  2. So I’ve been wanting one for no good reason since they came out. Now that they are becoming increasingly available, the prices are at a tolerable level, and early reliability issues seem to have been addressed, I have one. Academy carries them and they were kind enough to send me a 10% off coupon in the mail a couple of weeks ago with actually very few restrictions. It was good for firearms. That made it a very attractive purchase and I could no longer resist. Finally got out to break it in today and I simply love it. Very accurate and 100% reliable. Put about 300 rounds total through it with half of that being Winchester NATO. Oh Shoot even fed it a bunch of that Winchester Forged crap and it ate it like a fat kid does candy. Put a Sig Romeo5 on it about halfway through the fun and it’s a great combo. Just put the dot on what you want to shoot and it’s going to get hit whether you’re using 115 or 124 gr bullets. Very pleased with it. It’s really a lot of fun and would make a dandy defense carbine as well. BTW, Champion BioBird clays are junk. They do not shatter to satisfaction and actually melt in the hot sun, lol.

  3. Hi, Folks! It's @Tiffany Johnson here from Citizens Safety Academy. I'm excited to announce that the CSA crew and I be teaching an NRA Women on Target instructional shooting clinic next month in Murfreesboro. Sorry guys, this time enrollment is reserved for ladies only. But please tell your mom, gramdma, sister, daughter, girlfriend/wife, and any female who might be interested in learning a little more about handgun safety and operation. No pressure, no macho stuff, just a little fun with the girls. Class: NRA Women on Target Date: Saturday, October 13, 2018 Time: 8am to 1pm Location: Citizens Safety Academy, 752 E. Northfield Boulevard, Murfreesboro, TN 37130 (with live-fire done at the OK Corral) Cost: A modest, measly, mere $40 - and that includes a bag of souvenirs! 4. I haven't posted anything in a while as I've been busy remodeling 2 houses so I thought I would post a couple pics of a new design I have been working on. This one is for a Springfield XD Mod2 9mm sub compact cross draw. I decided to do my heavy distressing on this one.

  5. When I married, I made a lifetime vow, and I intend to keep it. A couple of weeks ago, I would have brought home a new Indian motorcycle, but she had a fit. I had no idea previously she felt the s way about bikes, but whatever. I'm certain she's given up a lot t for me. I She isn't opposed to a boat, but isn't excited about one either. I decided against that. Tomorrow I intend to go to an auction where ther is a cherry 68 Mistang. She likes it. I sort of do, but it's a 6cyl car. If it goes cheap enough, I can put a 302 in it. Marriage is give and take. I can say I wouldn't have a small percentage of what I have today were it now t for her. Damn that Indian was a sharp bike though!!!

  6. If they come from Outer Space according to many historians, Earth was visited by aliens long before man was here so why would they be illegal if they were here first??

  7. With them shutting down the post office as well, it sounds like something may have come through the mail, through that post office, then to the observatory. Something that might have been slightly unhealthy, you know, like some of the current crop of medications that are prescribed all the time. That, or some scientist spotted Rosie Odonnell about to go for a swim so they had to shut the place down until the crew's therapy sessions were completed. Or someone finally spotted Elvis' safe house. But I'm just theorizing

  8. Hey Everybody - We're rolling out a new co-ed class from Citizens Safety Academy called After the Permit (ATP). It's two levels, and we've got level 1 scheduled for early October in Murfreesboro. ATP-1 is a four-hour course that continues where the TN Handgun Permit class ends. This course was designed by @aqil Qadir as a stepping stone between the basic TN permit class for more advanced classes like NRA Defensive Pistol or other full-day or two-day classes with higher round-counts and holster work. Hope some of you will come out. Company: Citizens Safety Academy Instructors: @aqil Qadir and @Tiffany Johnson (and the CSA crew) When: Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018, 9am to 1pm Where: CSA HQ, 752 East Northfield Boulevard, Murfreesboro, TN 37130 (live-fire at the OK Corral in Woodbury) Cost: $55.00 More Info & Registration: https://citizenssafety.com/event/atp1-oct-2018/ (or you can register on Eventbrite) Contact Email: Aqil@CitizensSafety.com Let us know if you're interested. Thanks! - Aqil and Tiffany

  9. That lil carbine is Da Bomb. I love it. Certainly would never have bought a Hi-Point carbine if this had been an option back when. Or maybe not my Kel-Tec Sub2000 either (although it's so unique I might have). So dunno, I'll either have to get one or coerce Garufa to come along every time I wanna pop some caps. Seriously, the thing seems to be just right on dead accurate. And looks like will eat anything. I'll bet scoped once you compensate for exact drop it would be duck soup to pop pert small targets at 100 yards and more too. Even with just the irons or the 1x red dot I could hit clays about half the time at about 75. - OS

  11. We’re trying and I’d kinda like to get some more locals together. We used to have some great shootenanny’s but those are a little more involved...that takes land, but back in the day we did take over some ranges a couple of times.

  12. Something to consider. The Ruger is very well made and the take down capability is nice. The fact it takes Glock mags is a huge plus. Don’t know when I’ll get a chance to get to the range again but you’d be welcome to come try it out.

  13. I didn’t say that I like it heck, I’d love to trade up to a twin engine boat that I could make the run to the tortugas in. But, I’d also like to stay married.

  16. So your saying Rosie Odonnell has infiltrated White Sands and found Elvis' safe house and was spying on it? Seriously though, this is a great curiosity. "Curious-er and curious-er" as someone once said. I wonder if we'll ever hear anything remotely resembling the truth about this.

  17. I'll do counterpoints to the above. If you wait and pay attention you can get ceramic plates, multi curve, and level iv from places like Highcom or similar for close to the same price as steel. Whatever you do don't buy a cheap carrier though, it will suck. Grey Ghost Gear makes a decent minimalist carrier but you will want to add padded shoulder covers. Spiritus Systems new carrier is supposedly nice but I haven't handled one of those. My personal carrier is a First Spear Strandhogg but those don't come cheap, though it is the most comfortable one I've worn. Outside of those there are plenty of good companies like TAG, Crye, BFG, and others that make fairly priced, not China made gear, like what AR500 sells.

  18. No. I guess I'll just stick with this one for the time being. I don't get to go much, and it does everything I need a boat to do.

  21. I've only had to go to the one in Harriman so far, so maybe that's why, but OMG you folks have NO idea! Coming from NY, the DMV down here is a downright PLEASURE to do business with! The people speak ENGLISH! There's no urine on the floor! Processes are simple, fee's reasonable, paperwork is NOT written in 22 other languages, you don't feel like an international traveller in the waiting area, and you'll be spoken to politely and with respect! Never once had that experience in NY, you've really got it great down here, trust me! - K

  26. LOL! One didn't get cooked. My wife was complaining this evening about something stinking in the basement. After a bit of investigating, I found one of them tucked safely in the corner of the livewell in the boat. WOW!
