  1. Here are some pictures of the sheath that 1911alltheway made for my Seax. He has made some absolutely gorgeous sheaths for me but when I took this out of the box I was stunned and without words. It's of course huge because of the length of the Seax and the workmanship is nothing short of spectacular. It you need a holster, sheath or anything else made of leather I encourage you to talk to this man and see if he can help you. I've given him only vague ideas of what I wanted in sheaths and he has continued to come up with designs that amaze me.

  4. While I understand that this topic could be of interest to some, the reality is that it doesn’t really belong here. It didn’t happen in Tennessee, it isn’t recent, and I just don’t see what purpose it serves by being posted. Here is a general reminder for everyone. While criticism of law-enforcement isn’t verboten, it must be relevant to the purpose of this forum. Please keep that in mind when posting threads of this nature.

  5. @Grand Torino and @willis68 taught me I need to collect knives as well as guns. Great video. Love all the knives I have received from both of these guys.

  6. Wow! I had entertained selling a couple of my knives. This video makes me even more proud to be a Protech owner. I only carry one of my Runts and a TR4. I have to start getting the others out of the safe more often.

  9. I'm lucky now, but there was a time when I was burned out and miserable. I had to learn that I MUST set limits and look after my own health and wellbeing. Turning off the electronics even for a short time every day is critical to my mental health. I'm involved in non electronic hobbies etc. Constant contact, emails, texts, etc. will wear you down. Peejman offered good advise. I hope it all works out for the best.

  10. The simple, but sometimes not so easy, solution is to push back. Don't answer those after hours calls. Make them leave a message and then decide how important it really is. Most of it can wait until tomorrow. Train and empower others to handle the simple stuff. Don't fuss if they mess it up, reward them for doing something instead of nothing. Go to disconnected places for vacation. No cell service, no wifi. I read somewhere that it takes the average American about 4 uninterrupted days to really relax and start enjoying a vacation. And you start dreading going back to work 2 days before vacation is over. So on a typical 1 week vacation, you get 1-2 days if you're lucky. I've got enough work to do that I could work 100 hrs/wk for several months and likely still not get ahead of the curve. But I'm not gonna work that much so some stuff simply isn't getting done. If management doesn't think it's important enough to allocate or incentivize the available resources, then they must accept the delay. It is what it is. It causes me some stress because I don't like being buried with work, but work isn't priority 1. I'm working through it to the best of my ability and that's all I can do.

  11. Thats a good read, confirms what I have always thought. Any gun is better than no gun, and shot placement is more important than caliber.

  12. I think this pretty much sums up the importance of the 2nd amendment. I can't understand why any true American would want something like this. CUCUTA, Venezuela/Colombia border – As Venezuela continues to crumble under the socialist dictatorship of President Nicolas Maduro, some are expressing words of warning – and resentment – against a six-year-old gun control bill that stripped citizens of their weapons. “Guns would have served as a vital pillar to remaining a free people, or at least able to put up a fight,” Javier Vanegas, 28, a Venezuelan teacher of English now exiled in Ecuador, told Fox News. “The government security forces, at the beginning of this debacle, knew they had no real opposition to their force. Once things were this bad, it was a clear declaration of war against an unarmed population.” Continued at link...................................... https://www.foxnews.com/world/venezuelans-regret-gun-prohibition-we-could-have-defended-ourselves

  18. Thank you for the kind words GT. This was a fun project and a challenge. I had been wanting to do something with knot work on it for a while now so I was pleased when you asked me to do this sheath. You definitely keep me on my toes with the beauty of your knives. and let me just say this was an impressive knife, who ever gets this is definitely getting a work of art. I had to fight everyone off as I was working on it as everyone that saw it was drawn to it, LOL.

  19. The Parkland Shooting Commission has released their findings. Their recommendation is armed teachers after 13-1 vote. The Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Commission voted 13-1 to recommend the Legislature allow the arming of teachers, saying it's not enough to have one or two police officers or armed guards on campus. Florida law adopted after the Feb. 14 shooting that left 17 dead allows districts to arm non-teaching staff members such as principals, librarians and custodians — 13 of the 67 districts do, mostly in rural parts of the state. https://www.foxnews.com/us/parkland-shooting-commission-recommends-teachers-be-armed-to-stop-violence

  22. To celebrate the event of Nelson Mandela's birthday and promote the anti aparthied movement, a rock concert was held on 6/11/88 at Webley Stadium. Star studded cast, after hours of rocking and screaming for curtain calls, the closing act, unannounced, un promoted, and more than likely unknown, walked on to the stage and captivated the audience Perhaps, if man is born broken, and life is mending, God's grace is the glue.

  25. Well, I had a job for 35 years I dearly loved back when I was working fixing cars and light trucks. I looked forward to going to work every day. My if a shop I was working in closed down I would load my tool box and make no more than two stops at other shops around Nashville area. I finally had a friend tell me to check out a location in Brentwood and I did. I went in an asked if I could fill out an app and the man handed me one ad he said is your name Doug and I said yes sir. He looked out at my pickup with all the boxes in the back and he said you hvae a job. Just finish your app and for the record. I turned in the app and he took me out in the shop and said you will be working in bay 3. I said ok and I asked him about how the pay works and he began laughing and he said yea, I am getting ahead of my self and he too me in his office and explained his entire format. I said can I get some help with unloading my tools and he said yes, the other techs in the shop will help you. When we shook hands he looked at me and said your reputation preceeds and I have wished for long time I could have a mechanic of your caliber working for us. I didn't have 1 guy that was happy I was hired without his approval and that was the Service manager and he was always allowed to interview all new mechanics and he didn't me. The shop owner hired me personally. The service Mgr. got over his bad mood pretty quick and for the last 10.5 years I worked I loved my job. zero stress at all. I even set my own hours and would be in at 8AM and leave when I had my work done. Sometimes 5 but most times between 6 and 7 PM. Once the Service Mgr found out I was pretty able to fix anything wrong so he would have my work order pegs fill before I ever got to work. I still miss not being able to work on cars back when cars were still cars. Now my son get to work on what they call cars now days...........lol

  26. Then they need to educate themselves with testing or listen to the observations/descriptions of those who have been in or observed those situations and determine if they sound credible. My observations are that too many people don’t do that. Everything is application driven, and no one round is good for all applications. Sometimes you have to pick a lesser round due to recoil, concealability, or capacity. The .45ACP, the 9MM, the .40S&W and my personal favorite the 158 grain .357Mag have all, at one time or another failed to stop an armed attacker and he has shot the victim to death. On the other hand .22’s have dropped people dead like a switch was turned off. I’m not armed in my house the same way as when I carry outside the house. Different applications. Simply shooting different guns/calibers and training gives you a better idea than what you read. Especially if you shoot something besides paper. Basic Physics is the other thing. Mass/Surface Area/velocity are the factors. That hasn’t changed in my lifetime or yours. Even though the youngsters on here try to claim it has.

  27. That line from that story says it all. You need a weapon and a round that is capable of making an armed gunman unable or unwilling to fire his weapon at you. That is something very different than studying shooting victims. Our reasoning is based on our experiences. The only person that has to be happy with what you are carrying; is you.
