  1. You knocked it out of the park my man. All I have to add is many over 50 (more like 70) NEED the government to even barely survive.

  2. I would argue that We Were Soldiers is probably the best movie about Vietnam that's ever been made.

  4. As I understand it the $$$ is not what makes the airlines care so much about checked guns, it's the pile of grief the FAA apparently gives them when firearms do go missing in secure areas. This is why so many photographers I know use this method of including guns with their gear. Tell the baggage clerk that your high dollar camera gear disappeared and they shrug and hand you a claim form then tell you they'll call you if/when it turns up. Tell them a similar case holding a firearm is missing and all of a sudden they are on the radio looking high and low and getting supervisors involved. . .

  5. best thing to do is rip the seal off and get that temptation out of your mind. I'm of the mindset that unless you need the money, the bourbon (or rye in this case) is better than money

  6. There you go poking me in the eye...lol. Probably not. Truth is we're all just dinosaurs anyway. Let's just get brutally honest. People like us are a dying breed. Most everyone under 50 expects the government to take care of them. And they'll get their wish. At the cost of their freedom. This is gonna be the future. When there's this many people on the planet there's no choice but for government to control most aspects of our lives. Best we can hope for is a particularly deadly strain of the flue. Thin the herd as it were.

  7. Yep. And if you want real service - an independent bank or credit union is your best bet. They're really the only ones playing with their own money.

  8. Not necessarily. There are lots of regional banks just as happy as pigs in #### that have no desire to sell to anyone. The one i bank with has been an indy for at least 20 years.

  9. Here's a simple recipe to try. Everyone I know loves it. 1. Take a brisket and cold smoke it for 5-6 hours. 2, Generously onion powder, garlic powder, meat tenderizer, and McCormick's Mesquite spice. 3, Wrap it in several layers of heavy foil and slow bake it at 250 degrees until done, (5 hours or so depending on its thickness). 4. Let it rest until coming down to around 100 degrees, then unwrap it over the sink. The brisket will be infused with smoke and spice yet so tender you can scrape the excess fat off easily. Like scrape with a butter knife easy. We like to eat it in stuffed baked potatoes.

  10. Here are a couple of pics of a knife that I had him build for me. I got the idea from looking at some Randall Knives and asked him if he could put his spin on a Randall 1-8, and he came through. I can't wait to get this knife in my hands. Thanks again Don and who ever made the Randall style sheath to go along with it.

  11. I'm proud to say that my children and older grandchildren are all conservatives. My middle kid was all about Obama when he first ran. We asked her what policies of his that she supported, and she couldn't name one. All she could say was that he spoke to her. When I pointed out that being a smooth talker was all he had then she saw the light. It was affirmed when we told her of some of the policies of the Democrats. She is now a solid conservative.

  13. The cannon was fired multiple times. We were in a really rural area but we made so much noise a deputy eventually showed up. He seemed more curious than concerned.

  14. The cannon got first crack, and then we all finished it off. Like Erik said, we put a LOT of rounds into that car. It was at least 10 of us.

  15. I would agree it was a great motion picture and it took me quite a while to be able to watch it becuase of what friends had told me about it. I bet very few people know that La Drang Valley was the first real encounter that took place between American and Vietnamese forces. it gave our upper military personel the intelligence they needed to know just what the Vietnamese Military was willing to sacrifice in a war. In that battle 124 Americans were wounded, 234 Americans died and there was over 2000 Vietnamese killed in that battle.

  18. Shooting him as he is running away might be looked at in several different ways and you could wind up in trouble. Many times cases like that have gone bad because if he is going away they might look at the fact that the threat to you was over and you didn't need to shoot him in the back. Then they may look at the fact that he had already killed 2 and njured more and is wanted and had 100's of police officers hunting for him to catch him before he killed or hurt someone else and pin a medal on you and give you a big check. It is one of the Damned if you do and Damned if you don't issues..................JMHO

  24. I agree with Pink Cadillac and might go so far as to say it’s one of the worst movies ever, but the “Loose” movies are excellent, lol. You left out Bronco Billy, it was garbage as well.
