  3. Maybe I won't have to see any more steep hills-n-hollers til deer season! I'm thankful for the Lord's grace in this. As far as I know we had no serious injuries out of the scores of people who were there. (Except for me feeling old)

  4. What @rugerla1 said. I have also used a Thermacell a lot in the woods. I’ve had deer walk right under my treestand and around my ground blind on many occasions with no evidence that they smell it. Of course I’ll never know about any deer that may have steered clear, lol, but I’m a true believer in it for early season mosquito control.

  5. I’ve never had a deer spook from the smell. I’d say if it was close enough that it smelled the Thermacell then it could smell you anyway. They make Earth scents as well but I’ve used regular for years and never had issues. But it is night and day difference as far as keeping mosquitoes off versus sprays. Within five minutes of turning it on they’re gone. I keep an extra fuel refill and extra pads in my backpack. I wanted to add that I thought the same thing for years when I first heard about Thermacell. But swatting mosquitoes scares more deer than the smell of the repellent. I wish I’d done it a long time ago. I only started using them when I began bow hunting. I used to only rifle hunt and didn’t have much trouble with mosquitoes at that time of year unless I hunted close to water on a warmer day.

  6. Found an old (L serial#) Bushmaster A2 HBAR the other day for cheap and thought, "Oh what the Heck, one more AR won't break the bank." Decided to keep it iron sights since all my other toys have glass and quickly discovered that I could see the target but not the sights OR I could see the sights but not the target depending on which pair of glasses I was wearing (and without them I couldn't see the sights or the target!). Went online and picked up a Primary Arms Micro Dot (2 MOA) and set it up as an Absolute Co-Witness and Voila! I could actually see the target AND the top of the sight post! Setting up at 25 meters for a Battle Sight Zero it put every round through a 3/8" hole, at 100 and 200 yards it easily held 2 MOA. I've never tried the Red Dot/Iron Sight combo before and wasn't sure I would like it but I soon remembered why I liked having a lighter rifle for the simple fun of shooting it! Only problem now is coming up with enough ammo to keep it fed!

  8. I think that he spent a few days with some a$$hole in a house who was helping him out. When he was taken into custody he was well shaved didn't have beard growth like you'd have after 7 days.

  9. I would prefer the XDs or Shield. Both seem easy to handle for me, but my Shield has a ported barrel.

  10. Since I like to keep life simple here’s what I would do: If you have a permit carry a proper handgun. If you are legally allowed to own a firearm, keep a carbine in your vehicle if you feel the need for that kind of firepower. Myself, I’m not into playing roadside lawyer and whipping out internet documents in the event an interaction with The Law occurred. The odds are stacked against you.

  11. Dude relax. Just buy what you like from a reputable vendor. If the time comes that you really need to worry if your brace is kosher what you'll really need is more ammo.

  14. The craziest to me is the mineral rights ownership I have seen up in SW VA. They can find the largest coal vein on your land but because someone gave the person that owned it in 1950 $5, you do not own that coal. Coal companies bought up huge tracts of rights for a few bucks as specukative purchases.i knew a family that did not sell, but their neighbor did. The natural gas under their propery got pumped out by the company tapping the deposit on their neighbor's land.

  15. Ran well. Pretty big can, diameter wise. Didn’t always cycle in full configuration at first, but now runs just fine in both short and long.
