  1. I'm gonna go off topic for a funny. My first car was a 68 VW. First week in January I got it we turned it over on a slick country road. It landed upside down balanced on the roof. We got out, flipped it over, I reached inside and smacked the ceiling and it popped the concave dent it had made, and off we went.

  3. Truth. Empire is hard. So is math. The political reality of 2018 is that if you’re going to keep the lights on and the toilets flushing, both parties are really constrained in what they can actually hope to do. And, that’s even further constrained by what they can pass - even when they’ve got their hands on all the levers of power as the GOP recently has. The American path - in this late stage capitalism is largely determined. Either party can deviate maybe a couple of degrees in either direction. But, you’re staying on the path. Rhetoric is easy though - and it works. I’d love to see the average American really figure out that the political class at large - not simply the other party is just feeding them rhetoric to keep them punching down and focused elsewhere while they continue to loot the place.

  4. Now this is a "2 for one shot" The hunter, who the wildlife agency identified as Bob Long, took aim at a buck with “big antlers” off in the distance. After making his shot and killing the animal, Long approached it and made an “astounding” discovery: The buck was “carrying around another set of antlers and part of a decomposing carcass,” the agency explained. The deer, which was "truly a rare harvest," state wildlife officials said, has garnered thousands of reactions on the social media platform, many users responding in both awe and disgust. https://www.foxnews.com/great-outdoors/kentucky-man-bags-deer-with-decapitated-buck-head-stuck-in-its-antlers

  5. Not to mention, no matter how poorly the Republicans treat gun owners by paying lip service and then not following through, what are their other options? They’re not voting for a Democrat who is openly hostile to them. The R’s have gunowners as a captive voting block just like the Democrats have many minority groups. They get all of the benefits without having to do any actual work. Welcome to the plantation.

  6. Your only obligation is to confirm the buyer is legally alllowed to own a firearm. How you do that isn't defined. Most people just ask. No paperwork is required.

  7. Congress is fully capable of multiple efforts at the same time...especially on different topics. Gun laws go through the committees that oversee DOJ & ATF, tax reform went through the Ways & Means Committee. The only time they need to act as a full body is for the voting. Things they want to happen, will happen. Clearly this wasn't a priority for the congress or the administration. Who knows when the chance will come again. I'm not saying we needed to get everything, but something would have been nice. Moving SBRs off the NFA list, or approval with a standard background check and a $200 tax stamp the FFL can collect would suffice. Just ending the wait that's become a infringement via the bottleneck is the ass pain there. The HPA could of also been passed with a modicum of effort (even tacked onto some appropriations bill), but clearly the President and Congress weren't of a mind to reward gun owners for their loyalty shown in the turnout out for the 2016 election. Instead, the gun lobby is acquiescing over something they would have fought the Obama administration on.

  10. What exactly is a true republican? I’m being serious. There is a distinct difference between political parties and what the vast majority of Americans truly believe and want.

  11. https://www.foxnews.com/us/washington-police-chief-says-he-wont-enforce-stricter-gun-laws-that-infringe-citizens-rights Published November 16, 2018 Republic Police Chief Loren Culp says he wont enforce stricter gun laws passed statewide because they “infringe” on the second amendment. A local police chief in Washington state says he won’t enforce newly passed gun regulations that he claims “infringe” on the second amendment. Washington now has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation after new regulations were passed by nearly 60 percent of the state this month, KXLY reported. Under initiative 1639, the age to purchase certain guns has gone up, enhanced background checks are now required to buy a semi-automatic rifle and criminal charges can be brought against any gun owner who violates the safe storage provision. But one local law enforcement official says he won’t be the one enforcing these laws. Republic Police Chief Loren Culp took to Facebook to tell the citizens of his city, who voted overwhelmingly against the initiative, that he has no plans to implement the rules. “I’ve taken 3 public oaths, one in the US Army and Two as a police officer. All of them included upholding and defending the Constitution of the United States of America,” Culp wrote. “As long as I am Chief of Police, no Republic Police Officer will infringe on a citizens right to keep and Bear Arms, PERIOD!” Culp told KXLY that he feels the ordinance “completely flies in the face of both the U.S. and State constitution.” In another Facebook post, the department proposed its own legislation that would stop the state and the federal government from “infringement of the right to keep and bear arms." The Republic city clerk told KXLY that the ordinance would be presented to council members next week but Culp says he doesn’t need approval to carry out his new policy.

  12. They can’t even count votes down there. Something as complicated as looking at fingerprints probably blew somebody’s mind.

  13. I doubt anyone cares but my Florida permit arrived yesterday. Apparently they have a very low bar for fingerprints. I'm amazed they accepted the ones I sent because they looked like they were done by a child. It took 2 months which is a lot longer than TN.

  14. Still legal, I'm sure I would have heard of any changes. Just make sure you retain a signed copy of the sale with model, serial, D.O.B., address, telephone, cal., date, drivers licence, etc. for your records. You just never know?

  15. Yep. I pointed this out recently that we were all excited about HPA, NFA repeal, etc. To my knowledge, not a single bill was brought to a vote. You can't blame the RINO's when no one even attempts to pass anything.

  16. You guys getting tired of all the winning on gun rights yet? Two years of consolidated power to pass whatever could have come through a Congress that has a lot of favors to repay the gun lobby, and all we got was zip.

  18. Well I guess I am lucky in that sense. Darby can't talk and if she could the only abuse she could complain about is to much spoiling. My neighbors are all gun owners and we watch out for each other. All of my family are gun owners. I do my best to fly under everyones radar. Hope our new Governor is a Pro-gun 2nd Amendment person. I think he is since he wants to train and arm the teachers in the schools.................JMHO

  20. Again we have a lot in common. I was going to upgrade my G26 gen 3 to the gen 5. Looking through the glass counter I spied a Sig 320 sub-compact and asked to see it. Long story short, I walked out with the new Sig and kept my G26. BAD, BAD sales counter gun guy! There should be another liberal law against impulse buying

  21. Manufacturers don’t really divulge that kind of information nor would it make any difference. My understanding is they use stuff and blends of stuff not generally available off the shelf. The Power-Shok does appear to be very clean and accurate though. I blew 40 rounds through a 100 year old M1917 last weekend and holes were touching each other at 100 yards. Just ran a patch through the barrel with not a whole lot of residue.

  22. On that we can agree, Erik. I do not like the Republican party. Today, however, they are preferable to the Democrat party. That's as far as my loyalty goes with them.

  24. Here are a couple of pics of a knife that I had him build for me. I got the idea from looking at some Randall Knives and asked him if he could put his spin on a Randall 1-8, and he came through. I can't wait to get this knife in my hands. Thanks again Don and who ever made the Randall style sheath to go along with it.

  31. Today I stopped by Walmart in need of 30-06 as I don’t want to break into my stash of HXP M2 ball held in reserve to feed the Garand. They have Federal Power-Shock 150 gr SP for $11.97/box. Cheapest they sell so that’s what I wanted. Looked it up later to see what I bought and it appears Federal is running a $5 per box rebate. Score. It might take three months to get that $10 back but when it’s all said and done that’s a mighty fine price for ammo. I’m cheap like that.
