue, especially if you consider my past EDC choices. Speaking of belts, 2018 represents 10 years of using a proper gun belt. Best thing I even learned on this forum for EDC, get a good belt. I used a 5.11 Tactical - leather casual. It is still serviceable, though horribly scuffed from holster clips. It is also beginning to bubble when when buckled around the waist. Stiffener is still stiff, belt shows no signs of sagging where gun and holster primary attached. For my 50th, my BGB (best gun buddy) got me a NexBelt. Pretty cool, really like the micro adjustment, seems gimmicky, but it's not. If curious, be sure to get a gun rated buckle for the gun belt, it has 2 set screws for additional security. Using it right now with the PK in a High Noon Upper Cut. This is a non moulded holster I brought for my SDP. Aside from about 1/2" of excess leather at the muzzle, the pistol is safe and secure. After my recent class with Randy Harris, I discovered the challenge of a consistent, full grip using my beloved N82 Tactical (10 year history as well) You see, it's the sweat shield, even modified by Gjohnsoniv, it trips me up. The Upper Cut allows me the draw grip I want to achieve. The pistol length also prevents it from rolling forward using my belt / belt line as the rotation point. Repurposing the holster also gives my thrifty heart joy. So why this gun over an equivalent sized none or .45? Love my deal and gives me a second, good quality .380 It's very shootable, filling the niche of fun range gun I believe with my reload practice, I can keep it running if we exceed 3-3-3 Being practically tactical, I probably don't need 15+ rounds on board plus 18 or 36 more...the Jared Weston video still gives credence to more bullets is better, but unless necessary, I'm probably not running towards gun fire. During non coat and jacket months, I'm confident carrying modern .380, Precision One specifically and will be purchasing some Sig Vcrown for function testing.

  25. They were good, there's no denying that, but The Rolling Stones is always mentioned in a discussion of the best band ever. I think they are the most overrated band ever.

  27. I switched all my CCW to kydex holsters w 15 degree cants, they are all over ebay for 25-30 bucks and for me they are not only a bargain they are thin and easy to carry and the most comfortable before that I was buying over priced leather stuff, with fancy loops and double hooks and they were all tortuous to carry .

  38. Yep. Medium is plenty hot. Years ago, some friends got an order of their hot as a joke. I couldn't eat it. Wound up in my girlfriends trash can and her pit bull got ahold of it. You won't believe how far a pit bull can poop on Prince's hot chicken.
