  1. I don't remember how I ended up with a 1915 favorite that some one had cut the top tang off and the bottom one was cut in 2 places then brazed one break and bugger ark welded the other into something it never remotely ever looked like. So I figured Id play with an idea and see if it would work out and bingo, After finding a local that can blue steel, I got it done. The barrel is cut from a Ruger 10/22 with a mini14 cut sight soldered on top and threaded in to the receiver. The rest is fab-ed up from scrap. This was my second color case hardening try at it with my home made out fit. The flyers are sight ins with CCI std vel at 32' from a wood block rest. This was like a mountain climbing expedition. Once its done, it needs to become a memory before some federally gets his shorts up in a knot. Ruger barrel mounting groove welded up to get a Luger style barrel formed out of it.

  2. I'm slowly growing my YouTube channel. I don't expect to be famous but would like to gain some subscribers for some motivation. I don't have any gun videos yet. I have just a little bit of everything. I hope to do some abandoned buildings this fall. Im trying to get to 1,000 subscribers. When I do I'll give away a large prize like a $500 gift certificate. Thanks for checking it out. https://www.youtube.com/user/jbrannon509

  3. Published NRR as prescribed by OSHA(though some manufacturer's use one OSHA standard and others use another for advertising) is actually a horrible standard to judge an electronic ear muff intended specifically for gunfire protection, a sound which typically occurs in the 1k-4k range almost exclusively. Happy to expand on it if you like but I will say comparing hearing protection for the avid shooter would make likely make a dull but very informative podcast. I recommend the peltors due to their lower cost and VERY similar real world attenuation at the range. A white-paper on some of OSHA's different methods of rating hearing protection in work environments.

  4. I doubt it has a serial number. I'd call it a home made handgun and roll with it. Stevens also made pistols. I don't know how one would go about proving what it once was. Don't destroy it. It looks great. I'd interested in hearing more about you color case hardening setup if you would indulge us sometime. I'd bet I'm not alone in that.

  5. Thanks to Mike .357 I was able to get these medallions mounted on the grips he gave me. Sorry for the photos but picture taking is not on my skill list.

  6. I don’t have that specific model - but I’ve got both ear buds and muffs. From the foam tips on the Axil models, I feel comfortable making the comparison. The buds are great for pistol and hunting needs. If I’m going to be firing any type of over pressure rifle round for more than a single round, I feel like I need muffs - maybe over plugs.

  7. In most municipalities younhave the telephone company and a single cable company that have been granted right of way access to lay lines to the residences. Even if someone wanted to go through the expense to lay lines, most often they can’t. Look at what the state did to prevent other cities from having their utilities do what EPB did in Chattanooga. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Last_mile https://www.forbes.com/sites/forbestechcouncil/2018/05/10/content-may-be-king-but-not-without-access-via-the-last-mile/

  8. With the right handling of the subject, it might not be THAT dull. But still likely pretty dull. Might not be a bad idea to make that a shorter one. I do think that it might be worth doing though.

  9. I am with Greg on this, keep it, and tell us about the case hardening.

  10. THAT... is pretty cool. a 1911 on a 1911, who would have thought that one up? A tribute to a by gone era of Tech conquering the north American continent. I really like that one of a kind stuff like that.

  11. I have zero experience with those. Mark has them, but not me. Sorry.

  12. You might want to just call them instead of waiting for someone to come out. If you are supposed to be at 1024 and you are at 3; you probably have equipment or account issues. They can check and reset all that remotely now. Is that 3 on wired Ethernet?

  13. The place I will be moving to is kinda a black hole to a point but was worse 2 years ago and 1 tree later. There was no internet service there until AT&T put up that 1 more tower where ever they put it because now there is AT&T cell phone service, AT&T Broadband Internet service and Direct TV but that did require cutting down one big tree but it was already half dead anyway from Lightening.

  15. That’s why Comcast can charge what they do; not much competition in most areas do to local governments. Are you paying for Gig internet? Call them and they will probably get you the speed you are paying for. If they can’t they will reduce your bill. I pay for 250 Mbps, I get around 295. That’s freakin fast. But then I was okay with 120 when I was getting that.

  16. Yep. Government enforced last mile monopolies are the real problem here. The government is not your friend on this issue.

  17. Welcome to legacy of the government selling its soul ( actually our souls) to the telephone utilities. Rules were put in place in exchange for the companies building service out into less populated (read less profitable) areas way back when. So the government is involved...just on the side of the utilities. Everytime repealing these laws comes up, millions of dollars get poured into lobbying to keep them. Of course on the other hand, it could be worse for you. My parent's live in a dead zone that no utility provides internet to. And they are less than 30 minutes out of Knoxville.

  18. I recently bought pair of Peltor Tactical 500 earmuffs and added some Peltor Camelback Gel rings for them and absolutely love the setup. They are more comfortable and block more noise than my $300 Pro Ears earmuffs do. The gel rings weren't mandatory additions but they made the muffs mold around my eyeglass ear stems a little better and reduced pressure on my temples as a result. There really is no comparison between the 500's with those gel rings and the more expensive muffs. The Peltors win, hands down, in every way for me. *Full disclosure, those two links are "affiliate links" that help TGO if you buy using them.
