  1. 8:00 am: I made a snowman. 8:10 - A feminist passed by and asked me why I didn't make a snow woman. 8:15 - So, I made a snow woman. 8:17 - My feminist neighbor complained about the snow woman's voluptuous chest saying it objectified snow women everywhere. 8:20 - The gay couple living nearby threw a hissy fit and moaned it could have been two snow men instead. 8:22 - The transgender man..women...person asked why I didn't just make one snow person with detachable parts. 8:25 - The vegans at the end of the lane complained about the carrot nose, as veggies are food and not to decorate snow figures with. 8:28 - I was being called a racist because the snow couple is white. 8:31 - The middle eastern gent across the road demanded the snow woman be covered up . 8:40 - The Police arrived saying someone had been offended. 8:42 - The feminist neighbor complained again that the broomstick of the snow woman needed to be removed because it depicted women in a domestic role. 8:43 - The council equality officer arrived and threatened me with eviction. 8:45 - TV news crew from ABC showed up. I was asked if I know the difference between snowmen and snow-women? I replied "Snowballs" and am now called a sexist. 9:00 - I was on the News as a suspected terrorist, racist, homophobe sensibility offender, bent on stirring up trouble during difficult weather. 9:10 - I was asked if I have any accomplices. My children were taken by social services. 9:29 - Far left protesters offended by everything marched down the street demanding for me to be arrested. Moral: There is no moral to this story. It is what we have become all because of snowflakes

  2. I see this no differently than alcohol use. I also saw my neighbor eaten up from pancreatic cancer who suffered under conventional care due to the "opioid crisis" who's last days were made considerably more bearable from turning to marijuana wax. I can't understand how the party of personal responsibility can say you're not responsible enough to decide what to put in your body nor how you meet your maker.

  3. Why not simply remove cannabis from the Controlled Substances Act, so that it's use is no longer a federal crime period, and let the states handle the rest of it? - OS

  4. The simple, but sometimes not so easy, solution is to push back. Don't answer those after hours calls. Make them leave a message and then decide how important it really is. Most of it can wait until tomorrow. Train and empower others to handle the simple stuff. Don't fuss if they mess it up, reward them for doing something instead of nothing. Go to disconnected places for vacation. No cell service, no wifi. I read somewhere that it takes the average American about 4 uninterrupted days to really relax and start enjoying a vacation. And you start dreading going back to work 2 days before vacation is over. So on a typical 1 week vacation, you get 1-2 days if you're lucky. I've got enough work to do that I could work 100 hrs/wk for several months and likely still not get ahead of the curve. But I'm not gonna work that much so some stuff simply isn't getting done. If management doesn't think it's important enough to allocate or incentivize the available resources, then they must accept the delay. It is what it is. It causes me some stress because I don't like being buried with work, but work isn't priority 1. I'm working through it to the best of my ability and that's all I can do.

  5. I'm getting really tired of the people saying "no one is coming for your guns." My patience for that is wearing thin. This grabber bingo is too accurate.

  6. As a child my parents saw a "skill" I had. I can look at a machine and see how it works, and better can "see" what is wrong when the machine is not working correctly. My parents feed that skill with books, models, erector sets and the like. I have always did the work of service and repair, to this day I love my job. So I do not have the "tired of being tired" thing. My issue has been management, bad or indifferent. I am early for work, do not lay out and do good work, stay late at times as well. This is where I get into trouble, when I need a day off or need to take off early I do, it rubs the boss the wrong way and I get into trouble. That said I just had an yearly eval, got a 2 dollar plus raise and an extra week of vacation. Enjoy your job and never work a day, or find a skill that you enjoy.

  7. Someone on Reddit posted this. I promise I don't follow this website. From everything I've read Massie is the real deal. He's honestly what the rest of the GOP should try to be. https://www.marijuanamoment.net/gop-congressman-wants-marijuana-consumers-to-be-able-to-legally-purchase-guns/ MM: Are you hopeful that marijuana reform will be accomplished in the next Congress? TM: I think it was a huge missed opportunity for Republicans. I think if we had passed a bill that left this issue up to the states, I think we might still be in the majority. There are, believe it or not, there are one-issue voters out there and this is their issue for some of those voters. For some of them, it’s a secondary or tertiary issue. But it still affects which party they decide to vote for. I’ve polled constituents in my district—it’s a very conservative district—and whether or not they’re for outright legalization of marijuana, 75 percent of Republicans and 75 percent of Democrats in my congressional district are in favor of leaving it up to the states.

  8. Anytime anyone asks about the "dangers of marijuana" I ask them when was the last time they saw a news story about a stoner beating their wife and kids. I just can't see a reason to prohibit marijuana when the negatives are available in legal options from tobacco and alcohol. Rep. Massie is spot on when he says Republicans missed an opportunity on this issue.

  9. When I was a cop I was paid to enforce the law. Today I just don't give a crap what someone else shoves up their nose because it's their choice. We have a drug problem in this country largely because we make it illegal. I'm not discounting the wealth of this country as a factor too but the same extreme right that brought us Prohibition that didn't stop drinking and allowed gangs to flourish into syndicates. And the, "What if your family was killed by a stoned driver" argument doesn't wash because the same happens every day from alcohol and drug use.

  10. After Cohen's sentencing yesterday I was speaking to a coworker about the fact that we have people serving life sentences for weed while white collar crime gets off with a slap on the wrist. It's ridiculous. I think Massie is right, had the GOP legalized weed I think they would have kept the house. Alcohol is far more dangerous and just worse for you in every way.

  11. Not a revolver but I mounted a 2x20 Nikon Force XR on my CVA .50 cal muzzy pistol. The rings are Weaver. The pistol came with a rail style base. Have shot it quite a bit developing a hunting load and its remained solid.

  12. We're a proud bunch so it's hard for us to admit that that are a few things that they get right overseas. It's not like they're less productive either. In fact, most people recognize that a human can only work so much before they actually become less productive.

  13. I enjoy my job. The pace may be a smoker, but the people I work with are great, and the intellectual challenges I face every day keep me on my toes, which is a satisfaction point for me. It would be nice if they back filled positions, instead of just reallocating the workload among everybody else...but companies are into that now. That said, I read the first post of this thread nodding my head all along. This is the pace business goes in America these days. One of the reasons I've been posting a lot less than in times past is the pace of my job. Most of my personal time (especially on weekdays) is spent recuperating and trying to shut my brain off for a rest. It's probably not healthy, and I've yet to seriously contemplate a limit, so burnout would be the next likely step. You can talk about disconnecting all you want, but that will eventually make you less relevant or a drag within the business structure, and at that point, you're seen as a liability instead of a value add, so your job is at risk. The Europeans seem to have gotten a good handle on making corporations accept that a work/life balance for employees isn't an option...but people tend to view anything European as socialism incarnate. Maybe ask how they feel about that in August, though.

  15. Well, I had a job for 35 years I dearly loved back when I was working fixing cars and light trucks. I looked forward to going to work every day. My if a shop I was working in closed down I would load my tool box and make no more than two stops at other shops around Nashville area. I finally had a friend tell me to check out a location in Brentwood and I did. I went in an asked if I could fill out an app and the man handed me one ad he said is your name Doug and I said yes sir. He looked out at my pickup with all the boxes in the back and he said you hvae a job. Just finish your app and for the record. I turned in the app and he took me out in the shop and said you will be working in bay 3. I said ok and I asked him about how the pay works and he began laughing and he said yea, I am getting ahead of my self and he too me in his office and explained his entire format. I said can I get some help with unloading my tools and he said yes, the other techs in the shop will help you. When we shook hands he looked at me and said your reputation preceeds and I have wished for long time I could have a mechanic of your caliber working for us. I didn't have 1 guy that was happy I was hired without his approval and that was the Service manager and he was always allowed to interview all new mechanics and he didn't me. The shop owner hired me personally. The service Mgr. got over his bad mood pretty quick and for the last 10.5 years I worked I loved my job. zero stress at all. I even set my own hours and would be in at 8AM and leave when I had my work done. Sometimes 5 but most times between 6 and 7 PM. Once the Service Mgr found out I was pretty able to fix anything wrong so he would have my work order pegs fill before I ever got to work. I still miss not being able to work on cars back when cars were still cars. Now my son get to work on what they call cars now days...........lol

  17. They are going to keep pushing until there is a fight somewhere. Simple fact is, we ALLOW them to govern us. They only have enough force to maintain that balance. That won't change until every man in this country grows a vagina. I won't live to see that.

  18. I think this could potentially be another bad law used in divorce type situations with arguing spouses to get back at each other. There are laws on the books to deal with convicted felons. There are also laws already on the books to deal with people who are so mentally unstable that the courts need to supervise. I don't see a new law fixing these two issues.

  22. I just think Red Flag laws do more harm than good. Anyone that does not like you for any reason can file a complaint and get your guns taken away before any Due Process has taken place in court. I think there should be very strict guidelines in which a complaint can be filed. Then I think it should be required that the Accused and Complaintant should be required to face each other in a court of law and the complaintant must prove his/her case beyond a shadow of a doubt before he can get the complaint filed. If the complaintant cannot prove their case they should be required to pay all court costs and attorneys fees for both people involved. Knowing that they could end up losing and paying all of this may cause them to think twice before filing a false report...................JMHO
